I love this show. It’s super fun. But the thing this show really nails is its humor. Never in a million years would I have thought recasting a younger Spock and making fun of his love life and personality quirks would be absolutely comedy gold, but hats off to the cast and especially Ethan Peck, because it works great. It’s *really* not easy to play the straight man and also be hilarious with just your eyebrows but the guy just has impeccable timing and great facial expressions. This show really recaptures some of the silly fun of the original series while keeping what made later stuff great.
@@chapterseventeen1913 Oh in itself the bit is fine. I just wish the show would take these characters a little more seriously. It's good show. At this point I guess I wish they just omitted Spock
S03E06 centres around the struggle to lower the Captain’s chair on the bridge to accommodate his hair. Turbo lift adjustments occur in episode 9. Thank goodness they now have Scotty.
Yes i can say the costumes and the set ship design are top notch and impressively well made however i do wish we get a more serious tone to star trek instead of this comedy episodes all the time it's putting me off. Yes have some light-hearted humour added in here and there but not over doing the episodes with them. I think the trouble with doing them is we only get 10 episodes per season and it feels to much and not enough serious tone to star trek having more episodes would balance them out. Not like the old days of trek when we used to get 25 but now it's over to fast and then have to wait another year for another 10 episodes it drags it all out and slows down the show.
Be imaginative, child. One can assume the serum alters both body and mind to create the Vulcan--how? It doesn't matter in a TV show about a fictional being of people amongst the stars. So, when you think about it, makes total sense.
I was under the impression that Vulcans were a brutally savage people who were only saved by adopting a culture and study of discipline and logic. I'd have expected something like logic free Vulcans or Romulans without the hierarchical rigor. Maybe the dose includes years of dedication and training somehow. I'd find a bunch of normally likeable and professional officers dealing with the vulcan-cray-cray a more interesting story. Probably better for character development too.
I totally agree with you. Would have been interesting to see them deal with the intense emotions like Picard during his mind sharing with Sarek - the unrepression of their emotions
I suspect that's probably where the conflict in this episode will come from... The newly-Vulcan officers succumb to the natural tendencies of Vulcanse without the proper training, and Spock has to save the day
I'm hoping there's a missing segment about somehow making the humans logical. Maybe some kind of psychic influence? Temporary, of course, to make the drama of being stuck with Vulkan bodies
the look of spock face, i feel sorry for him. Also they are not vulcan but artificial vulcans. 4 artificial Vulcans and one half vulcan should be the correct term is it not?
@@daneyoshida I read somewhere that they’d only finished filming last month (June), so with post production factored in your estimate sounds about right.
Gene Roddenberry once stated that the human adventure was just beginning. Watching current year "Star Trek," it seems he was wrong. The adventure is over.🖖
Never thought that I wouldn’t watch a Star Trek show. I started watching Star Trek back in the 60s when I was a young kid. I have watched every thing Star Trek. When they brought on the actor who played James T Kirk I quit watching. This actor is a good actor however, I just don’t like him as James T Kirk.
my god I dont know whose done a worst job with beloved franchises, paramount or Disney. probably Disney but thats not due to a lack of effort from Paramount by any means
You know Ansom just wanted to twirl that thing.😂 As soon as they started walking

Four and One Half Vulcans is the sitcom we deserve. 😂
Poor Spock😢
Spock being reminded that he's only half Vulcan over and over is funny af. Haha.
The writers can't think of anything more interesting about him that his most basic and well known characteristics.
@@pderham26 Still the puns are funny. "Four and one half Vulcans to beam down." Come on.. :)

Racism is always funny to Americans
I'd bet he was irritated by the end of the episode!
I love poor Spock carrying all the luggage. 😂
When Chapel said "indefinitely" you know Spock was thinking " Oh hello No"
lolol Pike's peak just gets higher and higher.
S03E06 centres around the struggle to lower the Captain’s chair on the bridge to accommodate his hair.

Johnny Bravo
You know they did it on purpose 😂
Pike is rocking that Lirpa….and his hair
the set designers do such a great job that I genuinely want to live on that ship

I just love Pelia! Terrific actress!
This honestly makes no sense. Vulcan logic isn't genetic, it's being well trained and disciplined.
Indeed, no logic in this at all. Surely no vulcans in the writing room.
Did you miss the episode where cartoons turned into humans?
Agreed - how did an injeciton comb Pikes hair?

Come on it is the coolest thing they have done so far, makes you want to watch it
I have a feeling that all 4 of them are going to experience Pon Farr and Captain Pike is going to fight Spock for Christine.

I never get tired of seeing this.
Omg❤❤❤ why is SNW always so good!
This makes 'Spock's Brain' look like 'The City on the Edge of Forever' by comparison
No problem with funny episodes in general, but preferable if it makes actual sense.

inner spoke: so this is hell
What band is this please that’s hitting hard
Can't wait. This season is going to be fascinating.
With each time his hair changes color, Captain Pike looks like he's about ready to retire. But NOT QUITE YET.
So much potential but it seems this show is descending into a spoof.
Yes! Jean Luc Picard save us all! Disengage!
Chapel is adorable as a vulcan.
Now they can retcon that Kirk did this a few years later to steal the Romulan cloaking device.
Anyone else have a problem with this transformation?
So the writers don’t actually know anything actually about Vulcans then, terrible
Actually
Spock: “kkkhhaaannn”
Vulcans are not Terminators…
This clip has a Kill Bill feel. Tarantino is here. Hahaha
Scotty🏴🏴🏴
Oh good lord this is stupid.
Wtf😅🤣
Need moar eps!
I'm happy af
It would seem whomever writes just about every 2 out of 4 or so good episodes that air forgets this IS NOT for Lower Decks lol
so no release date ??? WTF
Spring 2025 would be a safe bet, they finished filming around that time this year. Takes about a year for post.

Self-parody is a murder for STAR TREK.
Gene Roddenberry once stated that the human adventure was just beginning. Watching current year "Star Trek," it seems he was wrong. The adventure is over.🖖
this aint star trek anymore
The only thing good about this is the design of the lirpa. Other than that, it just looks like more bad Star Trek as usual.
There Now Green Blooded Vulcans!😲

Kill Bill Trek version.
Total garbage. They have just found new ways to screw up Star Trek.
If this is what I have to expect in season 3 I'm out of here! Just a bunch of sophomoric BS I don't want!
Be happy they didn't put it to music.
Yeah i dont like fun in science fiction either...
So stop whining and leave...

Another stupid episode
Jesus, what crap. 👎
Silly Trek. Are they taking the pee out of us? So poor.
How stupid.
