I love the banished knights, pretty much everything to do with them, the armor, the weapons, the summons, everything, and the greatsword is my favorite weapon in the game, however, I never powerstance them, the unique light attack chain is my favorite part, so I always two-hand it

The number of times these guys have killed me with their instant hyper armor, AoE stun into true combo wind attack. Remember, level Vigor I love their hooded helm varient, though. Cloth on metal is my asthetic
Also, agree on greatsword power stance being really fun. I took my inspo from the platinum and vigor runs on my first playthrough and started with Morning Star, but swapped to dual greatswords when I got Blasphemous Blade and the Sword of Milos. Honestly one of my favorite movesets in the game.

I always imagined the Banished Knights were originally knights of Godrick the Grafted, and they were only banished because they were so amazingly good that they made their leader look inadequate as a result; most of them said "No" to leaving tho.
From what I understand, they served the Storm Lord, who was directly opposed to the Golden Order. It's why they're around Stormhill Castle and why they frequently use Storm-Related ashes like Stormcaller. They were banished because of their allegiance to an opponent to the Golden Order, but they were so effective units that they weren't outright killed off or executed, just banished. Their Commanders being aligned to either Miquella (Niall) or Malenia (O'Neil) may be proof of this.
@@theenbee8222 the prevailing theory is that they're there primarily to keep an eye on Godrick, not necessarily serve him. Malenia beat him to a pulp and only took mercy when he groveled at her feet. A group of Banished Knights at one point served Malenia, which is why O'Neil is in the Aeonia Swamp and why he can summon ghosts of Exiled Knights. So it's very much possible that Malenia had them stationed in Stormhill Castle with Godrick to make sure he didn't do anything stupid.
I'm stuck at that lady whose name I didn't quite catch, but I'm on a Banished Knight/Engvall run and have really enjoyed it! Thanks for the inspiration. It's a strong, forgiving build and looks cool as hell.
Thought about doing Kaiden sellsword on a secret class poll? 20 minutes max farming time even with bad luck for full set along the limgrave river cliffs and ash summon at the start of Liurnia. Haven't covered CGS in a while (bloodhound was the last iirc) and this one is actually infusible with decent scaling's on multiple infusions.

The deal with the duck shoes are that this armour is inspired by 16th century western european armour which had those because that form of legwear was fashionable for no real reason beyond that they were.
I'm still here to point out that this "anticip....passion" is a rocky horror picture show reference because people that don't know, need to know about that masterpiece.
I love the trend of runs where the start is brutal and then you just start to cook, it's a fun ride to see the agony and then what essentially becomes a victory lap for most of the game
I was recently hit with the desire to play Elden ring again after a few months and I’m glad I was recommended this video my next character will be a banished knight thank you
My first play though I used this set with double swords. Fastest way to farm i found was back stab then two heavy hits to stagger then crit then one normal hit dead. but sometimes they block the second heavy hit. Very fun when you add flame to the swords
For the knight that spawn in the cathedral halway, wait till he gets out than do hit and run mounted heavies. That is the way I farm him and it works very well.

A tip for anyone farming in general instead of running back to a Grace press Map Button > Y/Triangle > Double A/X. Makes the grinding process a little bit quicker and less thinky
I know this a month old but I wanted to add this in here. I know you've talked about the Radagon Soreseal in the past and how it's risky because you take more damage, but the part you're missing is it also increases how much damage you can take. Basically until you hit the vigor soft cap of 40 the Soreseal increases survivability even with the 15% increase to damage taken. After that though enemies hit harder and vigor gives less HP so it starts harming you.
I'm not sure if it's been done or pitched to you yet, but I would love to see you do an Inigo Montoya build for your character series. I've been doing a run with him and it has been pretty fun. Bandit starting class, buy the rapier from the twin maidens, and full send through everything. I'm sure there would be a clever summon to use, maybe the bloodhound knight as the man in black? Fire giant could be fezzik, radagon probably has 6 fingers on his right hand, etc. I just think it would fit the vibe of your videos and would be a ton of fun to watch. As always, I love your content and can;t wait for the next one!
I absolutely love the Banished Knights Greatsword, not even Dualwielding - just two handing and with the Storm Blade Ash of War for the maximum Stormveil drip
You actually went to far to get the banished knight set. There are about 4 or 5 banished knights in stormveil castle alone. You can even get the other banished helm from one of the knights there. Go to where the exiled prisoners are and when you go out the door make a left and go down that hallway go all the way past the Stonekey door and make a right take the ladder up and follow the path all the way and you’ll find 3 more banished knights including one with the helm with the red scarf
I think it would be really fun to see a build where you try to stack as many statuses on at once. Like there's a build where you power stance the antspur rapier w/ the frozen needle. You use the occult whetblade to give it poison with a bleeding AoW or bleeding with a poison AoW. You've got frostbite, rot, poison, bleeding with a fast power stance, and you really only need dex for it.

I got Oleg as my first spirit ash and damn how helpful he was in my first playthrough! Hyper aggressive, very tanky and stance breaking monster. Screw Mimic Tear, screw Tiche - HE is the best summon!
Banished knight engvall was amazing for a magic build against rennala. Melee build destroyed her everytime. I discovered its an entirely different fight with magic lol. I wasn't using rock sling either so no stance breaking, discovered that with a different build. Engvall is great at aggro, and kept her off me but the stupid summon ended up getting the last hit.
Yeah it was annoying. My two spells ended up becoming night sisters comet and the one teleporting one when the enemies ran at me, ended up using that strategy with the wing of astel curved sword and it worked out very well. I don't like magic by itself, it works better with a weapon or I just suck with it. Who knows.
Fighting against soldiers, phantoms and giant aberrations, face in duel with demigods, see how the search of power tarnish all who take part of war... But i get the unaltered banished knight armor! A worthy crusade for DRIP!
Im sure you get plenty of these but what about an all unique boss run, where you fight 1 of each unique boss. Maybe the most difficult version, or the first time you see them.
Easier way to fight the knights: Bait out their wind jumping attack and dodge roll behind them to get in a back stab and an additional light attack while they're standing up.
I would have said getting more silver fowl feet would’ve helped with the farming, but the fact that you have to farm to get more of the thing that helps you farm faster is too oxymoronic.

I had the same farming problem creating this build and I started with the Hero for the higher Arcane stat.
Not a bad call, though later you don't really need that arcane.

Power stanced Banished Knight's Greatswords are awesome. Great status build up to because you know, two weapons doing build up.
Endurance is honestly the second best stat (after vigor) Bigger weapons, heavier armor, big bonk trades very good

Banished knight engvall was amazing for a magic build against rennala. Melee build destroyed her everytime. I discovered its an entirely different fight with magic lol. I wasn't using rock sling either so no stance breaking, discovered that with a different build. Engvall is great at aggro, and kept her off me but the stupid summon ended up getting the last hit.
Rock sling also doesn't give the best stance breaking lol.
Yeah it was annoying. My two spells ended up becoming night sisters comet and the one teleporting one when the enemies ran at me, ended up using that strategy with the wing of astel curved sword and it worked out very well. I don't like magic by itself, it works better with a weapon or I just suck with it. Who knows.
Fighting against soldiers, phantoms and giant aberrations, face in duel with demigods, see how the search of power tarnish all who take part of war...
But i get the unaltered banished knight armor! A worthy crusade for DRIP!

Im sure you get plenty of these but what about an all unique boss run, where you fight 1 of each unique boss.
Maybe the most difficult version, or the first time you see them.
I mean, that sounds like a shorter version of all bosses

Easier way to fight the knights:
Bait out their wind jumping attack and dodge roll behind them to get in a back stab and an additional light attack while they're standing up.
the thing that i don't understand is the reason you chose samurai. The vagabond is literally a knight that was banished

I would have said getting more silver fowl feet would’ve helped with the farming, but the fact that you have to farm to get more of the thing that helps you farm faster is too oxymoronic.

I live and breathe Banished knights... Whenever I want to try anything new I always end up coming back with the knight drip and swords/Halberd
You sadly cant get the cooler chest piece for them until Castle Sol
We still have a pretty nice piece.
