Awesome job as always guys. Great to get behind the curtain about the real functions of working in the comic industry for those of us looking to fight that uphill battle.
I am relatively new listener to your podcast although I was aware of it for a while now. The reason why I didn't listen earlier was that I found that a major part of podcast was spent with jokes and pulling eachother's legs. There was less straightforward information. I don't know what has changed now, maybe just me getting used to your podcasting style, but I quite enjoy it. There's a lot of deep insights in your conversations I find very interesting. As a side note to the comics community in Germany. It is existent but very disorganised. Central to the community in Germany is the comic book convention in Erlangen every two years. The next one is in 2026 and you should definitely come if possible. It is spread all over a small town in Bavaria.
Thanks guys, this podcast served beautifully as a kind of frame for the Matteo website ad. On a more serious note I'd say that this conversation was relevant and interesting and I enjoyed it very much. 👌
I'm liking these stories of convention shows. Having attended my first local one earlier this month, it was an amazing experience and I can't wait until the next one so I can mingle with fellow creatives. Hopefully one day I'll even have a table at one of them!
I don't want to diminish what you guys are doing, because I think its great. Regarding the increase in social activity, my feeling is since Piskor died their community is hungry for genuine content from actual comic creators.
I absolutely love this show you guys are great. You're like The Plastics from Mean Girls but as dudes throwing cute insults at each other and then laughing it up.
Killer episode as always! You should totally re-record that Craig Thompson episode whenever he’s available. I’d really love to hear him talk about the 💩 he went thru with Ginseng Roots. I think the more you talk about THE INTERNET MOB, the less power it has. See ya next week!
I watched the episode where you guys talked about Craig Thompson's case with this whole f_cked up cancel culture and I was a little confused about where the episode with him on the show is because I was very interested in his point of view. Now I got the answer. 🙂
Social media... is an ever changing puzzle. Obscure rules set by an algorithm to favor iinteraction and engagement over quality, frequent posting over taking time to do something with care and meaning. It is disheartening, but if you don't play the game, you don't exist.
Guys, I love to know that exists TH-cam channels dedicated to talking about topics that Artists really care about, but it would be great if You talk at least 80% of the show about the title... time ago some guy asked about tips on the comic career of newcomer artists, then Sean said: oh no problem, stay tuned to the upcoming video with Mcfarlenne, He will cover a lot of info about that topic... The video came with NOTHING about that topic. The thing guys is, please talk more about these important topics, they are really important to us, artists with an interest in bringing the bread to the table by doing what we love: comics, bring useful tips, research, alternative ways, testimonials, etc. That would be awesome!
Thanks for taking the time to write all of this. We do really try to capture the epsiode in a title, im sorry if its not perfect, but we try. The title to McFarlane's episdoe was "The Key To Success.' And I thought we talked about that A LOT. epseically Todd's idea that you need to get 50 issues under your belt in order to make that title succesfull. Im just saying we aim to do this. Sometimes, sure, we fall short, but podcasting can be like herding cats. LOL. I hope you understand.
Great episode! The show is much better with Eric in it for sure. Or it's worse. Or, I mean.. I don't think Eric is very good at podcasting. I mean he's really good at it. Honestly, his friends need him on this show. Or they don't?... Damn, how do we trick Eric into never leaving the show lol
I find Eric’s input super vital to the podcast and love his perspective on the craft
Eric is a gem!
The rapport and dynamic with you three just works so well
