That's interesting that you still did it using the physical cable with ground loop isolator way. I get too poor audio quality of a signal and also still some hum with that method,
so the way I got streaming audio on my Gaming PC is by just using Sonar only on my Gaming PC. On streaming PC I have Streaming PC Desktop audio(Speakers) in OBS with an NDI filter(Streaming PC audio). That's set in Advanced Audio Properties to Monitor and Output with the Streaming PC audio device set as the Monitoring Device under Audio Settings, and the Output is sent to the Gaming PC. The NDI sends the signal to the Gaming PC OBS and so the monitoring is sent to be picked up on my Gaming PC by an NDI Source set to Audio Only. In Gaming PC Advanced Audio Properties set monitoring to Monitor Only. Then go into OBS Settings and change the monitoring device to Media (Sonar), or any other channel which isn't Gaming or Stream.
Mute the stream audio(not headphones audio) in all channels of Sonar except Gaming, set Gaming audio to use Stream Mix and then back in OBS set Stream(Sonar) as the device for Gaming audio. Turn on NDI Main Output setting under Tools on and you should be able to hear your Streaming PC audio without it looping back with your Gaming PC and being sent to your stream with your Gaming audio again. (using this method one can also take advantage of having Gaming Audio and music audio on separate OBS audio tracks(if you play the music on streaming PC's desktop audio) for Twitch and be able to play as far as I know any music while streaming without it being sent to and saved in the Twitch VOD, so no more needing to worry about copyright for playing music)
These instructions are for those who have their mics going into their Gaming PC and that signal also sent via NDI in OBS as a Dedicated NDI signal picked up by the Streaming PC. Like many, my Gaming PC is a much better PC than my Streaming PC(frugal), so it can better handle(most of the time) Voicemod, and other things which might be too much processing for the Streaming PC to handle and needs the most clean and direct Mic signal without latency and can be heard in Discord(on Gaming PC) as well as VOIP in specific gaming it makes sense to use it in like Lethal Company without latency as well. Using NDI I don't have to worry about any extra noise caused by my gaming PC's CPU, plus better performance on Streaming PC without having to use Sonar on both.
I'll definitely try this method though at some point in the future if I have a reason to start over, or if OBS suddenly one day stops being able to use NDI, or it brakes for a while like it did a couple years ago, even though I have a bad history with using physical cables between my PCs.

I have music coming from my stream pc to my gaming pc but in streamer mode I am unable to control volume inside my headset or for stream audio. Super frustrating
can this work while I'm using a capture card to capture my gaming pc and monitor to my stream pc and with out a 3.5mm jack and ground splitter. if there is a workaround, I will gladly use it. Thanks
no those 3.5mm stereo jack and ground loop isolator is like an alternative to Voicemeeter and Xlr/Alias pro
I'm a total novice when it comes to audio. I have a 2 pc setup and just started using a rodecaster duo. Is it possible to use Sonar just for the game sound presets?

I have been trying to route my audio for dual PC streaming for months. I followed everything step by step in your video, and I am not getting any sound to my streaming PC in OBS at all. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
