I met Valerie at Farm Aid yesterday and you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer person out there. Great set and really happy we got to the venue early enough to catch her. She's got new fans after that show for sure.
I've never witnessed a woman of color with this most interesting vocal tone and style...she is truly awesome and unique! Not to mention that she is gorgeous. AWESOME!
She could be played on a soul station too. She's the best female artist I've seen since Amy Winehouse. I'd LOVE to see her play her songs on Austin city limits with Lyle Lovetts band or Willie nelson's band asleep at the wheel.
Country music has had its share of black musicians since the very beginning... I mean, we had DeFord Bailey (1899-1982), a very great harmonica player ("Pan-American Blues," "Fox Chase"), and then there was Charley Pride who is still with us today.
@Jonny Sandtrap ..........for you to not to acknowledge it could WELL be a contribution factor shows your ignorance of the music industry. As well what exactly do you mean by "she didn't sell her soul"
What a charming, gifted, vivacious, beautiful, well-spoken, passionate human being with vocals which soar & slide into another dimension! Another realm of pure musical bliss & delight! Thank you, Valerie June for bringing such beauty & light into the world with such grace!! 💖💖💖
I love her music and her personality so much...I can totally relate to how songs come to her because I've had the same thing happened to me except it's poems and stories that I hope that one day I can get them published.
Wow,..she is a beautiful woman and that Southern Belle quality is strong. She has an equally gorgeous and somewhat unique voice and style...There is a bit of Southern mystique in her and her music. I absolutely love her ! She would fit in round here like a velvet glove with the blackwater Georgia swamp music we play.
This is what angels sound like. And this is what a Goddess looks like...

Why can't they play her on country radio. Real musicians like Valerie are so rare these days.
She could be played on a soul station too.

I want to see her perform all her songs with Lyle Lovetts band.
Or you know, there are other big bands that would do her justice. Just one time.
Lady you are Awesome!
Perfect!
Wow! From selling records out of car to The White House!! Amazing. Yes, I love the hair too.
Love everything about that woman.
How is she not a global superstar ?
😍👏🏾👏🏾
"Cause we have a Sonny Boy from Jackson, too." LOL, the irony... 😂
I am wondering if VJ's parents had named her after Johnny Cash's wife June Carter Cash (whose given name on her birth certificate was Valerie)?
Now that's a far reach!
Much love ........Would love to make your music with you at the place . Thank you for your life.
Thank the LORD for Our talent's .
