One thing is for sure that triggers me is Caffeine and Alcohol
Eh I’ve realized it but I like Mountain Dew. And just 5&mg fucks with me. Bug when I’m medicated I can drink it just fine I also get muscle aches to is that normal?
Same and weed
ok, but this is basically foods that interact negatively with meds, but it says almost nothing about food that affects the disorder itself.
But when I’m manic I wanna try all of that 😂
I will never give up caffeine.
@@jacksonrelaxin3425Along w/BEER (which contains alcohol). The manner in how psych meds work; I'm so much better off drinking beer.
Literally.
This is applicable to all health in general.
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 15. I've taken every psych medication with all the terrible side effects. I'm 28 now and just a couple months ago I found out I have Celiac Disease. I know multiple people that just changed their diet and it improved their mental health tremendously. Please cancel out celiac disease or just change your diet before taking the terrible psych meds
@@towardsscripture yes but a low dose and I'm planning to wean off one day with my diet changed
Years ago, I recall taking an anxiolytic and having severe side effects that I had to cut off immediately
Can you xplain more about bipolar and how to treat someone with bipolar? Coz my girl is suffering with bipolar
@@kl3rockie166 tell her to try changing her diet. A gluten free diet. It's an anti inflammatory diet so it will help her.
@MakeoversByMarina a gluten free diet is not anti inflammatory if eating gf bread products, it actually contains more sugar than regular. My daughter and I are also celiac, diagnosed 16 years ago. My daughter was diagnosed bipolar 2 years ago and a gluten free diet alone does not fix this, sorry. Be careful about giving advice, it's difficult to navigate as is.
I appreciate the advice on foods to avoid. A friend of mine suffers from bipolar disorder, and she tends to consume a significant amount of sugary treats and beverages. Consequently, she is experiencing weight gain beyond the norm for her body type.
Caffeine, alcohol, sugar or too much sweet, not too much salt, fat,
Doesn't this recommendation pertain to every single human being? Is it just more pronounced in people who are bipolar?
Salt is good
Natural sea salt is good
Anything can be “good” or “bad” depending on the variable conditions.
st stopped because I just felt like I could. I’m trying to find other stories like these because I think I’m the only one. I wanna know if a change of mindset is a possibility for a cure because that’s kinda what happened with me. I just stopped like it was nothing, I didn’t try to or say I tried to stop it. I kinda just said that I didn’t have it in my head, like switching my wording and switching what I say and consume with my eyes. And yes I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I took meds for depression and anxiety and I used to SH and everything. I just stopped and went on with my life. It’s been almost 3 years now and my life is great I kinda just started getting out of my comfort zone and grew into it. The thing is that I would’ve thought that it was gonna stay with me forever because the clinic I went to said that I have a chemical imbalance in my brain, idk if that stays or not but I wanna know how I just managed to do that and my theory is that it was my mindset but i still don’t know. If you guys know anything could you let me know what you think it is?
So basically according to this, OMAD and keto is hard if you're bipolar. The extra salt is needed for electrolytes. Saturated fat is the main energy source for healthy living.
whoever made this video is a fucking retard. ignore them. saturated fat is good for you.
“Saturated fat is the main source for healthy living”

I am not bipolar but I have the slow met/met COMT genotype and for this genotype I must avoid caffeine. If I drink coffee I get dopamine epinefrine and norepinefrine buildup in my brain, especially the prefrontal area. Is this genotype a risk factor for bipolar disorder?
Hello I mostly agree with this video with basically going keto. I disagree with fats our brains run on fat because they are made of fats. Fish oil and cod liver are great sources. I know you won’t respond I see no response to anyone’s questions.
Also most people are too lazy to make this lifestyle change I will say I did and I’m feeling close to perfect now 2 years later. Sugar, alcohol and caffeine carbohydrates I avoid and I get alot of flack for it from friends and family because they are ignorant. Blessings
I agree 100% with you!
The brain runs on ketones. Hence fasting.
Congrats on your lifestyle change. I know it wasn’t easy. I’m on the same path.
So what should we do????
Low fat dairy is bad.
People need fat to absorb fat soluble vitamins and so much more.
In a multi year study women lost more weight on a full cream milk diet than low fat milk
Psilocybin containing mushrooms saved my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit. It has also helped me survive depression.
Psychedelic’s definitely have potential to deal with mental health symptoms like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them again but it’s just so hard to source out here
The Trips I've been having have really helped me a lot,I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well
@@stephanieperry8515 Tripping is not really bad but find a good mycologist Who will teach you the right things you need to know
I have tripped with nhr_syndicate couple of times. Their products are top notch
came across the comments about nhr_syndicate and I must say he is a genius.
that makes me feel my life would be over 😆following that diet
All these "foods to avoid" are only on this list hecause they can alter the effectiveness of medication, but what if you are not using medication to manage your symptoms?
Sugar and crappy carbs spike insulin and are inflammatory
I must have been taking in very little caffeine because mood swings very little dependent on cups of coffee mix thru yrs
Actually all fried food restorants use polyunsaturated fats to cook with, the same is supposedly "heart healthy." This is why fries are so bad, you would eat the same amount of carbs with a boiled potato, you could fry them like our grandparents did with beef talo, either way it would be healthier than fast food oils aka vegetable oils.
Lol great, click on a video with audio, and I have to read 😂 ADHD just clocked me out, lol. I'll just look up an article since I have to read anyway 😂
The literature examining clinical effects of caffeine in patients with BD is not conclusive. Acute increases in caffeine consumption may precede the occurrence of manic symptoms in patients with BD, potentially through a direct stimulant effect, affecting sleep patterns and/or the metabolism of lithium or other medications, although increases in caffeine intake could also be a consequence of an ongoing manic relapse or a prodromal sign. Further research is needed to determine whether caffeine use impacts the long-term prognosis of BD.
I was diagnosed bupolar and never had an issue with my daily cup of black coffee. I drink it four hours after i wake up. Then again, i dont take any medication so maybe thats why it doesnt give ne issues. Personally i think bipolar is more of a psychological disorder than a chemical imbalance.
You mean that shouldn't eat anything 🤔
😂😂😂
So I'm good as long as i eat ice and drink water. Nice.
Caffeine is the worst for me can play with the moods it makes me irritable
I like caffeine very much not able to avoid
Caffeine and alcohol are NOT foods btw
in these few weeks i eat all of them just so but too much
Well, alcohol is NOT Food.
Umm no… read the med-free bipolar book. Salt is key and beneficial for everyone. Especially bipolar.
Hey, can you please give a link to the book that you have just mentioned please. Is it called med free bipolar book? 😊
I just consume a salty food and suddenly feel depressed so this is the reason 😭
I should give psilocybin a try
That Edison’s Hannibal lectors diet now
Great experience doc, you are a God'sent Dr Ebhariagbe on TH-cam, keep up the good work, I am completely free from HSV2 ..
Everything in moderation.
Basicaly stop eating everything that tastes really good. Put on top os that some gluten and milk intolerance and you only have access to 30% of good tasting easy to make food. Sometimes I think the fact that I will live less if i eat these foods and do drugs is actualy a big pro.
Air
basically all foods.
So basically all food
Lol avoid all the foods that keep me alive because I have bipolar xD
So nothing that tastes or looks good. Why don't I just go vegan.
Vegan diet is basically just all sugar
So fking true lmaooo
Sooo... Basically don't live in the US where everything has sugar. 😂 No salt no caffeine... What am I supposed to do...? Photosynthesise? 🤣🤣
Gluten.... stay away from it!
Definitely, IF YOUR VLOOD TYPE IS "O" DONT EAT BREAD OR WHEAT FLOUR OF ANY SORT
so basically dont eat
that's what U thought exactly 🤦♀️
Guilty of all
The bias in this video seems slanted toward how certain foods lessen the effectiveness of medications taken for bipolar disorder.
I didn’t see qualifications of the author. Was this written by an expert in mental health?

Naaaa I can’t leave my sugar
Sugar and salt avoid means I have to go and ** only shitt
I don’t know where you’re getting your information from but just saying avoid “fats” .. like come on. You must specify that it’s saturated fats - considering the amount of research on the benefits of a ketogenic diet.
This garbage pisses me off proper.. shame on you.
There are studies that show that a ketogenic diet has had positive effects on bipolar folks. It was a small study so more research is needed.
@@slouischarlesYT that gut/mind connection is realllll
Wait! Fat? All fat or just animal fats????
All
Brain needs fat I would just eat salmon and sardines which contain omega 3 that’s very healthy for the brain
was this video was made by a high schooler
So.... Whe are made to be super fit? Hahaha
Alcohol..No..caffeine..
YES..works better than any drug for deppression
1. Coffee
2. Alcohol
3. Sugar
4. Salt
5. Fat

Do mushrooms , it's the new thing for depression. Everyone is into healthy natural remedies and blames pharma for all the problems out there
but its not for bipolar only for depression it helps but psychedelics in general trigger mania :(

Eliminate carbohydrates. The ketogenic diet is resolving bipolar, schizophrenia and more. Ensure you get oily fish and animal fats for your brain to function.
All the vegetables ‘eat’ animals (via the soil, fertilisers or shrimp meal fed to ‘organic’ veges in glasshouses,) we should too.
Thresholds people. Gotta keep it balanced, if you give the idea your time and energy it grows, so pick the ones that work and help you be you.
