as much as the democrats are miles better than republicans on almost every issue, their messaging and media coverage is almost as intolerant of criticism or dissenting opinions than the right is. Just look at the treatment of palestine supporters at the DNC, ignored and hidden out of fear that they might make the party look bad. They don’t invite differing ideas and civil disagreement, they propagandize, because Americans politics is just marketing, and you’re right, few people are brave enough to talk about the issues and criticize the party even when it’s not convenient like Jon is.

I did a lot of sports when I was in high school: cross country, swimming, track and field. There were a lot of coaches. I couldn't for the life of me tell you who was a "head" coach, a regular coach, or an "assistant" coach. Nothing wrong with an assistant or any other coach, but there is a pattern of resume padding (and I like Walz overall). Previous stories made it sound like he was the head coach, and he said he carried a weapon in war and mustered out at a different rank than his final rank. Not deal breakers, but the resume has been padded.

I nominated Jon Stewart for a Presidential Medal of Freedom yesterday. I'm hoping President Biden will award Jon the medal for his relentless pursuit of the PACT Act and for continuously advocating for 9/11 First Responders. We need more people like him!

It was the first one I saw all 4 nights, LIVE. I saw from 3:00pm PDT (5:00pm CDT) until almost 8:00pm PDT (10:00pm CDT). Usually, I just catch snippets the next day. Not this time. I saw all the "main programming" Evening Stuff without filter. On TH-cam. My first time also, not seeing on "regular" TV either.

Guy has been working his whole life to promote new businesses and economic development. He's at least trying to give something back.
It's not about the individual billionaires but rather the system that creates them. Now if the individuals support policies that continue to promote such extreme wealth inequality as we've seen while so many struggle then they should be criticized as being part of the problem, regardless of what party they belong to.
@V4Violet No argument here. I just think it's better to focus on the root cause of the problem. Billionaires don't exist because they somehow gamed a fair system, they exist because the system caters to their type. The more wealth one has the easier it becomes to create even more exponentially. It's not like if we were to get rid of every current billionaire things would be fixed. It would be a matter of time before another handful of narcissists try to obtain everything they possibly can.

As an assistant baseball coach and a former assistant football coach, I take offense to Trump's tweet about VP candidate Walz not being a coach because he was an assistant coach. It will be awesome to have someone in the Whitehouse who had a similar vocational life path to me and millions of other 'assistant' coaches.
Also it's kind of fitting for an assistant coach to be a VP.
I still have fond memories of my assistant coaches but hardly remember my head coach.
@jamezkpal2361 often the assistant has more time in the trenches so I think that's not uncommon. I remember getting a lot more 1 on 1 with assistants vs. Head coaches but it's been ages since I played so might be fabricating memories.
Nothing wrong with an assistant or any other coach, but there is a pattern of resume padding (and I like Walz overall). Previous stories made it sound like he was the head coach, and he said he carried a weapon in war and mustered out at a different rank than his final rank. Not deal breakers, but the resume has been padded.

I only saw one "media personality" walking in the food court lower level at the convention and it was Pete Buttigieg. Four security guards encircled him as he walked because so many people were approaching him for interaction.

I'm so glad you're relieved and healing as am I. Would like to encourage you though to not assume Dems will win. We got cocky, made a lot of assumptions, and didn't take them seriously in 2016 and look what happened. We're still in honeymoon stage with Kamala, and when RFK Jr drops out and endorses Trump (quid pro quo for RFK getting a position in his Cabinet) it will be more competitive. Do not believe the polls, do not relax, we need everyone to donate and volunteer and talk to others and GOTV. Excitement does not equal victory, we have to put this momentum into action
