Hyper Megaman is a huge shoutout to Mazinger Z, one of the most recognizable mechas in giant robot anime. Seeing as how Megaman himself was first inspired by popular anime character Astro Boy, the super move seems very appropriate
You know, the one thing I don't like about these old arcade fighter ports is how what button you press to select a character determines their color scheme, they don't tell you which button gets which color, and you're locked into your choice. That just seems like something that should've been changed when porting the game over
It Was More Annoying In The Old Street Fighter Games. Besides They Had So Many Costumes. Some Ports Fix That By Showing You The Colors Which Confuses Me On Some Other Ports.
SomecallmeJohnny the next time you, Elliot and Matt play this game, as soon as you hit Level 3, press quarter circle back, hp+hk. You will thank me later.
1. Gambit is from Louisiana, not Mississippi. 2. I am surprised DC didn't sue over the 'Truth, Justice and the American way' (Superman) that was used on Cap's win screen.
Captain Commando was supossed to be Capaom's mascot. He comes from the obscure beat-em up Captain Commando. It takes place in a future version of Metro City from Final Fight.
captain commando was the original mascot for capcom was even featured in some of the manuals of certain capcom games[providing protips iirc]. he even had his own game on the snes, an arcade style beat 'em up. i would love to see you do that for a future lp[though i don't know if it's on vc and can't remember which capcom collection set it's part of, if any at all]!
Captain Commando is from an obscure Beat 'em Up Capcom made on the SNES (see what they did there?) which, supposedly, takes place in Metro City in the future, same Metro City from Final Fight apparently.
2:57 "Where the f**k was that in the previous games?" Mega Man 6 introduced Rush Adaptors which allowed Mega Man to merge with Rush to form a powerful, rocket punching, hover enabling armor. For MvC, Capcom decided to expand on this idea and have Mega Man use Adaptors to merge with Rush, Beat AND Eddie to form Hyper Mega Man. You can see them merging to start the move if you slow the footage from 2:54 down.
I remeber playing this all the time on my old Dreamcast, still have it. And also my old girlfriend would kick my ass all the time on Marvel vs Capcom 2
Would there be any chance of you guys doing a shooter for smackdown sundays? And tofollow up that question, have any of you played the str wars battlefront games?
Well, the Hulk takes multiple hits to be staggered when starting any attack, so he's likely already combo'd your ass before you can start. Ama is short enough that she's below most weak/med attacks and has a massive combo that hits around 10x or so, taking nearly 50% of almost anyone she's against, and that's not including chained specials at the end. He also recovers from staggering about as quick as most characters reset after attacking, so she can retaliate immediately if you goof up. D:
Love the video but it pained me to see the lack of secret moves I plugged in my playstation and did all of Ryun transformations and specials including lights out
Who cares...Laura Bailey voiced kid Trunks and Shin Chan and Stephanie Nadolny voiced kid Goku, and kid Gohan but nobody has a problem with them so lets all go to the cheesecake factory and have some pie.
For me, where the 360 has a poor d-pad is that after prolonged use it becomes real slippery because at its base it is a d-pad in name only as there is nothing pad about it and it's just a flat joystick. Whereas the ps1/2/3 d-pads are tighter and feel more synonymous to d-pads from the snes/genesis/nes controllers. Not saying the 360 d-pad is unplayable (I still use it frequently) just when compared it doesn't hold up.
That comment Johnny made about the 360 control pad being inferior to the ps3's kinda confuses me. I can tell that their is a difference between the two, but what make the ps3's better than the 360's?
You know what, I can see the 360 d-pad being more complex than the ps3's d-pad. However, I thought that in instances when you're doing a quarter-circle forward in Street Fighter it would be easier to use; or if you're in a 2-D top-down rpg, moving around in all directions would be feel more natural. That could just be me, though.
Captain Commando is Capcom original mascot... Get it CAPtain COMmando :). Capcom is also short for Capsule Computer and there was my useless trivia for today.
Anita is from Darkstalkers, she's travels together with Donovan, a Darkstalker hunter who was part Darkstalker himself. Captain Commando is a character from an old side scroll beat 'em up that Capcom released. And Gambit is from Louisiana. And Morrigan lvl 3 super is an innuendo for her having sex with her opponent.
I know at least how to get roll. Start at Zangief then press left two times, down two times, right two times, down 2 times, left two times, up, right, up two times, and right two times. A lot of them have combos like that.
Ah yes In the Arcade I used to play this. I only choose Venom and Mega-man. I would be lucky if I got past stage 1.... As for Marvel VS Capcom 2 I would be lucky to have 1 of my 3 men survive...
Wait, if Mega Man beats Spider-Man, does that mean he gets the Web Shooter? Or if he beats Iron Man does he get the Repulsor Blast?
yes
The Charged Version For Iron Man Would Be Proton Cannon.
Sure, Wynaut?
Hyper Megaman is a huge shoutout to Mazinger Z, one of the most recognizable mechas in giant robot anime. Seeing as how Megaman himself was first inspired by popular anime character Astro Boy, the super move seems very appropriate
Yeah it does make for an interesting easter egg.
You know, the one thing I don't like about these old arcade fighter ports is how what button you press to select a character determines their color scheme, they don't tell you which button gets which color, and you're locked into your choice. That just seems like something that should've been changed when porting the game over
i know right that crap is so annoying
well MVC 1 did only have 1 alternate color for each character, and only 2 characters per team.
Actually I think it was like three or four. I say that because I remember Mega Man having red, green, and grey color schemes.
That was in the PlayStation version.
It Was More Annoying In The Old Street Fighter Games. Besides They Had So Many Costumes. Some Ports Fix That By Showing You The Colors Which Confuses Me On Some Other Ports.
Mississippi no no matt, Gambit is from the bayou, Lousiana.
Elliot lost to the ultimate belly flop.
Elliot, Morrigan is a succubus. She's kinda all about that kind of those kind of lines, since they seduce men.
These guys would have a hell of a time with You Don't Know Jack, thumbs up if you would agree.
15:10 - ZANGIEF OUTTA FUCKIN NOWHERE
Spider-Man gets defeated. Equip Weapon. -S- Web Shooter
3:55 Morrigan, hanging out with little boys I see...
MvC2 was set on Abyss' island, that's why they seemed "generic".
SomecallmeJohnny the next time you, Elliot and Matt play this game, as soon as you hit Level 3, press quarter circle back, hp+hk. You will thank me later.
I always thought that Captain Commando was Capcoms version of the Ginyu force.
good video guys 😀
oh my god the universe would explode from that moment of pure awesomeness
speaking of Thor i always wonderd why marvel did a series of him to begin with
15:09 SUDDENLY ZANGIEF!
13:17-America and Russia! RAISE YOUR VOICE!
did u guys just make a hellsing ultimate abriged episode 3 reference
15:09 LOOK IN THE SKY IT'S A BIRD IT'S A PLANE NO IT'S ZANGIEF
"Who the fuck is Captain Commando?"
everytime I hear that question, a piece of my heart breaks away
1. Gambit is from Louisiana, not Mississippi.
2. I am surprised DC didn't sue over the 'Truth, Justice and the American way' (Superman) that was used on Cap's win screen.
The character roster in Marvel vs Capcom games is usually based on the animated series at the time or their most popular comic titles at the time
Captain Commando was supossed to be Capaom's mascot. He comes from the obscure beat-em up Captain Commando. It takes place in a future version of Metro City from Final Fight.
Loved that DYNAMIC ENTRY K.O. in one of those battles.
Captain america's grunts are just hilarious. AHHH!!!
My favorite fighting game.
...guys you mean.
captain commando was the original mascot for capcom was even featured in some of the manuals of certain capcom games[providing protips iirc]. he even had his own game on the snes, an arcade style beat 'em up. i would love to see you do that for a future lp[though i don't know if it's on vc and can't remember which capcom collection set it's part of, if any at all]!
ASJGHKLASDGH YOU SAID IT! YOU SAID DOH I MISSED! I officially love you guys.
Johnny's "bitch" was perfectly executed. My props on that John! And Matt, you were so close! Lol great job though guys!
Captain Commando is from an obscure Beat 'em Up Capcom made on the SNES (see what they did there?) which, supposedly, takes place in Metro City in the future, same Metro City from Final Fight apparently.
wen they are playing as gambit wen he throws the cards does anyone else hear credit card?
Cajun=Louisiana
Truth Justice and the American Way is an American slogan. It wasn't a DC line, Superman was quoting it.
I love this game and I love Marvel vs Capcom 3 because it's incredibly fun and nostalgic!
These are the days I could be a random guest entry and share some knowledge and play some games. lol
2:57 "Where the f**k was that in the previous games?"

Lewis is here? And he speaks for Elliot? Amazing that Lewis is even in Johnny's area.
Louisianian.
Merry Christmas Johnny, Elliot and Matt!
Hello SGB, I would like to wish you a happy ChrHanauKwanzaa for the holidays...
But seriously, happy holidays guys!
I remeber playing this all the time on my old Dreamcast, still have it. And also my old girlfriend would kick my ass all the time on Marvel vs Capcom 2
*what zangief is thinking* JIZZ IN MY PANTS XD
Would there be any chance of you guys doing a shooter for smackdown sundays? And tofollow up that question, have any of you played the str wars battlefront games?
5:30-5:50
Elliot was seriously channeling Ted there.
I want to see a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat more than anything...
The first one has always been my favorite.
Zangeif wins with the dynamic entry, awesome
Marvel vs Capcom 2 still is to this day is my favorite fighting game though!
Who cares...Laura Bailey voiced kid Trunks and Shin Chan and Stephanie Nadolny voiced kid Goku, and kid Gohan but nobody has a problem with them so lets all go to the cheesecake factory and have some pie.
Is there a way in the game where I could remove those borders on the left and right, I always failed at doing so.
Will you guys LP the Meganman meets Streetfighter game?
Lou is from Three Wonders arcade only game.
Final match, what the hell did Zangief PLANK spidey for the KO?
Who the Fuck is camptain commando

it seems elliot graduated from ted's school of puns
That comment Johnny made about the 360 control pad being inferior to the ps3's kinda confuses me. I can tell that their is a difference between the two, but what make the ps3's better than the 360's?
Aaaah, the first Marvel vs Capcom... Back in the day when the music actually fitted with what's going on, instead of being Jazz.
Dammit Johnny right when I'm about to sleep
You know, alot of people seem to think that. I'm not a fan of Tekken, so could you fill me in on what makes the games after 3 so unappealing?
Dreamcast, PSX, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, Sega Dreamcast, and if I were to guess, PC as well.
You guys should do Power Stone 1 and 2
I was hoping to see Elliot win at least one round... Oh well, there's always next time, right? :D
What game system is Marvel vs. Capcom 1 on?
Captain Commando is Capcom original mascot... Get it CAPtain COMmando :). Capcom is also short for Capsule Computer and there was my useless trivia for today.
so I guess you don't have the other characters unlocked?
Captain commando is from an awsome beat em up arcade game
You guys really don't want me to go to sleep, don't you.
Anita is from Darkstalkers, she's travels together with Donovan, a Darkstalker hunter who was part Darkstalker himself.
Captain Commando is a character from an old side scroll beat 'em up that Capcom released.
And Gambit is from Louisiana.
And Morrigan lvl 3 super is an innuendo for her having sex with her opponent.
no fight with Mega Man and Iron Man in the same team or against each other? I am dissapointed!
Mega Man and Roll's transformation Hypers are a shout-out to Mazinger-Z and Aphrodite-A.
Anita is from Darkstalkers 2.
Wheel of fortune: Round two!
OK, How about Soulcalibur II then?
I am surprised nobody of you used Iron Man at least once.
Sonicshadowfusion
Iron Man isn't in this game
I agree with Matt. MvC3 just didn't keep me interested in it like the 1st two ones.
I can't wait for UMvC3
Maybe Elliot got some tech PogChamp
Oh god, why would you stretch this to 16:9?
Didn't Elliott win a bunch of matches in the last few smackdowns?
Dammit johnny it's 1 in the morning. on Christmas Eve. Do you even sleep?
I was looking forward to Jeopardy! D:
I find umvc3 the best of the mvc games
How about some Tatsunoko Vs Capcom!
Dang it I was gonna bring that up too.
Still have this game on the Sega Dreamcast. Although I prefer Marvel vs. Capcom 2, its still fun to play sometimes.
if johnny was good at cpt. commando he would use the cpt. keep away tactic
I know at least how to get roll. Start at Zangief then press left two times, down two times, right two times, down 2 times, left two times, up, right, up two times, and right two times. A lot of them have combos like that.
Are you guys gonna play Mario Party?
You guys should do Sonic the Fighters.
The first character I saw, was Mega Man... what does that say about me?
Ah yes In the Arcade I used to play this. I only choose Venom and Mega-man. I would be lucky if I got past stage 1.... As for Marvel VS Capcom 2 I would be lucky to have 1 of my 3 men survive...
Strider Hiryu.
'Nuff said.
You guys should do tekken 6
BTW, do Sonic The Fighters on the Gems Collection...
13:19 set up for a spirit bomb.
