Jumped into Fuji a year ago with a used X-T10 and a 35mm f2 lens. Love it. It’s small, easy, and fun to shoot with. Also just ordered a 16mm f2.8 lens.
Thanks for inspiring me to get my X70 out. I have not used in a while. I love this little camera. I think I will start carrying it daily again. It’s great for street photography.
I started photography as a hobby a couple of years ago on a Canon and I really enjoyed it, but didn't really fall in love with it till I found Fuji. Now I go out all the time and experiment with my 3 Fuji bodies and Fuji/Viltrox lenses. So much so, I'm working hard to get good enough to go Pro. Thanks Fuji.
I bought my Fujifilm X10 in 2012 as an impulse purchase while wandering around B&H...solely on design. A but later I bought the Fujifilm X100s because I thought I needed something more sophisticated. However, I kept reaching for the X10 and sold the X100s. The X10 is so compelling, for the exact reasons that you so eloquently pointed out. Sure it's only a ⅔ sensor. Yet it gives me beautiful images. But the f2.0-f2.8 28-112 zoom is jaw-dropping. And the film simulations are an absolute ball to use. And lest we forget the design...after 12 years I still can't stop admiring it.
I only just picked up my first Fuji, an X10 from the facebook marketplace last week. Have been taking pretty mundane photos of my immediate surroundings & there is really something about the colours that just looks MAGIC!
I do the same with the canon s120. It just so inconspicuous and is truly in the sense of the word pocketable. My pany's have an 8 screen menu of settings and thats just for photos. It cuts into the fun factor sometimes.
@@nightshift7963Your Canon S120 is a superlative camera. I still have the Canon Powershot S95. It's so compact, pocketable, has a great 2.0-4.9 lens, and takes tack-sharp images. There's a reason that high-end point and shoot cameras are making a comeback.
I have bought and sold 3 Fuji X70s’ so far. I was lucky enough to buy what might have been the last brand new X70 in a UK camera shop (Chesham Cameras) a few years ago and have this time thankfully kept it. Since buying it I have also had an X100T, a Leica Q, a Fuji Xe2. I just keep coming back to the X70. I look back through my archive of photos and the best shots I have taken are mostly on the X70. The images could have been taken with any camera but they were taken with the X70 and are what they are because of the way the camera feels, the freedom it gives you and the state of mind that it puts you in when you carry it. I just wish that Fuji will make a new version, do not change anything other than updating the sensor, it’s pretty much perfect as it is.
My everyday carry is the Fujifilm xt1 paired with the 27mm pancake lens. I shoot mostly street photography. I am no professional, I used Nikon and canon before, I find myself shooting more with Fuji. It's important to me to use a camera that sparks joy, especially if I'm shooting for myself. 🙂
Fujifilm cameras have a soul and feel that makes you want to pick it up. I change between the X100v and the XT4. Like you said the light setup and image quality are unmatched in that size. Great video! And going to check out Cuts.
Hi Dee, I couldn't agree more. Yesterday, I went to an Ikea store with my wife (of 50 years :) I was expecting the usual boring walking around, that my wife loves to do. Luckily, I took my old Fuji X10 with me (in my opinion the best pocket camera) and I actually had a great time!!! I took a ton of photos. Most of them of the wife with the biggest smile on her face after I told her to take her time and I won't bug her to hurry up :) thanks for the videos !!!!!!!!!! pete
I started my Fujifilm journey back in 2015 with an X100T, after decades of film photography in various format (24x36, medium, large), and digital photography (many DSLR's). Today I still have and use my X100T, and added an X-PRO2 to my bag so I can vary focal length, it is a perfect gear, I'll never go back to anything else.
A Canon user for 10 years, I recently got hold of a used X70, and o boy, do I love this little camera and carry it everywhere. It suddenly multiplied the number of images I take, the experiments I do and most importantly the sheer experience of enjoying photography. Truly resonate the message here ❤
One of the most compelling aspects with the system, all too obviously, is the digitized film stock simulations. If you're a fine jpeg shooter, you've surely at least got to try any Fuji X camera..almost guaranteed enjoyment awaits!
I bought an X100 in 2012 and fell in love. I had tons of lenses and big cameras and long lenses and shot sports and concerts and had all this stuff. Then came the X100. 35mm fixed focal length. An aperture dial. A dial for the shutter. I began to reflect on my photography. Learned to see the frame and the content. I stopped and slowed the flow. I took one picture at a time. Discreet. When I stood side by side with the big cameras in the stage trench at a concert and heard the cameras clatter, I was proud when I snapped a picture.
I owned X10, X70…both sold. But buy again secondhand X70 in super premium condition just like when i sold it. Always love My X70 color science. Nice video
I kind of regret selling my X70 many years ago. I just thought they would have done an X70S by now. I wanted the camera to be able to do usable video in addition to stills. I guess I’ll continue to daily my X-E3 with the 27mm.
Your first shot shows an Olympus XA and a Leica M, manual rangefinders, that don't produce the same experience at all as most Fuji cams. I've tried most camera brands and formats too, but I definitely believe it's definitely a matter of personal preference. Fuji makes great cameras, but there are other options in other brands too. You're definitely right one should try if they can, but then some don't like the Fuji experience or sensor/lens rendering and style (including the simulations). Cheers.
I decided to purchase an X-E2 at the beginning of this year. I am mostly a Sony shooter, but I LOVE the Fuji. It’s an older camera, but it’s just fun to shoot with.

Fully agree. I was shooting Nikons professionally for years, Then I saw what Fuji had on offer and bought an X-T2, thinking I'd trial it alongside the Nikons. I never used my Nikons again. I've since retired, and have a range of Fuji's to play with, and I'm having FUN :) Cheers
I've been shooting Fujifilm for about 7 years now, and it's hard to not have at least one at all times. My X70 is probably the only camera I will never get rid of, even when I replace it with a Ricoh GR. One thing to note is that those recipe websites are super inaccurate. If you're coming from film you will confused why they look expired. So I probably wouldn't recommend them. You're more likely to get filmic shots if you just go with what Fujifilm offers, than hazy green and brown white balances with Classic Chrome forced into where it has no business being like Ektar, Ektachrome, Portra.
I agree absolutely! It was switching a long time back to the Fujifilm XT-1 that led me to fall deeply in love with photography again!!! One additional point: the ergonomics! The extraordinary tactile feel of being in full command of the exposure triangle while photographing on the go is not just fun. It leads to better composition and easy fine tuning - something I've never felt with PASM systems (OK the XH-2/XH-2s are PASM) so I've upgraded to the XT-5. As for Fujinon glass, it's right up there with Leica if not a tich better - and the color science is IMO incomparable. And yes: I now do everything "in camera" 📷 Cartier-Bresson would have approved of that!
The decision I made few years back and I feel happy and lucky about it is buying fujifilm X70, it's my travel buddy and I love the experience it gives me.
Having a used X-T20 with XF23 f2 for almost a year. Love it!! It works perfectly fine as a travel and walkaround camera, but it's not as good as an edc camera though. Now I'm interested in the X70. It's quite old and rare with some 'downgrade' (older sensor, less shapness and slower lens, slow focusing), but it could be a great edc camera.
Awesome passionate pleading for a Fujifilm camera ❤ As a Nikon Z- full frame shooter I am really tempted to get soon a Fujifilm, as your arguments are so powerful! Because my Z6 + Z 24-120- combo many times is too cumbersome and heavy for taking candid shots of people - what even is the case when I pair the Z6 with a 35 oder 50mm prime. Best regards from Switzerland.
XT1 was my Fuji's first love years ago, borrow from friend for extended period, love the design, and image quality. Today X100S is my EDC, and yes size matter for me when roaming in my town for street shoot.
Almost sold my x100v. However there is just something about that camera. Just configured a portra 400 simulation. No mfg gives you more configuration control over jpg settings
Want to appreciate Fujifilm? Work backwards. After using various Fujifilm bodies for about 3 years, just for a change a few days ago, I took my Nikon D700 and a single normal prime lens out for some street shooting. 10 minutes out, I couldn't believe that I use to drag this monster out with fast zooms. I felt way over burdened with weight and size and self conscious wielding it among crowds of people. Besides the physical issues, I have become spoiled by the WYSIWYG finder in the Fujis (and most mirrorless). It was strange going back to the DSLR and not seeing any change in the finder when I applied exposure compensation. With the Fujis, there is almost never a need to bracket exposure... you see it clearly in the EVF and know you got it. It is amazing that a simple X-E class body with a basic 18mm, 23mm or 35mm can give equal or better image quality of a DSLR with corresponding full frame lenses. And even bumping up to an X-T series body is still not too much to lug around, still coming in smaller and lighter than that Nikon. Yep, everyone should experience this.
Thanks for sharing your genuine opinion about the Fuji compact camera. Which camera model is it? You mostly mentioned this little camera so curious to know which one is it. Thanks 🙏
What's the senor used in your X-70 by chance 🤔 if you know? Maybe the same sensor that's in my X-M1, the 1st generation 16 megapixels X-Trans sensor like 👍 in the X-PRO 1 & XE-1 AS well?
I agree with all the sentiments here. I’ve been using x-Pro 2, both professionally and for fun, since I can’t remember when. It’s like it’s part of me now. I haven’t seen anything else that’s changing my mind. Why do I need anything else? My only thing is greater pixel depth and an improved EVF but I’m hoping the next iteration will deliver on that and everything else. Cheers!
What color profile(s) did you use for your photos? Love your photos and the punchy colors. Great video. I have had X100t since came out. Wonderful camera although no doubt significant improvements in later releases. My Nikon sadly stays at home most of time.
Only had my XT3 for less than half a year but I love holding and looking at it. This means I want to bring it with me every time I go out. Originally gunning for canon, which imo offers the best system, but I think I won't need any other camera anymore. Also extremely happy with my 56mm 1.2 so I think I basically ran out of GAS.
100% Agree. I have the gear, Sony, Canon....they are just too big for personal or travel, they aren't discreet or travel practical. The XPro3 is my personal daily camera.
I’ve been in the Nikon ecosystem for a while and am thinking of buying into Fuji cameras. Would you recommend a Fuji GFX 50r or 50S ii for someone that does landscape photography?

The only thing with fujifilm that frustrates me big time for me is Olympus and lumix have top notch apps for sending raw and 4k to my tablet and phone with WiFi. Fuji only lets you transfer jpeg and it limits it to a 115 photos. Please fuji make a decent app for god sakes! Congratulations on your new sponsorship. I just realized after being married for 18 years I haven’t bought my own clothes in 18 years 😂
@@Timoleon87 The wife has been so spoiled if we’re out for a day and while having lunch she wants me to edit a few photos for her. Can’t just WiFi a few raws with Fuji and she just doesn’t quite understand why.
There’s no doubt in my mind that I agree with your sentiments. I use Lumix M43 for simple reasons and I’m locked into my GX8 and G9 which I’m tripped with. I may buy a Fuji X100V someday just for the fun of itcc
Well thought out and explained presentation as always. I always get the idea of sincerity behind your thoughts. Not a pump and dump channel, but always has good information content.....thanks.
I have an X-A10 that I use as a family and walk around camera. I recently made the full switch and use Fujifilm for my work camera as well. Great video, and helpful reminder not to take myself too seriously 😅
What do you think about the Nikon Coolpix A? I think it’s a great alternative for the x70 or Ricoh gr camera’s. I usually edit the raw photos to make them look like Kodak film stocks.
I picked up an x100v as a casual camera to use when it didn’t make sense to lug my big ole’ Nikon FF DSLR. 2 more Fuji bodies and 4 lenses later (6 if I include the 2 I sold) I can confidently say that the compact Fuji’s are absolutely gateway drugs into the X system. Sure, I lose a little shallowness in DOF and a bit of dynamic range vs full frame, but I gain so much in terms of just pure, unadulterated photographic experience. And the cameras are just so gorgeous to look at. They just beg me to pick them up.
That was a wonderful video presentation. I know that my experiences with Fujifilm cameras have been quite enjoyable. What filter are you using on the front of that X 70 camera in your video? It looks really cool.
I oh so nearly bought an XT4.... but ended up getting a Panasonic GH4 w/ VLOG instead for video mostly.... and as of a few hrs ago I have an exact replica of the GH4 coming from ebay that I won today for less than 1/4 of the mfgr msrp!!!! So I have less than half of what one new would cost between both cameras and both have vlog unlocked in them. Still eyeballing the XT4 tho for a decent all rounder camera
I had the Ricoh GR1s brilliant camera which I sold twenty years later for more than I paid for it. However a camera with no EVF in my mind stops my creativity as that is my preferred way to compose a shot, so I'll stick with Fuji for now. But yeh sure, Ricoh is good. Especially at 28mm
I need to say this: I think you are using too much pro-mist filter.
I don’t care.
Can't use too much pro mist😁
There’s not even a pro mist used? Lol
Caramba, tu por aqui kkkkkk
I'm a noob and I like the way it looks

@@DeeRosa no which Fuji and lens, I know you said it quick but I can't find it and didn't wanna watch it over and over haha
I’ve been in the Nikon ecosystem for a while and am thinking of buying into Fuji cameras. Would you recommend a Fuji GFX 50r or 50S ii for someone that does landscape photography?
If you’re using a tripod get the 50R so that you can save some weight in your pack.
@@DeeRosa Thanks for the advice! You are the only TH-camr that has taken the time to reply and just wanted to say you have great videos with a lot of great information! Keep up the great work 👍
The camera doesn't matter, it's what's in front of it that makes you a photographer.
@@ThePurpleHarpoon So true!
Thanks man. I think some guys get so many comments it’s hard to respond. My channels little and I’m on here trolling in the comments so I see a lot more lol.
My favorite channel
Bro you’re not Henri Cartier-Bresson 😂
The only thing with fujifilm that frustrates me big time for me is Olympus and lumix have top notch apps for sending raw and 4k to my tablet and phone with WiFi. Fuji only lets you transfer jpeg and it limits it to a 115 photos. Please fuji make a decent app for god sakes!
Congratulations on your new sponsorship. I just realized after being married for 18 years I haven’t bought my own clothes in 18 years 😂
It would be really nice. I use a usb-c card reader and don't use the app if it ain't just a couple of jpegs for Instagram
@@Timoleon87 The wife has been so spoiled if we’re out for a day and while having lunch she wants me to edit a few photos for her. Can’t just WiFi a few raws with Fuji and she just doesn’t quite understand why.
Supposedly there’s a new app coming. Not holding my breath tho.
X70, X100S and X100F ....my trio 😆😊
Thank You Man !
Any recommendations for a beginner? X100v is impossible to get. What are your thoughts on the xt30ii? Didn’t see a video on your channel
It’s got the same sensor so yeah that’s a great choice.
I have an X-A10 that I use as a family and walk around camera. I recently made the full switch and use Fujifilm for my work camera as well. Great video, and helpful reminder not to take myself too seriously 😅
I shoot Fuji and Ricoh. Have you tried the Ricoh GRIII?
Yup.
What do you think about the Nikon Coolpix A? I think it’s a great alternative for the x70 or Ricoh gr camera’s. I usually edit the raw photos to make them look like Kodak film stocks.
I liked it
Coolpix A is a great camera. Nikon should put out another and so should Fuji with the xf10
Could not have said it better myself. Nice video brother.
What’s the wallet at the beginning?
fuji is truly the best camera brand
I picked up an x100v as a casual camera to use when it didn’t make sense to lug my big ole’ Nikon FF DSLR. 2 more Fuji bodies and 4 lenses later (6 if I include the 2 I sold) I can confidently say that the compact Fuji’s are absolutely gateway drugs into the X system.
Sure, I lose a little shallowness in DOF and a bit of dynamic range vs full frame, but I gain so much in terms of just pure, unadulterated photographic experience. And the cameras are just so gorgeous to look at. They just beg me to pick them up.
Do all Fujifilm cameras have in camera film simulations?
I believe so!
Yes. Some may have more than others though
That was a wonderful video presentation. I know that my experiences with Fujifilm cameras have been quite enjoyable. What filter are you using on the front of that X 70 camera in your video? It looks really cool.
Just a UV filter
Very informative and compelling video! Were all of those images taken on your X70 because it sound like you have more Fuji gear?
Some were taken on the X70! Others on an X100F or X-Pro 3.
I'm a Nikon guy and my EDC is a Sony A6600 camera with Carl Zeiss 24mm 1.8. No need for a Fuji.
Lmao. “Okay”
Fujifilm X's are the Jack and the Giantkiller of the camera world (Leica is the "giant")
in-camera edits fo life! but....Fujifilm, please let us enter and save our own recipes that we can apply to shots AFTER taking them
I oh so nearly bought an XT4.... but ended up getting a Panasonic GH4 w/ VLOG instead for video mostly.... and as of a few hrs ago I have an exact replica of the GH4 coming from ebay that I won today for less than 1/4 of the mfgr msrp!!!! So I have less than half of what one new would cost between both cameras and both have vlog unlocked in them.
Still eyeballing the XT4 tho for a decent all rounder camera
DIttO..... Eye’ve got 5, none other even comes close. I do also have a Sony A7II , tho, for my full frame vintage lenses.
Great stuff man.
Do you say Nikon like “Nik-Kon” or “Ny-Kon”?
I learned it’s pronounced Nik Kon. It has never been pronounce Ny Kon so I self corrected.
Those H-E-B shots look retro
if only they would revive the X70 line
RIGHT!
I miss my X70 😢
There's no camera that is better than the Ricoh GR series in terms of size and IQ. The only reason to buy a Fujifilm is style...
Cool.
@@richiehodges84 To me it's quite the opposite, using the back screen opens up a new vision and it expands my creativity.
@@takaya4203 in the words of Monty Python, We are all different 😄

Recently got an x70 and am loving it! What filter are you using?
Just a UV filter from Tiffen.
Always got a X70 in my coat
Guys what is the camera he is holding
Fujifilm X70
