Dont get me wrong, i love everything about andor and kino's character but luthen's speech just hits me harder, every time i hear it i just get them chills! Specially when he delivers the lines: ""I burn my life, to make a sunrise that I know I'll never see! So what did i sacrificed? - yells - EVERYTHING!". God damm that's the best line in star wars EVER!
Luthen's speech may be written better, but his delivery is too scripted -- it's not natural that he has all that stuff in his brain just ready to spit out that fast. Kino had to "work" to generate his monologue
I feel this is the best monolog in tv history. Andy's performance was nothing less than stellar. The characters in this story are phenomenal. Luthon, Kino, and Andor are all so inspiring. I feel Andor is underrated, period. People who dont like Star Wars will never see it, and that is a damn shame. It stands on its own, even without the Star Wars logo behind it.
I agree with everything you’ve said. This show is the pinnacle of what Star Wars television should be. I can’t find one thing about this show that I didn’t like.
Andor has the best speeches and monologues. Kino. Luthen. Maarva. The Manifesto. High bars all but Serkis throws his all in to the role and reaches maybe surpasses them all. His was real and immediate. Maarva was a post life testament to her mourners. Luthen was giving his reasons but remained anonymous to all but one. Kino got to see real time results. His wordds had immediate impact.
Kino’s, Luthen’s, and Maarva’s monologues are all amazing. The script through all 12 episodes never misses a beat. I also love the final exchange between Andor and Luthen: “Kill me or take me in.” Luthen looks up with a subtle grin of satisfaction. That simple scene communicates so much.
At that point, the only thing more Luthern knew about Andor is that he had an awesome mother...and he showed up. He laid out that his considered only two paths for himself: Dead now (and thus no more a potential liability to Luthen's rebel cause) or dead later for something important.
When TV or Film enhances an original IP is a rare thing. It has to start with the quality of the writing & Andor delivers in that department & just builds off of it. From cast selections to set & location choices it’s phenomenal.
I literally just finished episode 9 of my second viewing of the series, so it's amusing that this was suggested. I love this series, and after watching The Acolyte, I just had to watch this again to cleanse my pallet.
I have a theory about how Kino might survive. In the Command Center, the guard who is shot has a larger build than the other two and is approximately Kino's body shape. When Kino is speaking over the mic, we see a shot of the Doctor, but he's not rushing to get out of there like everybody else, instead he looks shell shocked and perhaps like he understands the futility of running. Kino and the Doctor know he each other ("haven't seen you in a while") and the Doctor respects Kino enough to give him inside info (when Cassian asks "what happened on level 2?" the Doctor doesn't answer Cassian but then looks at Kino and says "you'll want to keep your men in line"). I think the Doctor and Kino find each other. Kino can disguise himself in the dead guard's uniform and the Doctor can certify that he's dead, bag him, and take him to the morgue. From there, Kino and the Doctor commandeer a shuttle and escape. "Tell me they're leaving." It would be a cool irony if the ship floating above Cassian and Melshi while hanging off the cliff was actually the Doctor and Kino trying to find others to help them escape.
Hi Gerald, awesome video. Tinos' speech was awesome, the show was one of the best live action, everyone played great parts, I cannot wait for the second series, thank you Star Wars Fanatic
Very few shows do I gobble up the episodes as fast as I get them. Andor was a pleasure to watch. It was one of the subgenres of star wars that we have been asking for. Unlike all the other "high" stakes shows that we know only lead to the First order, we got characters that we didnt know their fate and we actually cared about what happened to them. I am of two minds about getting a second season of Andor. i want the story to conclude, but I also don't want it ruined.
Tony Gilroy did a stellar job with Andor. The writing, brilliant casting and the outstanding performance of said cast make this, and Rogue One, the best thing to come out of the Disney Star Wars stable. If the care and dedication seen in Andor were applied to other star wars shows, they wouldn't be in the mess they now find themselves in
I have to agree with that. I’ve heard several people mention that with sci fi or science fantasy you have to expect certain things. Weird stories, bad acting, etc. but with Andor, they proved it doesn’t have to be that way. Everyone making Star Wars content should look to Tony Gilroy for advice.
Love this series. In my view the best SW content we got, period! Of course the OT has a special place in my heart, but The Andor series is so much more complex and intricate. It has its short comings, but they are few and anecdotal. Kino's character is a classic tragic character in that he sees there is no escaping his fate, but tries none the less to alter the course of things. Luthen is a new kind of tragic character in that he takes actions that he knows will damn him in order to reach a greater good for others. They are both characters whose urgency comes from their selflessness. They are completely lightside of the force in that regard and thus, completely Star Wars!
I love the serie of Andor. One of the best series. First 2 episodes hmm what am i watching . But then wow so much better. Can t wait to the next season. How close it wil come to Roque one.
I like Andor as all Star wars. From my point of view it won't be stand out from others, equally on the same level. But I need to add,not because jedi and sith present, but because that's first show which had more than one character I felt in love with,The Acolyte stand out for me in good light. In every show,I like them equally,I like one Character,Bo katan in Mandolorian,Ahsoka in Ahsoka,Fenec in Boba, and Dedro officer in Andor. But in Acolyte I really liked following : Anaseya,Vernestra,Sol,Qimir,Osha/Mae. That's why this series stand out to me,it's interesting
My only favorite arc in the series with my only favorite character named Kino Loy. If only everything else Disney SW can stay on top as well. Did the guy playing Ulaf pass away?
I agree Andor was the best. Lots of speaches. But Diego Luna is too old for the movie role now. I would love to see star wars we don't know how it ends, before it begins.
I do like the Mandalorian. That’s my favorite culture in Star Wars. Andor took me by surprise. It was one I wasn’t excited for when it was announced. But it blew me away the level of acting and writing.

Agreed
Luthen’s speech is amazing. I want to break it down in another video. Probably one of the best monologues I’ve ever seen.

All three speeches gave me chills. I had to look again to make sure I was watching Star Wars. Tony Gilroy needs to write more Star Wars material.
Completely agree!!! Rock solid writing all around !

I agree. I really can’t wait to see how season 2 turns out. But it will be sad to see it end.
I literally just finished episode 9 of my second viewing of the series, so it's amusing that this was suggested.
I love this series, and after watching The Acolyte, I just had to watch this again to cleanse my pallet.
Kino’s fate will be a question for the ages, like what happened to the hostages with Cinta and what is the motive of basil the Beaver sniffer
Basil’s motives are simple. He likes to sniff things and once he got close to Mae he discovered his Catnip/Kryptonite
I am a simple person...
I see Andor
I click
I’m with you! I really can’t wait for season 2.

The writing team knew how to intrigue fans, they always have.
I love you, man! Thank you for the video, my brother
Thank you! I love you too!
Wow,
You called that one, spot on man!!
Great job brother
Thanks!

Oh I’m so stoked for season 2. It can’t get here fast enough.
thank you
No problem at all
Hello Again Jedi Phana'tk.
Rouge One and ANDOR best Disney Star wars yet.

Nemik's manifesto is #1. 🥇

One way out!
One way out!
I will always like old batman...luthen.
Although andy does a great job playing a normal person in a horrible situation.
My only favorite arc in the series with my only favorite character named Kino Loy. If only everything else Disney SW can stay on top as well.
Did the guy playing Ulaf pass away?
"Did the guy playing Ulaf pass away?"
No. Christopher Fairbank. Age 70.
Aw dude you didn't credit the doctor actor by name? ADRIAN RAWLINS he is just as awesome in his craft
I agree Andor was the best. Lots of speaches. But Diego Luna is too old for the movie role now. I would love to see star wars we don't know how it ends, before it begins.
Little slow for me perfer Mandolin all 3 series for me but it OK for me
I do like the Mandalorian. That’s my favorite culture in Star Wars. Andor took me by surprise. It was one I wasn’t excited for when it was announced. But it blew me away the level of acting and writing.
✨🤔✨✍️💫👍
That was so hard he couldn’t swim..
Yet he helped the others escape. I hope we see him again in season 2
I must be the odd person out..i really don't like the series. I find it slow and extremely boring. I prefer Ashoka and The Acolyte more.
