    I like your sketch very much, this kind of urban sketch intimidates me I've never try it but every time I want to go for it my hand don't move LOL! Thank you so much for your tips and wonderful videos, I can learn from them and once more give it a try...TFS!

      Draw big buildings first, then fill in the details.

    Sketch very difficult to paint with so many details and without shadow. Bravo Teoh and thank you for this video, back to a classic sketch. Since 2 days I try my new iPad pro and the A. Pencil ... 👍🏻

    I love how loose your sketches are! I'm a newbie painter with a little background in technical drawing and I still can't get over my line obsession:) Has anyone here tried any loosening up exercises that can help, or is it just practice?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe try drawing with a blunt pencil or thick pen. Or draw big to small, and leave out details when you don't have space to draw them. Sometimes it is about your personal style. If you like details, painting loose feels frustrating. But it's good to try different styles occasionally to enjoy the thrill of doing something different

    I like your style Theo! Have you ever tried ballpoint pen with watercolor?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have tried Uniball jetstream ballpoint. I am not sure if that ink is archival.

    Just a quick question..what the most common size of escoda travel brush people use when urbin scratching

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the paper size you use. Size 6 is good for A5 sketchbooks. If you get that size, then don’t get size 4 and 8 because they are too close in size to what you already have.

    Teoh, do you know of any square sketchbooks that could handle watercolour? I enjoy working in larger squares but I can't seem to find a decent sketchbook this shape.

    I often see you using a mixed color that i would call as grey with a granulating purple for shadow. Could you tell me what color you mix for it?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The big wash on the side of the biggest building? That's mixed by three colours: Lemon Yellow + Phthalo Blue + Quin Magenta

    • @z.z.1205
      @z.z.1205 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx. I was talking about older picture. Maybe it was ultramarine and a red. Not sure? But i looked grey with purple granulated color. Sorry for asking twice.

    Hi Teoh, I just ordered Dash 3 fine point(silver) at 11Street.my yesterday. What do you think about Dash 3? Is it ok to draw on xiaomi mi max 2? I'm using Clover Paint app. The stylus price is RM229 Malaysia Ringgit.

    • @teohyc

      It can be used on any phones or tablets. No problem.

    May I ask what kind of waterproof fountain pen ink you used in this sketch?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pelikan M100 and Noodlers Bulletproof Black

    • @starshinesoldier
      @starshinesoldier 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! and it does not bleed on watercolor paper? because I have the noodlers heart of darkness black fountain pen ink and I find that it will still bleed on watercolor paper even after I let it dry for a week once I add my paints.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some Noodlers ink will bleed. It also depends on the paper. You have to test it before using it for actual art.
