Mark Millar's King of Spies, Superior, Magic Order, and Kick-Ass are some of my favourite comic books.
Awesome!
Mark Millar is such an awesome writer and insanely smart business man. The passion, love, and wisdom he has for comics and comics industry is something to behold, great interview well done! The Ultimates run he did with Bryan Hitch is iconic
Yeah, i cant believe we got him on!
Mark was an incredible guest. Looking forward to more collaborations between you guys in Comics in the future.
Im not convinced Matteo studied enough for Mark's accent. Probably all on Jamie's editing that made it look like Matteo knew what was going on in the interview.
Great episode!
AHAHAHAHAAH! You figured it out!
Goran Parlov is phenomenal! So happy to hear he’s working on something new!
Couldn’t agree more!!!! :)
He's so good!
IMMEDIATELY went and added all of Marks podcast episodes in my Spotify queue. This was a great one guys!
Thank you!
Love Marks podcast! Love Inkpulps podcast! What a fantastic crossover!
Thank you so much!
Millar is an amazing guest. His love of the medium is so evident. Tremendous show gentlemen!
He was great!!!!!
You have such a soothing voice & Mark is always great guy to chat with.
Great conversation! Mark is one of my favorite creators today. Great to hear him talk about many topics within the industry
Yeha, he's great!
I love that you guys got onto an Italian artist discussion for a bit in this episode... I've loved so many Italian artists ever since I got a taste of the Bonelli comics library when Dark Horse published a handful of their books in the late 1990's. Gigi Cavenago, Gordon Parlov, Eugenio Sicomoro, Giancarlo Alessandrini, Mastantuono, Corrado Roi, etc... If you ever stumble onto those books, they are all highly recommended.
Great stuff!
Just started watching this one already digging the crossover!! Since I've been watching Millar time as well, every time it goes to Mark, I almost forget which podcast I'm watching for a split second.
You should do an episode about the European market especially for artists after this glimpse into the italian comic schools!!! I wonder if Italy is a place where you can make a living doing comic art which became hard in other areas of the world.
Great conversations on this podcast. You guys are rocking it.
Really enjoyed this interview - thank you for all these great comics talks you guys put out!
Would it be possible to list all the artists mentioned, please? Here are the ones I could figure out: Gigi Cavenago, Matteo Buffagni, Massimo Carnevale, Alex Toth, Goran Parlov, Stuart Immonen, Olivier Coipel, Valerio Giangiordano, Tim Sale, Bolland, George Perez, Kevin O'Neill, Gibbons, Albuerquerque, Mark Chiarello, Garcia-Lopez. Matteo mentions someone at 47:11 that sounds like Midaly and Millar mentions a Brazilian that sounds like Grampa right before Albuerquerque.
The Brazilian one could be Rafael Grampá
@@giacomobettiol thanks
Awesome time with Mark! Huge fan of his work and TH-cam channel, huge fan of the InkPulp gang and YT channel as well!
Mark is one of few creators I will pick up just about anything they do.
Eric and Matteo have worked with Mark, what we need is Shawn to team up! My goal is to one day do something, anything for a Millar project.
Thanks brotha! Yeah, I dont think i'm his cup of tea lol
@@inkpulphis loss.
Great episode, and kudos to Mark as well as the rest of you guys for speaking up appropriately about the negative effects of cancel culture; bullying behavior and fear should never be allowed to rule this pioneering and beloved industry. Also, Goran Parlov is the GOAT!!!! Love to see him on here someday soon! :)
Thank you! Would love to have Goran on!
You should! He’s a character as well as the definition of an artists artist! :)
Don't forget his daughter's links in your description! 😇
Yes! Can't wait to wake up tomorrow a draw along to this one! 🙌
Hell yeah!
Looking forward to this one. I like Mark, I like you guys. This is gonna be a good one.
Thank you!
Smart analysis
Wow! Great episode! I will say this for the comunity of followers and that is that you can never stop doing this again, consider doing it for seasons, or some episodes with other themes, whatever, as long as the content is refreshing for you as well as it is for the audience but the important thing is to give continuity to this and never stop... please take Daniel Warren Jhonson I think it's time... Jorge Corona too ... please never stop doing this podcast
We dont plan on stopping! Thank you! Great suggestions too!
I lived in scotland for a few years. Great episode and it’s fun to hear that accent again. I’m glad there’s people out there who have the perspective that the Twitter pile-on from the 5% of readers with an active account is like being attacked on Roblox.
Roblox lolololololol
great interview! Mark is one of the few real comic fans and what he did with helping the retailer was great! Don‘t forget all the Pro guys hitting and stabbing the guy who makes a living trying to sell their books! This showed what kind of morons this industry has right now! No wonder most mainstream books suck this days. They just see comics as a jumping on point to TV or just to show some strange agenda.
Exactly!
A big problem that I have with ‘creator owned’ work these days is that they are transparent and cynical Netflix/streaming TV pitches. I don’t have this problem with Mark’s stuff because his respect for art shows a love of the comics form and the books are actually readable. I think this could be a good podcast topic: what is the difference between a good comic and a Netflix pitch comic?
Interesting for sure!
Who are they talking about at 25:58 ?
Glen O'Leary, a retialer. Mark interviewed him on his own show. Worth a listen!
Man, I wish I am friends with Matteo, so he can refer to me Big names like Mark Millar lol
LOL.
The days of legitimate , well intentioned discourse are clearly over. It is a win or lose situation now. Fight or die.
Sounds like Doomsday lol.
@@inkpulp Nah, just civilization resetting itself. It has happened many times over in the past
