Notes for later : - 10:58 : 2 invading points when facing a 5-4 points stone - 12:00 : 2 options to respond to the invasion - 17:08 : next moves for 1st option - 21:40 : summing up the first joseki - 30:06 : second variation of the joseki (this variation makes my corner strong but gives my opponent more influence in the center) - 35:30 : third variation - 36:19 : second joseki summed up - 54:20 : third joseki (when black has an helping stone on one side; white plays a 3-4 stone)
It's a shame your videos have so few views. Your lectures are really helpfull and I just wanted to thank you for uploading them ! Greetings from France :)
moku means eye. taka means high. thus taka moku = high eye coincidentally ko means small. thus 3-4 is komoku = small eye there is also Large high eye: oo-takamoku: 6-4 Off (or outside) the eye: mokuhazushi: a 5-3 Outside the large eye: oo-mokuhazushi): a 6-3
"Moku" can mean different things in Go, it can be 'eye', 'point' and 'empty intersection' depending of the context, is all the same concept in japanese. In this case "moku" is intersection, and "taka" is high, so it is the highest intersection (5th line) that you should play in an empty corner.
You are unbelievably patient with Dan...

Dan strikes again...
moku means eye.
taka means high.
thus taka moku = high eye
coincidentally
ko means small.
thus 3-4 is komoku = small eye
there is also
Large high eye: oo-takamoku: 6-4
Off (or outside) the eye: mokuhazushi: a 5-3
Outside the large eye: oo-mokuhazushi): a 6-3
