Divine Iheme will have that 'next usain bolt' title once people outside of the UK know him a bit better. 10.30 at 14 years old with 4 wind assisted 10.4s, three of which were only +2.2. He also ran 21.63 (-1.0) in the 200, and he doesn't seem overdeveloped

The "prodigies" are usually at their too speed by 16. A guy in my high school ran a 4.3 time on the 40 as a freshman. He ran the same time as a senior, but then again he was a football player and had more muscle as a senior.

I think there are a lot of very fast kids out there. I taught a kid that ran 11.16s for the 100m aged 12. He is now an Olympian (British hurdler Tade Ojora), but he hasn’t yet made the really big time. I hope he does: he was a good kid.
Erriyon KNIGHTON is only 20 now...21 in January. Under 19.5 seconds at just 18 years 3 months old in 2022! Astounding to me even if he never ran again! If he stays healthy and drops 1/10th a second a year for the next 4 years he will break the 200m record!
It's not your talent. It's how you develop. The training that Bolt did to get to the next level a lot of athletes can't manage it, and even when they can, Bolt just shows that he's totally different. Talent plus how your body develops plus the training you give it to facilitate its unique development.
Hah thats awesome. I used to coach #1 James Gallaugher. He was a fantastic talent and a good kid. Got picked off to do football however. He'd still be a weapon if he came back and got back to sprinting.
Be the next carl lewis, not usain. Be a great overall track and field athlete. Everyone doesn't need to win the 100m gold medals every single championship to be great
I love your work. First thing I thought about when that athlete turned it around at 28, is he finally found the right drugs or upped his dose. don't tell you don't think every athlete at top level isn't using everything they can to get an edge.
The age grade stars often never amount to anything close to adult stars solely because they are just early developers. 12 year old kids with 17 year old bodies is more of a freak show than anything resembling talent.
tbh knigthon is a year younger than tebogo and ppl seem to forget it don't get me wrong i still think tebogo is a more acomplished junior, but we need to remind ourselves that when kingthon ran 19.49 he still was only 18, while tebogo ran 19.50 at 20
Knighton has struggled to hit the same times ever since certain allegations came about, though. Jus sayin... And even discounting that, Tebogo seems to have a better capacity to deliver when it matters, and excels at multiple disciplines. He is so versatile as a sprinter that he can conceivably challenge world records in both the 200m and 400m, and push towards 9.7X in the 100m.

Genuinely depends on how these athletes are "cycling" in their late teens and beyond. If you've got the inclination to do steroids and risk it all... or are anti drug abuse and go the honourable way in a supposedly natty competition . Everybody knows .... that's the way it goes .
