Great recommended video. Like this woman Roxy Coss! Has her own sound and unusual style. Beautiful sound middle lower register on her tenor!! Love her phrasing. Out of repect for the group please list the other musicians!
My idol was Grover Washington Jr and he had unbelievable skills, technique and was a true master of his horn. George Coleman is another one of my favorites but I can go all the way back to the days of Clifford Brown and Max Roach, Harold Land! Wayne Shorter of course, Coltrane, Gene Ammons, Houston Person, Stanley Turrentine and many others. I definitely will be following her and hope to see her perform one day soon!
Roxy, you are phenomenal! Your interpretation is different, like a ballad but swingin' ..... great bass walking & solo ..... very pensive piano solo ..... cool drummer ..... great, sharp videography.
come on guys . the Bass player owns the song . he is playing out of his scull . wow . he moves the group . would love to play with a bass like this . bobby g..
Never heard of her before. First of all, tone is everything! She has a nice tone and her playing is excellent! She sounds original also. I can't identify her with any 'major' player (which is good). Another 'personal' note from me, (haters will be responding): She 'sounds' black to me. I've been 90% of the time in a 'blindfold test', able to tell whether a tenor saxophone player was white or black, (unless the white person has listened and studied black saxophonist). Examples of tenor saxophonists who 'sounds black', would be Stan Getz, Al Cohn Zoot Sims. Maybe it's the era or something? Anyway, she's good!!
I heard her recently at the Jazz Forum with Rufus Reid's group. Her tone was even better than it is here. Really nice player. Good piano and bass, too. I don't know who they are.
Good mastery of the horn. She has listen well. But she sounds old as in years ago. Can she make it past two choruses? Can she handled one of those break neck tempos? So far all I can say is nice.
Muy buenas, Aurelio. ¿Qué te parece esta moza que sale en el Downbeat? English: Hi, Aurelio, dude! What do you think about this girl that appears this month in Downbeat Magazine?
Who is the pushy attention seeker who thinks it's ok to walk onto the stage and make an announcement while the band are still playing? What an arrogant prat.
I've been watching her for a few years and she just keeps getting better. Love that she is more of a melody player.
Wow. Never heard of her before. What a wonderful style and a truly inventive solo.
Excellent centered tone and control and great technique. I’m a fan!

Bass Player's face says it all.
I agree. The bass player is driving very well and rock solid.
Thank you, Rob Crocker on WBGO Radio, Newark, NJ for bringing me to Roxy, today 10-6-19. She Swings!!!
I LOVE this woman.
this is amazing i love the solos
Every time I hear Roxy, she is even better than the last time I heard her.
She’s definitely got she skills and sound! I played the tenor but what impresses me with her the most is she knows WHAT to play and when to play it.
Yes she has skills but your comment, what to play and when, is kind of silly. Do you play the right things at the wrong time?
Superbe! Très beau son !Chouette interprétation!Super bassiste ! Tous très bons,ça groove!
Fantastic sound. Love it all
Swinging Tenor that showcases her Beautiful melodies in and outside the chords using technique that delights!!!!
Very nice tenor sound!!
Very good double timing ...spot on the money ...well done you !!!

Une très bonne saxophoniste avec un super son ça doit être un Mark VI son saxo
Amazing musicians
Absolutely love this arrangement.
I loathe the lights but the rest of this video is just phenomenal
Very good all the group. Roxy remind me good tones from Stan Getz. She has learned with its music with no doubt

Pianist's name ?
What bass player?
Fine, fine, fine. Tempo slows during the song.
Great band. Crappy light "display."
