I have this piece of crap also! I contacted GE about and was told "to rinse clothes, clothes do not move thru the water, the water moves thru the clothes." This is how a water efficient washer is designed to work. It also dances all over the floor. Went to a used appliance store and purchased a water and energy guzzling machine that i love!
I too have this piece of junk. I have to babysit it every time I start to wash. The first one I sent back the first day. It would agitate while spinning and traveled all over the place. This one fills with only 3 inches of water before agitating, then the water stops for a while. When that happens, the clothes are agitated into a knot, therefore throwing everything off balance. I have to make sure that I untangle the clothes before the spin cycle begins or the machine will tear down my laundry room. I live alone and only wash small to medium loads and they are placed loosely in the machine. But, that doesn't matter as they will still end up in a tangled ball. The manufacturer should do the right thing and recall this highly defective machine. To be clear this is the GE Hotpoint washing machine Model HTWP1400F1WW
I bought this too and same problem. The rinse only fills will about 5 inches of water no matter how large a load you washed. There is no way that little water is rinsing clothes properly. Went through 2 of these washer thinking something was wrong with the first. HORRIBLE WASHER! Ours does not continue to fill though. That 5 inches is all it ever fills with.
I purchased a Hotpoint Washer Mod. HSWP1000M4WW on Thursday 13, 2015. Its doing the same thing as the video except the washer only fills about 3 to 4 inches of water in the rinse cycle and then it starts to agitate, no more water than about 3 or 4 inches is added to the rinse filling. This cant be the way it should work. After seeing this video and having a problem myself, I will exchange the machine for a different brand.

I thought the "Powerrinse" was supposed to correct this ridiculous idea of a rinse cycle.
My new hotpoint won't agitate at all on the rinse cycle

+Brendan Hall Oh, sorry the review the machine in this video has an extra one in the model number. But very close.
This is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen! I'd leave it on power rinse!
