LMAO that's a pun folks..and yes I've had one done and it can save your lives..Thanks Peter Yarrow please continue with all the good you do..love from Australia.😊
Peter - thank you - this little ditty gave me the inal push I needed to get mine done (1st one) - Dec. 2020. All good - gold star colon - one small polyp - checked - benign. Thanks
A gentle reminder that C.C.T.V. can be intrusive in a good way. funny that this video comes on a day when I have been working with a group of children showing how we can get important messages over in a memorable and interesting way. I was surprised how clear the pictures were as I watched that little camera journey through my colon. Thank you for sharing this Max and no I do not have any anecdotes concerning famous colonoscopies though I did once use the same rest-room as Robin Gibb. LOL
Really charming song, and I don't think anyone could have sung it better than Peter Yarrow. Now, we need a song that will make the *prep* the night before seem fun and exciting...
man your awesome . i love this. I'm having my second colonoscopy tomorrow. first one I had they removed a polyp coffee cup size. blew my mind idt they get that big but I seen the pic. Ty for this song
Oh my gosh. That is the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life. "I didn't mean to sound so crass..... they shoved a camera up my............" i LOVED the look on his face when he said that...... omg i havent laughed so hard in forever.
I commented on this six months ago but my friend Max drew me back to it today. Still as funny and informative as the last time but more interesting reading some of the other comments since my last visit. I guess this is a good time to say I LMAO.
@bbcpdx, It's not only for people aged 50+, I am 22 years old and I was diagnosed with FAP (100% change of Colon Cancer by age 30-40). I've suffered the colonoscopy preps and I loved this. I actually go in tomorrow to have my colon removed. It's a hard journey but I have to agree with you- it is just as funny as Dave Barry's article.
Bravo, Peter! The top new video you must absolutely positively view before colonoscopy! March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, so we offer you the music parody “Lookin’ Up My Backdoor.” The song pays homage to Credence Clearwater Revival’s hit song “Lookin’ Out My Backdoor,” but with a decidedly different message. Download the digestive ditty freely at iTunes, the quirky video can be viewed on TH-cam.
Colonoscopy mortality 10 times higher than mortality from surgical abortions in women! www.huffingtonpost.com/michelle-tang/5-things-that-are-more-le_b_8630572.html
It gets worse, Peter Yarrow is a convicted child abuser and was pardoned by then US President Gerald Ford in 1981. Creepy indeed! And this is the group that stole and run the media and everything.
The classic in this category is a song by Canadian Duo Bowser and Blue called "The Colorectal Surgeon". We first heard it at a fund raiser for the Crohn's and Colitis Society. It was special. Imagine a career working "where the sun don't shine"
@FoxtrotCharlie50 Peter Yarrow fought to end the Vietnam war? Fuck that. He fought to gain fame and fortune in the form of people praising him for ending the Vietnam war. You can see it in his demeanor, can't you? Well, I can. I met the man and he's chock full of smugness. No pain or empathy resides in this man for the people who died and suffered because of the Vietnam war. Only happiness for all the people that didn't die as a result of him being their savior. Newsflash: ya didn't save 1 life!
I had a colonoscopy one time on my birthday! One polyp, benign. Yea! September 27th, 2011. 2016, none. Yea! Have it done every 5 years people if you're polyp free. Every 3 if not so. And not to mention the white stuff which is actually called Propofol gives you a nice feeling if you don't go out like a light. 16 seconds one time to put me out. Not bad. See ya!
@FoxtrotCharlie50 Peter Yarrow fought to gain pride over his fellow men. He did nothing to fight to end the Vietnam war. I saw this truth first hand last week when I saw him in concert. He sang about 10% of the time and for the other 90% he preached and preached about the wonderful cause he has been a part of his whole life. Nothing sincere came out of this man's mouth. Nothing whatsoever.... He didn't help end any war any more than you or I.
I don't have much animosity toward Yarrow, as he's just one more American with a misguided sense of justice. Cronkite, however, must be held to a higher standard, as his field was journalism and as the purported "most trusted man in America," he betrayed a generation of warriors against the global spread of Communism.
Great song! RIP Peter.
PP&M waren im AM-Folk-Revival eine Riesennummer. Nun müssen wir sie nach und nach verabschieden. Danke für die Songs und RiP.
My brother and I met Peter Yarrow five years ago and he is the best.
LMAO that's a pun folks..and yes I've had one done and it can save your lives..Thanks Peter Yarrow please continue with all the good you do..love from Australia.😊
I adore Peter Yarrow! Only he could take a topic like this and turn it into a folk song!
This guy is awesome!!

Thanks to Max for passing on this song with an important message.
Really charming song, and I don't think anyone could have sung it better than Peter Yarrow.

Mitchell Nussbaum agree, as the prep is much more trying than the procedure
WOW i loved it!!! totally great.
Love this! ❤
Excellent!
Ahhh- it does my heart good to hear this old geezer talk about the benefits of colonoscopy,
Fantastic Peter, you are awesome.

Peter, you "crack me up!" See you at Kerrville! Hope you do this one.
Yay! Peter Yarrow is still alive! The Iatest I see him in at the Kerrville Fork Fest in 1989 - and he complaining about senior moments back then!
He's dead now.
Liked Peter Yarrow's song and had a colonoscopy at the end of December.
I still get quite a kick out of this song! Bravo Peter!
What a Mensch!
I’ve had several with light sedation. I like to watch the screen and have the doc explain what he’s looking at.

"Aww... Blow it out your sphincter!"
Still one of my favorite songs...funny.
Oh my gosh. That is the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life.

Check out the Ode to the Colorectal Surgeon by Bowser and Blue. They composed it for a symposium of CR doctors.

Awww, Happy for you Peter.....What was your prize--a big lollipop perhaps? Ho, Ho....
I trust it wasn't colon cancer what done him in? RIP, memory eternal...
Bladder cancer.

What the frig did I just watch!
+softwhere07 I know that feel
I can't read his handwriting. What's it say on his guitar?
where did all the polyps go? gone to graveyards everyone...................
Good one. Nice play on words.
Grossed out.
This gives me an idea for a beauty contest...
😊

Well, that was weird.

Pitkä Peura He debuted the song on their morning show.

Instead of spending money on a doctor, I just go to the airport and get scanned there.

hes scary XD
Didn't Neil Armstrong "first man on the moon" die when his (very profess ional) doctor shoved that camera through his rectal wall?
Its a good remake of the colo rectal surgeon song. Almost as funny.
1:01 watch that part, over and over.

Yarrow knows all about inspecting colons. 14 year old colons in particular
