    BCM Bolts are HPT (High Pressure Tested) meaning they are fired with an over pressured 556 round to make sure everything is tough as nails

    The Midwest URR will also perfectly align your barrel to your upper receiver. There is enough slop on your indexing pin that you can actually put the barrel in with a slight cant. What will happen is your locking lugs will drag on the extension, and your feed ramps won’t line up right with your m4 feed ramps in the upper.
    Best tool I ever bought for my toolbox.

    You used some great components with this build. I recently built a similar one but used a geissele ssae-x trigger, pws buffer tube, geissele spring, noveske barrel and bcm gas block. Midwest handguards are easy to install, feel and look good. The bcm upper is top notch as is a radian charge handle. Thanks for sharing your build and tips.

      Thanks! The whole thing was really funny because I was so focused on getting to the ScopeSwitch install that I didn’t full appreciate how well it turned out till I took it out and shot it. Super enjoyable

    No anti seize and heat ever for my builds, which is about every two months for need to replace worn barrels from too much US Service Rifle Competition. At any rate, I use barrels/headspaced bolts from CLE and typically get about a half MOA with irons in prone sling supported position shooting 77 grain FGMM. The bottom line is I can appreciate the concern for barrel extension fit to upper receiver but it just does not seem needed to produce accuracy?

    Nice Build!!! Recoil looks very soft. What buffer/spring you got in that thing???

    • @nobodytraining
      @nobodytraining  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s just a plain Jane standard carbine buffer and spring. The magic is in that superlative arms adjustable gas block and I’m sure that it doesn’t hurt that the rest of the parts are decent quality 🤣

    If your Bcg isn’t individually batch test fired. I don’t want it

    How much did that build cost you? Not including scope switch. Also, did you get the scope switch to not make noise?

      I don’t want to think about it! It might depress me too much 🤣🤣🤣

      I still have the clicking on the ScopeSwitch. I'm going to shoot it tomorrow and see if it bugs me enough to email Antimatter. Last time I shot it it wasn't noticeable with ear pro.
      As for the cost of the upper...I was a lot happier not knowing the actual price and just "knew" that it was a pretty penny. But here is the breakdown of cost with no shipping, taxes, and where to get:
      From: Criterion 16" barrel, BCM BCG (matched bolt), gas tube $529.94
      From:Superlative Arms Titanium gas block (adjustable) $209.99
      Brownells: BCM upper receiver $129
      MidwayUSA: Radian Raptor SL $94.95
      MidwayUSA: MI Combat Rail 15" $209.95
      MidwayUSA: Lantac Dragon $128.99
      Total: $1302.82
      A great complete lower can be $350-500 depending on how you put it together and all in (with a $69 chinese made red dot 🤣🤣🤣) you are still under $2k for a solid rifle that will last most people several lifetimes.

    Do you Wet Bed your Barrel with High Heat Loctite? Is it needed?

    • @nobodytraining
      @nobodytraining  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I’m using an undersized receiver like a BCM then no. If not, then I prefer to uses stainless steel shims so the barrel is centered as much as possible and then maybe use loctite 620. Depends on how well the shimming goes

      @@nobodytraining sometimes that’s the best way. I just thought the copper infused anti seize would patina and cause corrosion at the barrel nut. Awesome build by the way. Keep em coming. Ive been contemplating a Criterion core for my next build. I’d be interested to see a review.

    • @nobodytraining
      @nobodytraining  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @bunyan6101 The only downside I’ve experienced with the copper antisieze so far is that it gets everywhere! But we will see how it does when and if I shoot out that barrel. I’m going to start shooting that rifle more soon. Will see about the review since it would really deserve some higher round counts.

    I love how people like to say how complicated something like this is. I saw someone at criterion barrels get upset saying that it’s not Legos for adults. That people who say that are idiots. Honestly I think legos are more difficult. You can’t get those in the afternoon like you can with this. Mine was criterion 13.9 and cerokote aero and same brand handguard. Looks amazing and the barrels are nuts.
