- In this Sunday Afternoon Multi-App Food Delivery Ride-Along we get back to our roots by Cherry Picking on Doordash, Uber Eats and the other gig work apps, like Instacart. Doordash and Uber Eats are always best when you Cherry Pick, but todays results would be very unexpected. Could we hit our goal by Cherry Picking, or would we fail once again?

When I was new on doordash I had a customer pick up their own order. I called customer support. Told them what happened. They marked down that I had completed delivery so that they could compensate me the full amount (no tip of course). They knew from the restaurant that the customer picked up the order. The customer almost immediately complained they did not get their order. They were standing not 10 ft from me at one point with their order in their hand. But I got a contract violation and they got a refund. It's a scam.

It’s what they do. They order. Pick it up themselves. Say they didn’t get it. Get a refund and free food. Always a scam.

Aww, thanks for the double shout out, my birthday and new member . I don't do gig work, but sure do order alot LOL. I ALWAY tip between 15-20%. Just did a grocery order for over $300, I tiped $75. Seeing how hard you two work shows me behind the sean what they have to do. And, yes I love cats, I have 2.

to get compensated, before you click in order picked up by someone else. click the contact support option on top for a live chat and then click the option order picked up by someone else, you will get the 3 dollars if you do it this way

When the customer goes and picks up their own order, it is a scam. They get the food. The order gets canceled and they don’t have to pay and you don’t get paid for going to go and pick it up.
As a customer, when I have gone to pick up my own food, I never minded if the driver just "picked it up" and marked it delivered, as I have already paid the money. Sometimes paying the service and delivery fee is actually cheaper than paying the service fee for pickup, which is ridiculous.

For cherry picking it seems you still take some pretty small orders. On UE I never take anything less than $10, as that’s when there may be an increase as they hide tips over $8. On DD I try to stay in The $9-$12 area. I have a 0% AR on DD in a Tier zone and still get plenty of offers and even catering and large orders.
I think waiting for $10 is very risky. Plus sitting and doing nothing is torture and a waste of time IMO but each driver has their own take on cherry picking and there is no one right or wrong way to do it

I agree, I’m in the zone next to you guys (Selden, Centereach, portjeff, patchogue area) and depending on the day it would be tough to consistently get orders that are 10& or more with a decent mileage ratio, especially with Uber eats, whenever it’s high pay it’s usually high mileage. I’ve been doing it on the side for 2 years and this is the hardest it’s ever been. Respect your grind and sticking with it. Try my zone sometime, maybe I’ll run into you guys someday!

I cherrypick but I usually average around a 60%-75% AR, some days I even get as high as 88%. I don't understand how people get so low AR...
Yes I am a top dash I am 75 percent and 99 percent non cancel and over 120 orders last 30 days.

Umm, how about going round-trip 18 miles for $2. That's why ARs are so low. Mine was as low as 4% on doordash, currently it's at 34% but they've sent me a lot of decent orders for my area
They make it confusing like that while we’re driving because they don’t want us to cherry pick so if it’s case like I’m in where you need the money regardless you that so you just automatically accept the offer and then once you accept the offer and you get the location then you realize how screwed you are unless you pull over if you can to heck it out. Have to say I’ve been watching all your old videos and your new ones and I love you guys. I also work on Long Island sometimes but mostly I do Upstate like was county and then I go to Jersey sufferin county

I am extremely careful I can't be less 95 percent cancel we're not top dasher. I only canceled one yesterday because got 65 IC shop but extremely careful on cancel orders. I am at 99 percent cancel and don't see self cancel another anytime soon.

I am a top dasher now only way make real money on doordash now. It doesn't bother me because i get prop 22 so still make great money.

Oh! On your last video you asked what my hubby and I play in magic. We draft a LOT! (If you don't know this coming weekend is the bloomburrow prerelease, check it out at your LGS!!!), we also play pioneer, modern, standard, legacy. We play everything BUT commander, EDH is my least favorite format. I know the majority of players love it, but I just don't like the politics. I prefer the strategy of the game. My husband has played on the pro-tour twice, and I'm hoping to make it there soon :)

Oh pro tour that’s awesome! Our main game is EDH, but we also like draft and sealed. We are definitely very excited for bloomburrow and will be doing a pre release this Friday. We try to get to draft nights on Fridays whenever possible, but also we have booster boxes at home and every Saturday morning after we eat breakfast we grab a booster box and play what we call “Saturday Morning Sealed” lol.
With regards to EDH, what we love about it is our daughters play and also our friends so it’s a great time playing with them! In addition I play on Spelltable as well. As for Arena. I dabble on it but not that much. When I do I generally just do quick drafts since they are the cheapest drafts on there.
Btw just to let you know how crazy it’s been, we started playing only about 15 months ago and I have 41 decks and Mary has 29. We also play a ton of 1v1 which helps us stay familiar with all our decks lol.
As of July 15, Uber has a different standard for people under 25% AR you’re mostly going to see trip radar. I think that’s how it goes. They sent out an email though.

I have 5% AR 😂 they send out 3 to 4 dollars for 15 miles
Mine is like 12% but I refuse to take $3 orders for 10-15 miles.

On the Petco stack, couldn’t you have kept the Petco and unassigned the other order if you thought it was bad (even though it ended up probably being a pick up only)?
Yes but DD doesn’t tell you how much you would have gotten paid for it so it’s a gamble
