Safety concerns STALL search for Tyler Doyle

- Tyler Doyle, a 22-year-old man and soon-to-be father of two, went missing on January 26th during what should have been a routine day of duck hunting, We had so many of our supporters reach out to us, that once we had the opportunity to help, we made the unanimous decision to reroute and join the search.
Being led to a private boat ramp, we met with Wings of Hope Search & Rescue and the family of Tyler. We were able to have an efficient and concise debriefing with the facts of the case, as well as the oceanic conditions that many were facing in searching for Tyler.
Unfortunately, day 15 proved to be no different than the others, due to the incoming storms, the rapid current changes, and the swells that were crashing in and only growing larger. We made our way to the jetty to get a better sense of the situation and were forced to turn back due to the waves slamming over the front of the boat. We had local experts helping in the decision-making process.
We have let the family know that should we be able to return next week once the weather has calmed down, we will be back to assist in bringing Tyler home.

I wish we could have done more but when it comes to the ocean there is no room for error. A heartbreaking case and my deepest sympathy to the family of tyler in this tragedy. The calm bay is deceptive because once you get out to the open ocean its a whole different atmosphere. Plus it can change so so fast.

I'm glad you all made an attempt under such harsh conditions. Safety is always most important. Most people can't see or understand what is going on in and under the water. And how fast it changes. Tyler's unfortunate tragedy is an example of how fast things can go bad. Stay safe and hopefully yous get another chance to help find him

Adding rescuers to list of the missing is never a good thing. Safety has to be your first concern as a rescuer our recovery Josh I cannot tell you how joyful it is to see you're absolutely spectacular camera working editing back in a milieux where you shine so brightly .

Thank you! This is local and I'm only 10 minutes from the area he was last seen. My boys are avid hunters and follow dirt track racing. My oldest and Tyler are close in age as well as both expecting daughters. This could have easily been my family. My heart breaks for his family. Thank you for your courageous acts and caring!!! If there’s one thing that Tyler’s case has taught us, it’s that you cannot underestimate the power of the water. Wise call to get out of there. I like the use of drones to cover ground.

I remember visiting Duluth, Minnesota, a few years ago, & seeing a coast guard boat literally riding the waves, nearly sideways. I will never forget seeing that, it was so scary!

I went fishing a few times on them open waters, the water was calm and smooth. The last time there was clouds in the distance, the captain said we have to head in , on our way back we had 4 to 6 foot rolls . I never went back out 😂. Watch for the clouds when you go out. That water changes fast.

Most of us do not have any concept of the power of ocean, rivers, lakes etc. Us lamens just see the top of most of the bodies of water with no clue what's below. I've learned so much from you and you're adventures. You're amazing

Man that was rough water. I was getting seasick just watching the boat bounce up & down.
Just too rough for safe searching. Not quite white capping, but those were large swells. Having some data on the underwater currents would be a great help in finding him.
I remain hopeful that you will locate him on your return there.. My condolences to the family.
