The fact that you just mentioned the firebiner with the box cutter that you never going to use then proceed to receive a box and not use the firebiner but rather use a knife , great stuff 😂
Great list! Some of the gadgets I never leave without: - Thermarest Z-seat folding pad, keep it clipped to my pack for whenever I stop, and it makes a decent pillow - Thin goatskin leather gloves are just enough to keep hands warm, protect from scratches and thorns, and pick up hot pots off the fire without burning myself - SeekIR USB-C thermal camera for my cell phone, for checking on things that go bump in the night, and spotting cold air traps in hilly areas where I wouldn't want to pitch my tent. If you carry a regular camera this is useful for spotting animals you'd otherwise miss. - 8x36 Vortex monocular
@@adamy2927 depending on the size of the animal and the amount of foliage, anywhere from 20 to 200 yards. A deer is easier to identify than a mouse, obviously, but at least you can tell if what you're hearing is 2 legged or not.
Hey Dan, instead of using the tube to stoke your fire why not use your air mattress pump you are already taking? I use my mini pump for blowing on the fire and it works great.
You can use the pocket bellows with the flextail pump's needle attachment so you dont have to wear your lungs out and you get a way more powerful air stream. Or if you don't have the needle attachment, just wrap your hand around both to connect them and make a tight seal.
Yep, well at least the FlexTail air pump I have came with a few different attachments for it and one of them fits perfectly into back end of my modified selfie stick.
You know what Dan, I like you, I really do, my wife on the other hand doesnt like you giving me all these incredible ideas I tell her I need! haha Appreciate the reviews/content and glad you are back!
Dont ever stop buying stuff. When you have everything you need, a month later a 2.0 version will come out and you will need to buy that as well. Keep buying!

Two of the Clambowl Toggles. A set of Mudjack Jiggers ( the blue set, the red set was too expensive) Ethiopian stethoscopes And a Combat Zinger-stick. Have fun and camp safe everyone!
cheap dollar store or amazon back scratchers make an awesome fire bellows and i use it to rake coals or move small logs around the fire , I also bent the fingers to hook pot lids and stuff
I bought that Flextail pump from their Indiegogo project last fall. Still hasn't shown up. I hear you can order from their website and it does ship like you'd expect. Not good communication from them over the months and the project is full of similar comments. It makes me question the company. Sounds like a good product, though.
Ordered mine directly around Thanksgiving, just received…it only shipped after me clicking link like a stalker, JMO. Thought it was crap, until I charged battery and squeezed nozzle into valve of my STS pad. They do need to work on timeline of order and shipping. 🤷♀️. I only ordered because my tiny pump’s attachment never stays on.
I don't recall if you've mentioned the Govee before and that's why I have one (two really), but there's pricier gadget from SensorPush that includes a barometer if you want even more data. I've been using these in tandem on the back porch when I'm not camping and they are almost perfectly synched. They are so sensitive to temps, I've seen spikes in the morning when the sun gets under the eaves where mine hang for a few mins and they jump when I've got a fire going nearby in the fire pit. I notice on the Flextail Zero that all your shots show the nozzle untethered, but I found that little flat loop on the end goes around the body just fine. I assume that's what it was for, but who knows.
I think it's quite useful actually. If you get ticks on you you'd be glad to know where you can find your tweezer. These tiny instruments tend to get lost or you can't find them when you need them most. Or you rather might want to risk catching Lyme disease and pass away prematurely. Up to you.
Though the little pocket bellow is definitely nice to have. When you need to stoke a fire and get it burning better. I found a old (and broken) selfie stick and cut the end off that holds a cell phone. And did the same thing for the handle piece and then put a small piece of heat shrink tubing on the tip so that it doesn't end up cutting me or something else in my backpack. Not only is it a little bit bigger in diameter I'm pretty sure it is also longer than the one you have been using. Plus I left the red rubber handle piece on the end to make it easier to find and one of the attachments on my FlexTail air pump. Fits perfectly on the end of my selfie stick pocket bellow, so I put that in with my air pump.
Of all the gear you've shown, the one I've had for years in the Pocket Bellows. It's such an essential tool that not only do I have one, I give them as gifts to my friends who hike/bushcraft. Simple, easy, and stores in your pocket. It does the job. The only reason I don't use one at my house is that I have a hollow metal broom handle that serves very well as a bellows or blow tube for my own fires in my backyard. I have the pocket bellows when I ruck up and hit the trail. It's always in a breast pocket. I will say the little inflation pump is really attractive. For some reason it's passed my notice. The biner is one handy little gadget.
That pump looks awesome, I’m tired of inflating my Sea-to-Summit pad outside the tent (using the air bag). With this you can inflate it inside the tent, keeping the pad clean and dry ! Thanks for introducing this.
That’s hilarious, that pot is also exactly what I’ve been saying for a while is exactly what a small pot needs, I ended up going with the Boundless Voyage Titanium Coffee Cup 750ml and just taking out the coffee making related stuff. It’s good to know that what I thought and wanted is what an expert independently wanted as well.
Great list! Some very interesting products for sure, I like that carabineer. I actually picked up a flextail pump just last year after seeing it on your channel. Definitely worth it! I love the pocket bellows, I didn't know they made em until recently. I have my own 'improvised' version I made about 5-6 years ago. One $1.99 extendable hotdog holder and a pair of needle nose pliers later, and it's still going strong many seasons later.

When you were drinking that coffee, I was watching your adam's apple go up and down rhythmically, and I said to myself "Man, he's got some serious gulping power."
Some cracking items there. The carabiner and flint is my go to. Handy like you use it for and a great back up flint if my piezo clicker on my soto stove packs up
I mean I get it. I love gear too. But at what point is it all just extra plastic garbage for consuming? I always crack up at the people who go on a two or three day trip and pack like they are leaving for the lewis and clark expedition haha. Food shelter water first aid. that is really all you need.
I recently realized that my big gut means I don’t actually need to bring any food at all unless I’ll be out for more than two weeks. That’s a bit extreme but seriously, I might die if I get too cold one night; I’m not going to starve to death over a long weekend.

Didn't know I needed a new cook pot until now. Great price for what you're getting! Stoked
When you were drinking that coffee, I was watching your adam's apple go up and down rhythmically, and I said to myself "Man, he's got some serious gulping power."
Just added them all to my list. I'm really excited to give them a try.
Hey Dan, have you tried using the Flextail pump to stoke a fire?
Next level flames…
@Danbecker21.. lol, spam
the carabiner box cutter is also a bottle opener! yup, gonna get one of those.
Ha ha I don't even get out hiking and I "need" to have these products. Great segment.
I bought the bidet, um, culo clean? Have not tried yet as it is winter but looking forward to seeing if it works for me.
The tiny air pump is super cool!
Very impressive also
Some cracking items there. The carabiner and flint is my go to. Handy like you use it for and a great back up flint if my piezo clicker on my soto stove packs up
Agree with you on the other video, would love a larger version of the pot from Evolved!
Hey you didn’t use the box cutter on the carabiner to open the box.
Can you take the firebiner as carry on luggage?
I mean I get it. I love gear too. But at what point is it all just extra plastic garbage for consuming? I always crack up at the people who go on a two or three day trip and pack like they are leaving for the lewis and clark expedition haha. Food shelter water first aid. that is really all you need.
I recently realized that my big gut means I don’t actually need to bring any food at all unless I’ll be out for more than two weeks. That’s a bit extreme but seriously, I might die if I get too cold one night; I’m not going to starve to death over a long weekend.
Would love a video comparing common trail GPS apps in 2024. ON-X, Far Out, Gaia etc. pros and cons, community features etc. Keep up the engaging and helpful content!
Question,
Has anyone used the flex trail to stoke a fire?
