A person might find a Dremmel tool useful in place of a drill press for clearing plastic tabs in the button and mounting ridge. Also, a Dremmel grinding bit could be used to rough up the chrome button tops to help an adhesive to hold the plastic caps to the buttons.

How did you remove the bulb from the swivel light? Did you just push on it from the back side? I can remove the clear lens but there isn't a real good way to get a hold on the bulb.

What was the part # on the old map switch with button?

Val-ee4hd I don’t remember but there is no replacement. GM never sold the switches separate. You had to purchase the complete assembly with switches and map lights I had them check all dealers in my state them in the USA none left. Believe me if there was one left I would have snagged it.

Genuine GM Part # 25877453 - overhead center console map light switch ALSO, if you are only buying one and waiting for delivery you can disasasemble the old switch and follw the wrire coming out that goes to the bulb and leaving the "in" wire hanging, simply pressthe copper connector on the correct side of the bulb it meeats the contacts and both bulbs will light at ther same time (temporarily of course!).

A little flathead in the notch of the lense pops it out!
