Air B'n'B stuff might be cheaper but doesn't appeal to me and I'm a big strong guy. Too iffy and random. Rather try to get a lower end hotel on a block booking by speaking to them directly and trying to get a block discount. Never pay rack rate on a hotel, it's always cheaper when you walk-in and ask.
