Although I'm a 57 yrs old guy with health issues, I'm seriously considering life on the road out of my car. I currently live in northern MN, so you can imagine how cold it gets, and the snow; which is why is want a more comfy environment. It is encouraging to me to hear tips and see just how others do it without too much headaches. Thank you.
Iam about to buy a Prius prime 2023 ... With 133+ mpge and also having the same torque as a 86 hachiroku Toyota trueno is amazing 😻🤩, also it looks way sexy as the Prius does aswell
adaptability and problem solving are the two main tools you need! I have been having a blast figuring out how to live in my rav 4 this winter. The coldest night was -11 and I still woke up in just shorts! luckily I have a place that my county offers a safe place to park for people who live and work in the county. I have a little buddy heater hooked up to a 20lb (you can use the 1lb) that I keep out side of my car with the hose running into my car. I have to keep the window cracked to run the hose but even with that i still need to have another window cracked because it gets hot! which is good because with propane you want ventilation. biggest plus is not having to wait for my car to warm up in order to move around and not ever having to scrape ice off my windows every day🤠
Sleeping in your car in the rain is so relaxing, specially when you are sleeping on top of five blankets and my climate control set to 68. I love sleeping to the sound of rain 🥱😴.. Night night.
Has anyone tried a window ac enclosed and vented to the outside? I have seen some van life people do that. I seriously cannot take another summer like last year. It was so hot my fridge would stay on all the time and suck down all my energy in my jackery. It was so hot I couldn't sleep. I bought a larger power station and will try it this summer. If it doesn't work I might rent somewhere to live.
You would need a massive power station an easy way to recharge the station as those units are higher wattage and will drain the PS pretty quickly. Great if you have a way to plug in though! Or if you are already set up with a huge power set up.
@@lifemyway200 I think the 5000 BTU AC only takes 500 watts. I have a 1000 watt power station that can be charged and discharged at the same time. I have a 100 watt solar panel on my roof. So I'm thinking it could easily run the AC for 2 hours and still have energy stored. You wouldn't need to keep it running continuously. Those window AC's work really well. I'm going to try it. I have heat and with AC I will feel right at home.
me right now. its already starting to get warm here and ive been waking up at 9am from the sun and how how it is. I'm definitely looking for somewhere to rent during the summer. i have nothing to sheild my car from the sun. it could be 63 degrees outside but feel like 77 inside the car 😢
Would you ever do a video about how to have safe sex in your car? Having a healthy sex life is important while living in your car. “Safe” doesn’t mean just contraception, but how to make love to your significant other without rocking the car and risk police encounters and/or drawing attention to your car so others will come to look. Also the best positions to avoid hurting yourself and/or your partner. Thank you, Ava!
I agree. However, there may be times when there are no vacancies or the mood hits and your not near any motels. Not everyone lives in/around big cities.
Living full time in my van, I would have to agree with you. I rather have a bit colder weather, than hot and sticky! Stay safe out there Ava!🚙👍
Oh Ava your warm personality can melt any winter chills !
Hi Ava, great video! Great tips. Thanks for sharing and your presentation is concise!
I miss falling asleep to the Seattle rain hitting my trunk.
you've been very lucky that we've had a mild winter in most parts of the northeast

Thank you! :D
Thanks Ava! Stay warm out there.
Your tenacity is admirable, character wise.
I have found that approx. 10 degrees celcius was an excellent temperature for car sleeping!
Stay safe and warm!
I just started vanlife. I am worried the heat from the van will spoil the food
What do you do for work?
American girls simply charming 😍
