@@StickmanAnakin So you didn't notice the clones, the cloning materials at the beginning of the movie, palpatine saying he used force transfer, and him stating he is a clone in the movie all of which are things that also exist in the EU as well. This isn't hard to understand.

2. Even though it does exist, the execution was terrible. Before the "somehow palpatine returned" we could've seen a flashback of when he essence transferred and how that would look. Hell that would've been a cool opening scene.

If JJ was going to rely on his stupid clone nonsense, then he should have used it to revise the big bad he created in the first place and that's Snoke. That would have been the perfect F.U. to Rian Johnson as a bonus.

Jar Jar is the GOAT compared to all the crap Disney Wars put out.
Lucas not having a complete plan was understandable because when he started, he had no idea how successful it would be. Disney knew from the beginning that they'd be making a trilogy, so had no excuse.
Also, having the same one person (Lucas) running the show helped keep the story together. Unlike JarJar and Ruin Johnson who were basically squabbling children arguing over how to play with their toys.

Abrams was a close second. That guy messes up everything he touches. But in my opinion, Star Wars still wasn't his worst. He ruined Jim Caviezel's reputation by putting him in a part Jesus had condemned in John 9. Yes, when you're a Christian, it's wrong, if you have a position of authority of any kind, to judge someone under you based on what they WILL do, regardless how sure you are

What no one seems to understand is that Disney wanted to pretend that the prequels never happened. The first line of TFA should tell you that and if in Disney's eyes the prequels didn't happen then there's no chosen one prophecy and bringing back Palpatine so he can die at the hands of Rey isn't lore breaking. We all know it is but the rich kid putting out his fan fiction and calling it canon doesn't see it that way
A great han solo story would be something based off A.C Crispin's Paradise Snare, Hutt Gambit, or Rebel Dawn.
In other words, these are great han solo stories
Palpatine’s returned being explained as ‘somehow’ sums it all up for me. Tolkien hated Disney so much he forbade any of his works being adapted by them, because the company belittled the audience, insulted the creativity and intelligence of the young audience, and undermined the essence of narrative. His concerns 80 years ago are as relevant today as they ever were. I just wish George Lucas had the same respect for his own work the audience who enjoyed it.
Anyways, great video. And thanks for pointing out the nowhere characters, its the biggest thing that drives fury in the conversations about SW I have with my kids.

That’s gonna change. Some guy is writing a book called Secrets of the first order. In it, it will debut Luke’s son Orion and Jaina Solo who both are more powerful than Rey and who are gonna replace Rey. They will also summon the spirit of Anakin Skywalker to defeat Palpatine. The author reveals that the entire stupid plot of the sequel trilogy is that the First Order want revenge on the Skywalker and Solo family for the destruction of the Death Star and Palpatine’s death at Darth Vader’s hands so they target Ben Solo who is the eldest grandchild of Darth Vader, to use against his family. But what they don’t know is that Ben has a sister and a cousin, all of whom were placed under Ahsoka’s protection. More will be revealed that will hopefully appease the fans who hate what Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams did
I agree. Disney’s Star Wars Sequels were garbage. The same with its storyline and characters. If George Lucas didn’t sell his didn't sell his life's work and gave it to Disney, we would’ve likely gotten Star Wars Legends storyline movies and the TRUE Skywalker Family Members; Mara Jade, Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Anakin Solo and Allana Solo.
@@rosapower7880 That doesn’t mean the Skywalker bloodline ends for good. There’s a book in the works that some guy is making called Secrets of the First Order that’s gonna fix the sequels, give Luke a son and Jaina Solo is going to debut and unlike Rey, she won’t be a Mary Sue because both she and Luke’s son will be even more powerful than Rey. They’re also going to undo Han’s death, Luke will be fixed and have him be seen as a loving but overprotective father and a badass instead of a bitter hermit and have the OT trio back together. If the story of the OT trio has to end, let them go in a blaze of glory like real heroes, not as failures. The author says that once the book is a bestseller, he’ll make it into a screenplay with better writing, better plot and epic fight scenes. If Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger try to intervene, he will sue them in court and file an injunction.
A Solo story was horrible. The stupid thing was that we already had a great pre-story for Solo in a trilogy by the amazing Brian Daley. They tried to replace those stories with a stupid movie. As to the rest of the movies and TV shows... They really kind of made Solo look good.
I liked it as something to watch in the background and just think it's some marvel movie instead of star wars. I'm still thinking the mentor guy is morbius from Loki at times

The problem is with Kathleen Kennedy and her lame "story group" at Lucasfilm. Disney owns Star Wars to an effect, but they really own Lucasfilm and had no real involvement in the making of the Sequel Trilogy, Solo and the Acolyte. George Lucas could be blamed for selling Lucasfilm to Disney, but he put Kathleen Kennedy in charge of Lucasfilm. He wanted to retire from making movies was already in late 60's. I'm sure regrets selling Lucasfilm to them, as he HATES the Sequel Trilogy and I'm sure hates that JJ Abrahms and Rian Johnson wrote and directed terrible movies claiming them as cannon. I hated that Luke died ALONE on Atch-To "projecting" his image to Crait to fake lightsaber duel Kylo Ren. That was so bad.
This will only get worse, but at the least the Acolyte got cancelled after only season(no, I didn't watch that garbage, I only watched youtubers video reviews on it) Star Wars is a pathetic sate right now.
Yes, it can be said that Disneys direct involvement is limited to an extend, however, they are the ones who still keep Kathleen in a job despite delivering crap after crap with every Star Wars projects, thus, my blame is on them

My dumbest mistake: Ruining General Grievous into whimpy villain instead of being Over 9000 ruthless antagonist - which he should have been & also omitting Durge (Gen'dai bounty hunter) from TCW!
Yes!! Though it wasn't Disney tbf, but still, he was more of a clown in the clone wars rather than an intimidating villain
It's a good thing that Durge wasn't here in TCW, since the show didn't give justice to any character from EU or anyone who debuted in Clonnee Wars 2003 in general
They should have brought back Anakin Skywalker to defeat Palpatine once and for all in "Rise of Skywalker"...

Glad you didn't mention Obi-Wan Kenobi show. That show was excellent and people hate on it too much. I agree with *most* criticisms, but not all. Like "it was a Reva show, not Obi-Wan show". Her screen time is like 30-40 minutes out of what? 6 hours?
Or the criticism of being focused on Leia instead of Luke. Bringing Luke into this story wouldn't make any sense. He first truly met Obi-Wan in SW episode 4. Wheras Leia already knew him "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope", so it makes perfect sense to include her in his show.
Overall - the show definitely does have problems, but it's not even close to the shows like The Acolyte.
Luke Skywalker did not die from fighting or projecting himself. After he did that projection-fighting, he decided is was time to end his journey. So he killed himself, by becoming one with the Force.
Rey confirms this, by telling Leia "it was not sadness or pain, it was peace and purpose".
2:34-2:53. Grand Admiral Thrawn´s campaign against the New Republic in Heir to the Empire trilogy EU books. All about strategy and using limited resources in Thrawn´s part while New Republic is still setting itself up.
Mary Sue: Imagine if she was the lost daughter of Starkiller, a force sensitive clone made by Darth Vader in earlier era of the Empire. Her heritage would have explained why she is so powerful in the force and because she is a child of clone, her knowledge to use the force so easily can be explained by flashes of memories. Her challenge could have been learning to use that knowledge properly. It might not solve the problem yet it would have been in right direction.
I think retconning legends, wasn't a bad idea. I know people will complain but there is just too many books and comics and you when doing book adaptations you have to change a lot of stuff. But I would keep the general outline of New Republic and New Jedi Order, against Imperial Remnant and/or Yuzhan Vong, while keeping the major characters from legends canon such as Mara Jade and the Solo Twins. I think destroying the New Republic or New Jedi Order in the new canon would make the Sequels look too much like the Originals and that is not a good idea and the fact that no one wants to see anyone rebuild the Jedi Order besides Luke Skywalker.
Yeah that's definitely a valid point. The EU isn't the end all be all, but if they were smart, they could've just rehashed popular storylines from there without much effort and could've easily pleased the fans...instead we got a force awakens which is a lazy rehash that pleased noone
Thing is, "too many media" became an issue only after what? 30± years of different books, games and comics? Well some of them were at least made with George's consent, some were liked by him, some parts were written by him, and something he even added in movies. While now, current "canon" EU is as bloated after 10 years, yet it barely has anything as worthy. Mess of a trilogy that is a remake of OT poorly mixed with EU elements, and external media doesn't make it any better since sometimes OT characters are unbothered buffoons, and sometimes they are in character for a brief moment (Kylo Ren comic vs Battlefront 2 Luke is an example). All they had to do is turn Post-Endor into a bunch of shows, and Legacy/LOTF into sequel trilogy, or perhaps set a new trilogy in thousands years past OT, which would effectively break all the chains and limitations
Fun fact: star destroyers with death star lasers existed in legends too, so Lucas himself wasn't completely original in some of his ideas
Also I don't blame j.j. Abrams for the sequels being bad, I think if he wrote the last jedi then they would have been better
There 2 wonderful Star Wars projects that Disney has made that I really enjoy. Rogue One and The Mandalorian.
That movie and that show (mostly Season 1 and 2) were amazing and what I consider to 2 of the best things that to cone out of Disney Star Wars Saga.
I still need to see the final season of Clone Wars and the entirety of Bad Batch, but I heard great things about those shows.
At first I enjoyed The Sequel Trilogy, but over time I started to hate it. They screwed up my favorite character Luke and bs'd how the Palpatine survived.
But since George Lucas doesn't claim The Sequel Trilogy as his movies, I view that trilogy as not canon.
There was great Star Wars content right in front of me, and I didn't realize it. It's time to seek out the Star Was Expanded Universe.

The EU was never canon, George was in the middle of retconning it all when he sold the franchise as he retconned all the old prequel material with the clone wars tv show
He then would’ve retconned everything that happened after return of the Jedi, all of it
And anyway despite how they handled it, decanonising legends was the absolute best route to go. That timeline was way too cluttered and messy to do anything with it

Disney seems a bit adverse to having some characters be complete a-holes. Without a plan, maybe they should have made side-stories until there was an outline.
I feel like the person who said the Acolyte doesn't exist was onto something but not quiet right; I'd be willing to push it to the entirety of Disney Star Wars doesn't exist all we have is the Orginals, Prequels, and EU nothing after.
I'm pretty much at that point where I just pick and choose what I like to be canon and what not

Whereas Kathleen Kennedy and bob just massacred what ever emotional momentum it finally achieved after wasting nearly half a billion dollars or a billion dollars.
@@lLooN3y I’m saying is that Boba Fett was not a badass. I like the og, but to say that they dragged him back just to please fans would be laughable. The Book of Boba Fett was nothing but something as nostalgia bait to try to save Disney Star Wars.
Yes, the original intent for Boba was that he's a bit of a laughing stock in the way they killed him off, however, for some reason, the fandoms consensus of him has kept him as a badass for decades after RotJ, despite knowing his fate. A Boba Fett series could've easily just shown a small snippit of his life, a more challenging bounty mission or something small scale that'd be more fitting to a bounty hunter and I think it would've offered a lot of oppurtunity there to make it great.
Now that you said all the dumb things Disney has done, I can proudly say that I f**king hate them.

What was meant by, "they threw in the Power Rangers". I USED to watch that, but as of just a few days ago, it's been four years since seeing it. And yes, I DO have a reason. But it also means I had no idea what this video was talking about, so I didn't find any humor there

Recently i been trying to get a story together. I feel they could have used Palpatine in other way like what my story uses. When the big bad dies, its strongest minion loses control and starts destroying. the new films could have been a secret student of his that wants to cause uter hell and have fear spread. Instead we get some guy who doesnt do anything important. You do a great job explaining the issuies here
Kylo Ren - making a whining boy without self control the would like to be Vader. With mask, that he doesn't need.
Rose - the "Lower Decks" of Star Wars, just to dissapear in the background.
Han and Leia - loosers instead of heroes. Divorced, with Han as a hapless smuggler, stumbling over the Falcon by accident. Why not as an agent, luring the other smugglers into a trap?
Solo was not that bad in comparisment with all later movies.

Yes if you only consider the movies, sure he's just some random side character, however, decades of stories have made him a lot more than just a random side character, hence he's very popular and should've been treated with the respect ge deserved...like it's quite simple imo, just give people what they expect from him, why change a working thing?

I didn't think it was too bad eather. Quite diferant then I exspected but regardless disney throwing away his eu charecter he doesn't have much movie time. He apears in anh just briefley. Shows up in tesb with a small conversation with Vader and some slite momants in Jaba's palace and the sail barge fught so for some maby manny who just saw starwars as the movies that was about as much out of BF as they had and I didn't think his chzaectar was terable in bobbf just diferant and was good for what is was.

Yep, this guy gets it. Nice to encounter those that still believe, even amidst all the troughs-worth of slop we’ve been provided. Slop, in the sense that, beyond its quality, it’s the sheer quantity we’ve also been provided.
I think quantity actually isn't the real issue, the problem with quantity is that it's more difficult to keep a consistent quality once you up the quantity, but they failed to have any qualtiy to begin with so there's that....
