Thank you Jim, we noted the leak stopped after 20 mins and was coming from the vent line.
When i get to Melbourne I will drop the tanks and change all the hoses.

I worked in equipment rental for 35 years, and one day a salesman from Gates rubber company came in, and told me that Gates had run a test at a "medium size" southern city (ie Nashville) on over 500 samples of ethanol pump gas, and found the average ethanol content to be 35%. As it was explained to me, each distributor can add up to 10% ethanol, so they do. I haven't run any tests, so I can't swear that it is true.

Hey Jim, I have been watching your TH-cam videos for a couple of years. I don't own a GMC, but I want one. I discovered GMC motorhomes by accident. A place not far away from me has one that has been sitting in the same spot for decades. I started wanting to buy it, but it doesn't run and needs total restoration. I figure if I buy it, there goes my savings account! This past summer I had the opportunity to buy a 1963 Avalair Coach Trailer. I want to restore that to as original condition as possible. That will take more time than money. I still want to get the GMC. I wonder if I can pull the trailer with it. I I crazy or just nuts! I am thinking about becoming a Ranch Hand even though I don't own a GMC...yet.
Re: pressurized fuel. The Howell (GM) system runs at 13 p.s.i., where other systems run at 43 p.s.i. Question is: does that pressure difference mean anything? Thanks for all you do!
Doesn't seem to me that's right. What pressure injectors are in the system. Injectors at low pressure wouldn't work. Look into that. Good point

Yep, if you get a "52", rip the black rubber check valve out....its a 48. Hope this helps

Better would be to switch E15 if its available at your local gas stations. 87octane E10 is bad fuel because its almost half content of benzene, toluene xylene and these harm rubbers plastics, brass materials more than ethanol.
Besides eating everything it MUST have hi pressure injectors to mix
Can you add a high octane additive like the hot rodders, or will you burn to lean, and burn piston heads up?
I doubt that Octane booster would change the air to fuel ration much .. Probably could install bigger jets in the Rochester carb
If you do some calculations, you quickly understand that to change the octane by any significant amount over 1 octane you need a gallon to 5 gallons to do that. Go get a gallon of xylene from the paint store.
That's gonna be expensive but that's a guess. Unless you have a fat cam and hi compression you can coax it to run on 87. Check out the tuning video we did
@@motorhomerehabranch Quardrajet 4 barrel carbs on a 350 chevy had 72 main jets.. I switched to 76 much better throttle response better drivability and the same mpg ..
@@motorhomerehabranch How about a GMC motor coach with electric motors on the rear wheels .. some Storage batteries and Regenerative braking .. so it does not get stuck in the snow in the winter or in some mud..

Find a local starter/alt. Rebuilder. You want a "type 2, 130amp diode pack with a self exciting circuit. If he knows what that is have him do it. If not lemme talk to him. Thanks for the question

Ethanol is 105 Octane .. did you mean E-10 10% Ethanol and 90% gasoline..
He's talking about the fuel that is purchased in the US to power our cars, trucks, and GMC MH. So yes he is talking about E-10. In the US we can't normally find pure Ethanol at the pump!

@@jimhumphrey I like to run 87 Octane and add water/ methanol injection .. If you use water only .. it's free horsepower and better mpg .. If it gets close to freezing temperatures you must add up to 50% Methanol ..
