I could be be wrong, but I think the person that could break Bolt’s records would have to have a similar stride length as their base. With that base they'll also need a strong but not necessarily great start followed lastly by top end speed endurance. The last part along with the fastest top end speed ever (Bolt at 27.78 followed by Gay at 27.61) is where Bolt really shined when he was in his prime. I just don't think its possible for guys under 5’10 to beat his records as while they tend to have better starts than the taller runners, their top end speeds aren't as fast as Bolts and they also don't maintain those top speeds as well as Bolt did.

You mean 9.72s? Usain Bolt already set the World Record in 2008 several months before the Olympics. But it wasn't at a big race. Usain Bolt's real introduction as a household name was, of course, the 9.69s in Beijing at the Olympics, where his laces weren't done up, and he slowed down well before the finish line.
These guys are adults, pros and have top trainers helping them, but they're only about 0.5 to 1.0 second faster than some high schoolers and middle schoolers. The record for the region I'm in, and this is in Ontario Canada, is 10.89 for Midget (under 14 yrs), 10.53 for Junior, and 10.41 for Senior. In the USA the record is 9.98 for highschool. I just thought because of all the extra years of training, good nutritient, enhencements, and being and adult would give the pros a huge advantage, but really the result between pros and amateur is quite slim. This sport is really a game of inches.
@@thesource0024 But it's a full-grown enhanced adult vs a juvenile 13-year-old to produce a 1 sec (about 10 metres?) difference though. I had the thought that it would be like me racing an 8 year old kid and beating him by 20-30 metres. Edit: Or maybe I should be impressed by how good and fast a 13 yr old is already.
@@pheejl7534 Bolt the ran 19.93 at 17 (when he wasn’t training properly or taking track seriously), and. Set the record of 19.19 as an adult. Be as impressed as you want, those 13 year olds won’t magically start running 6 seconds in the 100m once they’re 22.
Why is the 100m gping backwards? Even excluding Bolt we had two athletes running under 9.7 over a decade ago, and now the best time of 2023 was 9.83? With all the advancements in training, nutrition, recovery, even track surfaces and the "super spikes", why are we so far off now?
If you think about it, a decade ago there too was only a hand full of sprinters able to run sub 9.75. Imagine today there was just one person running 9.6ish times and the rest around 9.8, nobody would then say 100m is moving backwards just because thereis one single person achieving exceptional times. Without fact checking I'm actually guessing that the 100 has befome deeper when it comes to the number of people running sub 10, its only a matter of time until one of those guys manages to break out.
Also over 200 people like lyles, tebogo or knighton have proven that the talent is still there, running times comparable to those from blake and bolt a decade ago
@@antmolitor You are right that there are more people running under 10s now than 10 years ago, however this is a very small movement of 0.02-0.04s where many runners were just over 10s and now are 9.97-9.99. 10s is still >4% off the world record though, and >3% off what multiple people other than Bolt had done over a decade ago. Using 10s is pretty arbitrary, it would be like measuring the depth of marathons by the number of people running sub 2:06, which is almost double the number of athletes as a 10s 100m. I am talking about the real top end, those medalling at International level. As I said multiple people excluding Bolt ran sub 9.7 over a decade ago, and nobody has got close since. Even extending to 9.8, from 2008-2012 2-3 athletes ran sub 9.8 every year, with 3 being most common. Since then the average has been less than 1, even excluding 2020. It was only because he never really ran the 100 prior to 2007
all top sprinters are on the juice, bolt is just that much better than everyone else
Why you didn't mention Jacob?
because he didnt have a world lead
whats the world lead the fastes time run that yeat?
Yes sir
what about Donovan Bailey in Atlanta in 1996. Last when the race started...and then he came back to win AND with a world record at that time.
0:38 This video can’t be right. Bolt was wearing a blue top and to Gay’s left in that race.
The clip is from his wl of 9.78 - not his race against Bolt
Why do i feel
He said was running faster in 2008 .If he didn’t slow down i think he might have ran below 9:58 .He was flying
he wouldve run around 9.62ish there
Who did Lyles lost to????? And where did he lost the race?
Letsile Tebogo🔥🚀
Tyson Gay has a win rate over 50% against usain bolt over both thr 100 and 200
Who cares, he didn’t beat him when it counted!
@@RAFAAMARILLAS like in 2007?
Tyson defeated Bolt 2 times I think correct me if I’m wrong, 2007 WC 200m finals, and a diamond league 100m race either 2009 or 2010
@@jomohector5274 Gay is 1-3 to Bolt in the 100 and 6-2 to Bolt in the 200. The 100 win was I think the 2010 Stockholm diamond league
@@tynibbs5759 World Championships are irrelevant. Tyson's career achievements will always be tainted... Like, doping.
Tyson Gay beat Usain Bolt on 200m final in Osaka 2007.
You're wrong.
hes talking about 100m
You left out the great Ferdinand Omanyala from Kenya.
never had a world lead
Gatlin should never have been allowed to get those opportunities, banned twice for drug use. Tyson Gay was also caught I believe.
Everyone but bolt was caught haha.
So Gatlin was a double drug cheat, why are you bigging him up?? Bizarre
Yup. Lucky to have a track federation who bailed him out. The US federation has a history of bailing their athletes out.
If Usain Bolt has a son, he can beat the world record.
Jacobs, Tokyo 2020, 9.80
Bruh bolt ran 9.74 before thats 9.69 ...😂
It was still in 2008, his 2007 best was 10.03
Bolt never ran 9.74. He ran 9.76 in Jamaica and then 9.72 in New York.
His personal best was 9.72 before 9.69 in Beijing in 2008.

1 second is HUGE in 100m terms 🤣
1 second is a huge difference lol
Lol spoken like a child
Damn. That means that interesting fact comment I made is gone too 😔
Just post it again HAHAHA.
where is Yohan Blake 9.69??? I think you are wrong my friend
Running PB at 34 isn’t because you’re a legend, it’s the benefits coming n what you couldn’t run for years due to PEDs
So what do you say about Shelley and Kim Collin’s?
@@mssha1980Jesus said to him “I the way,the truth, and life no man come to the Father but by me” John 14:6
They're all on PEDs.
Humanly impossible to run below a 9.5 so I see this record standing for a very long time
BOLT AND BLAKE ARE LEGENDS.
Where's Yohan?
si ma Jacobs che ha vinto le olimpiadi nel 2021 perchè non l'hai nominato?
0:39 yohan blake is the 2nd fastest of all time. he is so underrated.
They actually have a tied record 9.69 but tyson ran that time with a bad start and a head wind
Hoping for knighton coming up in 200
2011 was Yohan Blake with 9.69
Imagine running 9.74 and not even podiuming
Why is the 100m gping backwards? Even excluding Bolt we had two athletes running under 9.7 over a decade ago, and now the best time of 2023 was 9.83? With all the advancements in training, nutrition, recovery, even track surfaces and the "super spikes", why are we so far off now?
Because 9.83 is enough to win gold now. Back in Bolts era, it wasnt. In 2012 u didnt even get a medal with that.
Its kind of crazy that 9.83 was the limit and 3 athletes ran that time
If you think about it, a decade ago there too was only a hand full of sprinters able to run sub 9.75.
In the last 11 years there have been 4 years where NO ONE has run under 9.8s
WHERE IS JACOBS?
Noah lyles mens gold medalist 2024
Hey Jumpman, you forgot to mention 2021 Marcel Jacobs
that wasnt a world lead
Remember when Usain Bolt could slow to a jog and get a 9.69?
You forgot Usain bolt 2012 with his 9.63
They all seem to get slower as the years go by
It's hard to take any of Gatlin's times seriously as he has been banned for doping. Once a cheater always a cheater
Bolt was on the special juice that day lol.
Without bolt the other three would’ve been 1st in todays track
Hu held the record be4 bolt ?
Every one was postive to drug test but usain who ate naturally slept well and train as hard as his collegues 😂🎉
1:24 the top Jamaican there gets off fast man, not sure of his name
Asafa Powell. Former world record holder
here after he won the gold at paris olymptics
来年のパリオリンピックでクリスチャンコールマンが9.7台前半で優勝期待してます!
They can all forget trying to run 9.5x that’ll stand for decades unless someone does it juiced up
imagine Usian Yohan, Tyson and Justin run a 4x100…oh no, Tyson and Justin would drop the fking baton
