Hello! First, thank you so much for purchasing our Liquid Gold and sharing your feedback with the community 😊
We recommend not using water with this range: the metallic pigments can tarnish immediately if in contact with water, even contact with a paintbrush that has been rinsed in water and is still moist. It may cause the paint to rust and coagulate, which can cause a dark brown color. Also, you can get better and smoother finishes with an airbrush (avoid thinner or water for thinning); this will apply a very thin layer of paint that will look great when applied, but in case you are using a brush, you have to apply very very thin layers of paint (take care with brushstrokes) and let it dry before adding a second one. And last but not least, black primer is the best option for our metallics and also Liquid Gold products; with black base, you will have excellent coverage and finish :) We hope you can enjoy our color in your future painting sessions with our tips 😊

Te volvemos a comentar:

I would opt to using an airbrush. I usually prime black for gold. I would recommend using a .5 needle is you have problems with spitting as sometimes the paint particles can be too large to pass through a .2 or .3. You want to layer it up as well. I would actually use gloss black primer too as it can help stop the paint from dulling a bit.

The paint is useless with a brush. It is alkoholbased so it also solves your akrylics. It is not mixing well so pigment varies when you paint. It cannot produce even coverage easily. The alcohol it its paint silves the paint itself so overpainting doesnt work either. I give it a 1/10 with brush.
It is solid in an airbrush. Even and better. Just make sure to not overpaint something that it solves..

I bought 4 colors from this range - gold, rich gold, white gold and old gold. I have the exact problem with 3 of these. Only the old gold works perfectly as it is supposed to. Even if you dont shake the bottle, you should see a thin but shiny surface on top, thats what i see from the old gold. However, the other 3 just look like the video, and dont work as supposed to. Yeah, we all know its alcohol based, so it's not caused by water.

Get the same issue when I used liquids gold. The liquid separated and bad converges and no shine. It is quite bad
I saw other video of hand brush with liquid gold, the liquid is not that low viscosity
    Does they change the formula?

Hello Tony! Liquid Gold paint has an extremely low viscosity due to its alcohol-based formula. This may give the impression that the paint is not well mixed, as the metallic pigment can appear to be moving. However, this is not the case. To achieve the best result, it is recommended to apply this paint with an airbrush and in very thin layers. It is also important to use a black primer or base. It should be noted that varnishes do not work well with this type of paint, as they can reduce the shining effect. 😊

Alchohol based metalics typically need a top coat to prevent damage from even very weak solvents in other paints @@tonylau9093

I’m having the same problem with this color right now.

Hello Glennfeldt2009! Our Liquid Gold paint is an alcohol-based product so it "seems" that is not mixed completely but it is (the movement in the video is because of the alcohol formula 😊). In order to achieve optimal outcomes, it is imperative to apply paint in extremely thin layers and utilize an airbrush. Should one use a brush, it is possible to generate visible brushstrokes if excessive amounts of paint (a little drop can ruin the model) are applied in certain areas. It is important to bear in mind that paint is a highly fluid substance, and excessive accumulation can result in undesired consequences. The best results are achieved with a black primer :)
