I believe Grainger would have liked watching this video...especially the combination of pipes, violin etc.Apparently,he would arrive at a town and quickly arrange the music for whatever instruments were there to be played.
How infinitely greater as music is the folk original to the classical version,,,just as folk song is infinitely greater than art song,Thomas Hardy wrote about this in the last part of Under the Greenwood Tree,Graingers greatest service was his folk song collecting,,,not his arrangements ,No wonder England lost so much of its folk heritage,,,,,,but then as Beecham said,,,,the English hate music they just like the noise it makes
