My parents used to bring us to Disney when we were kids and get these done. 30 years later we brought our kids, and after a conversation with the artist found out it was the same artist that did ours all those years ago that is now doing our kids cut outs. It was an amazing surprise..
I am so glad that Disneyland did not close the silhouette shop there on main street. It is such a rare and wonderful treasure to have. As far as I know there are only a handful of places in the United Sates where this is still done.
My daughter and I met you on this day as you were standing in line. You were very kind, and I was awkward. We are from the Seattle area and only get to the parks maybe once a year. Thank you for the work you do and your messages you give in your videos.

We have done these silhouette portraits a few times. My husband and I did one together when we visited together the first time. Them we had them done for both of our daughters when they were younger. Then we had one done for our 30th anniversary! I’m a huge fan of these portraits. They do such a great job with them every time!
I loooove that Disneyland does these! The line is always long in the morning but I was walking by one night at night around 7pm and it was a 5 minute wait! Such an amazing souvenir

I did this in August with my children. I adore them! If your kids are wiggly or otherwise adverse to waiting, you can take a photo of their profile. That’s what I did, as my toddler would’ve been a complete wildcard, even if it’s only 90 seconds. 😅
That's insane that she just freehands it like that. I thought it was one of those things where they cast you shadow on a paper and then cut out the tracing from that. Crazy. The silhouette of Walt Disney looked like Christopher Lee

I had my sons done when they were little (they aren't anymore) and about five years ago we added my sister to my mom's and my monthly visits so we had ours done. They look fabulous on one my Disney wall.
I called it! About ten seconds in I was "He's talking about silhouettes.". I did this ages ago with Pluto, my favorite Disney character. Oh, I went with the frame option.
My wife and I both had this done by our parents when we were children, then we went and got it done with our kids when they were young and now we have all of our silhouettes on our Disney wall. Such a great memory.

I went back in March, intending to get my kids' silhouettes done while we were there. My husband wanted to catch the outdoor rides before it started raining again, and by the time we had time to go, they looked like hot messes, so I held off. When I changed my mind, the store was closed. Luckily I was told about just bringing a picture, so the next time I went, I got them done. They are so precious! We're going in ten days, and I think I'm going to have the kids sit for them this time. I'm so excited!
Last time our family was in the park we had a silhouette of all 4 of our kids made and, in hindsight, I wish we had done them individually. Instead We chose to do all in one frame. Still a cool souvenir!

Now with a family of my own we have a little Disneyland tradition. We get our childrens silhouette done about every 5-7 years. So when they were 1 and 3, at 5 and 7 and then last year when they were 13 and 15 years old. Best souvenir ever! They look great in a gallery wall with the oval frame and it captures precious memories so perfectly 🥹 I highly recommend starting this little Disney tradition ❤

My partner and I discovered the channel early in 2023 and used the videos for preparation for our trip this past December. Despite having already been to the park myself, I was pretty rusty on the knowledge so these helped a lot. From educating us on how Genie Plus works, to the secret tips on foods and attractions. Seriously, Chris, I just wanted to say that at WDW they do take a side portrait of you so you don't have to sit still, but their artists still cut the silhouettes out by hand.

I would get these as a child and then when we brought our girls. My girls don't have kids but have gotten some for their visits.
