The fact that Elliot hasn't seen Jackie chan movies piss me off, seriously ill get even more mad if he hasn't seen a jet li movie either or any other popular martial artist movie
Maybe we should've practiced a bit more, but you can't expect all three of us to be proficient in every fighting game we play. Everybody has their preference, and this is simply Matt's, and it shows. Me and Elliot knew what we were getting ourselves into, but that didn't stop us, because that wouldn't be fair to Matt.
Tekken 2 really does have certain awfully strict combos timing-wise, luckily, it was pretty much fixed in Tekken 3. When playing Tekken 2 and going for the 10-hit dial-a-combos, I generally mash each button and instead focus on watching the character's animations to see when I should switch to another button. If I try to only input the exact combination, I only get it out half of the time if even that.
Yeah, I found that getting gift points in the game takes forever, even when you fight others online. I was kinda hoping that they would change the required gift points for unlocking characters after adding in Jin and Xiaoyu, but it hasn't as far as I know.
Tekken was the fighting series I grew up with. Ive always enjoyed Tekken 3 the most in my childhood and it was the first fighting game I've played. ^_^
Have any of you tried Tekken Revolution? From what I've read it takes elements from Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 6, but seems watered down compared to the former. I still have fun with it though.
Tekken 3 was my first Tekken game, so going from that to 1 or 2 is rather painful, Tekkens 3 and onward feel just so much more fluid to me. Tekken 3, 5 (+Dark Resurrection) and both Tekken Tage Tournament games are all fantastic fighting games.
To think there would come a day that Elliot would be telling Johnny to commentate more. He's come full circle folks. He was once the apprentice but is now the master. And other such nonsense
I have it, and its pretty fun. It plays like the older Tekken games, (mostly Tekken 4 and 5 to me) and they got rid of the bound system that Tekken 6 and Tag Tournament 2 had, and the online is really good. My only knitpick about it is that it takes forever to unlock characters. Overall, its a fun game and I highly recommend it to any old school Tekken fan.
I fucking LOOVE Tekken to death. Partly due to nostalgia, but also because I always felt like this was one of the more balanced fighters in the genre. The way the game plays with combos & more up close combat in general really does bring every character to the same level & tier lists never felt as busted as they are in some other fighters. You can pick to main one of the "Low tier" fighters & still put up a fight against a "high tier" mainer. You also can't Hadouken or sweep kick combo your way out of fights, so that's a +
Yeah because i never really heard much about the series, i only played 1 and beaten it because i was at my aunt and was bored. Once i beaten it I did not know what was happening I was 10 and try learning the move set it was weird. But there another fighting game I like to see a PS1 game with a main person having a sword, but you might know it if i said the old man with a move where he rolls the earth for some reason and it was on the Game boy as well.
I'm more of a casual player at fighting games. That's because I generally suck at fighting games but that doesn't stop me from playing one every once in the blue. I'm more of a Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and most recently, Injustice player.
Ah, I barely played that one since I've never owned it. I've actually played all of them except for Tag Tournament 2, but never actually owned any of them except for Revolution. Mainly got it because it was free lol but still pretty fun.
I have finally beaten Tekken 1, 2, and 3 on the classic PlayStation! I wish for you three to pick out Tekken 1 or 3 so I'll be watching you who will win the Iron Fist Tournament! So...will it be Elliot, Johnny, or Matt? Find out...next time on the SGB Smackdown sundays!
Well can't say I blame you. Personally, my only big problem with the first two games is that the characters seem to have narcolepsy or something since they never get up when they're knocked down. (I mean while I haven't lost the fight yet) That was the main thing that I hated about the first two games, I can kinda live with the somewhat stiff controls and even the high jumps. Still like the first two games though.
Quick Question:Has anyone ever owned the PlayStation Interactive CD Sampler Pack Volume Three?..........I remember playing the shit out the demos and watching the trailers on that very disk. Good times =)
He probably wasn't, but I love how annoyed Johnny sounds at Matt towards the end. Keep the fighting games coming guys!
Bro Jonny sounds so salty in the end LOL
After Elliot said he never saw a Bruce Lee film, I expected Matt to say "Your disowned from the family" lol
The fact that Elliot hasn't seen Jackie chan movies piss me off, seriously ill get even more mad if he hasn't seen a jet li movie either or any other popular martial artist movie

I mean you guys may wanna practice on the next ones. Trust me. You'll love Tekken 3
I love in Tekken 6, there's this joke item that Paul has, if you wear it and input a particular button combo, his hair grows. To insane heights.
Yeah, the patch will go live on the 16th. It comes with a few other additions as well, which are pretty neat.
my favourite in the series of tekken so many memories as a kid playing so many hours in vs mode with my friends
Just found you guys and I'm real happy I did! This is hysterical! I'm real glad you all covered a Tekken game! My favorite game series of all times.
"My leg, but also my face!"
Isn't that from Spongebob?
I also loved Tekken. My favorite was tied with Tekken tag tournament 2 and Tekken 5
One of my favorite fighting games ever
I can't belive Johnny died on the first one with only one hit. IT'S A CATASHROPHY!!!!!!
"Dance peasants dance" still cracks me up after all these years
I want to see them go Street Fighter Third Strike, the inclusion of parries will certainly give the tools for them to at least make it interesting.
I would love to play against Matt in Tekken.
Tekken 5's my favorite, I've spent so much time on that game in my childhood.
It would be awesome to see some Killer Instinct on Smackdown Sunday.
it would be great to see you guys play another Tekken
Tekken 2 really does have certain awfully strict combos timing-wise,
luckily, it was pretty much fixed in Tekken 3.
When playing Tekken 2 and going for the 10-hit dial-a-combos,
I generally mash each button and instead focus on watching the character's animations to see when I should switch to another button.
If I try to only input the exact combination, I only get it out half of the time if even that.
I hope you guys will someday do the other Tekken games. I'd love to see that. :D
Yeah, I found that getting gift points in the game takes forever, even when you fight others online. I was kinda hoping that they would change the required gift points for unlocking characters after adding in Jin and Xiaoyu, but it hasn't as far as I know.
Are we just gonna ignore that amazing Silver Cyclone Matt landed?
This was the first fighting game I ever played.
Hwoarang, and more recent Lars are really fun, and easy to play, also combo with.
Thanks. Wonder if they will do that game?
Tekken was the fighting series I grew up with.
Ive always enjoyed Tekken 3 the most in my childhood and it was the first fighting game I've played. ^_^
Johnny was too funny at the end. I grew up playing Tekken 3 myself. I was never good at it but it was really fun.
Also, Kuma (Heihachi's bear) is in every game.
Have any of you tried Tekken Revolution? From what I've read it takes elements from Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 6, but seems watered down compared to the former. I still have fun with it though.
Would love to see you guys do kirby air ride for the Gamecube for smackdown Sunday. Mainly city trial mode. You guys might love it.
I love the Tekken. My favourite fighting game series :)
Probably my favorite character select theme
Man, I miss playing Tekken 2.
This game has one of the best Character select themes!
You know, it makes me wonder how they would fair on MUGEN with their own characters.
You also have gained respect for having the best villain as your avatar.
6:42 More like Godzilla Vs Kangaroo Jack! XD
That began with the last Mortal Kombat SMS. This is Chapter 3: Matt's Revengeance.
i do recall him doing the lp but ithought matt was mortal kombat king... ugh now im confused
what that fighting game with the people changes into animals I forgot?
Onlyone I've really played a lot of is Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Really fun. Lili and Alisa combo is my best.
Alex's death cry is the Riptor's cry from the original Killer Instinct
Tekken 2 is a great game, I love it!:)
Im pretty good with Lili and Asuka, especially with Lili since her combos are easy to pull off. :)
Here's an odd question: do you guys compress your video footage before uploading it to TH-cam?
Matt is a tekken master!
That was already two rounds already, f**k that was less than a minute.
hope they do more tekken games
SGB: Tekken 2:
Final Results:
John: 1
Elliot: 0
Matt: 8
OVERALL WINNER: MATT
OVERALL LOSER: ELLIOT
+FengShuiDoubleY This is funny since you can't see the overall loser, but it's a LOL.
My favourite thing about Law is the backflip kick though I prefer Soul Blade / Edge though.
Would you guys play a bloody roar game i love them.
Tell me about it. Yoshimitsu have some healing moves (and some moves that can kill you).
Elliot held his own pretty damn well for his first time playing Tekken ever.
The of that luege in: UNREAL!! 01:22
Should've called this Matt Metelli: Curbstomp Sunday.
Finally, i've been waiting for this for so long!
To think there would come a day that Elliot would be telling Johnny to commentate more. He's come full circle folks. He was once the apprentice but is now the master. And other such nonsense
Why is it that half the time when Matt picks a game, I end up yelling "Yes!" because it's usually a game I love?
Oh, Matt. The Memory Card Corruption game was Soul Calibur III, not II. I got hit by that glitch myself. :/
Thanks, it's one of my favourite DS games.
I haven't played it myself, so I don't know, sorry. I'm sure you can just Google it if you're interested.
3:13 THEN EXPLAIN HOW MY DAD BECAME GOOD AT TEKKEN FIRST FRIKEN TIME, AND HE PLAYED STREET FIGHTER MOST OF HIS LIFE!!!
Magic.
I grew up with this shit, so this is my element
Also i am a tekken aficionado
I fucking LOOVE Tekken to death. Partly due to nostalgia, but also because I always felt like this was one of the more balanced fighters in the genre.

AlluMan96 Eh I always preferred Dead or Alive, but that's just me.
Devin Henderson its the boobs, wasnt it?
This was the first fighting game I played.
what it is it about and nice youtube icon. i liked that game a lot
Yeah because i never really heard much about the series, i only played 1 and beaten it because i was at my aunt and was bored. All hail Kind Matt.
*Gives him a coconut drink*
Kuma in the first 2 games is the father of Kuma in the rest of the games
Tekken 2, AKA Matt continuing his Mortal Kombat 2 streak.
The bug wasn't in soul calibur 2, it was soul calibur 3
Nice, Recently got into tekken.
How do you get Kazuya? I thought you could play as him when you first start.
+AJ Knight
I think you have to beat the game with Heihachi
I did that. No Kazuya.
AJ Knight
He IS an unlockable though.
Forgive me for being wrong, it's been over ten years since I've had to unlock the characters.
+AJ Knight Beat Devil using any sub-boss and have every sub-boss unlocked
+Butts Butts when you beat the game with Heihachi, you unlock Lee.
this game and 4 i played when i was a kid i love tekken 4 right now thought i still prefer soul caliber
This is the game I keeped since it's first release and still use a ps1 for this an final fantasy
Never mind Elliot said the name and it pop into my head.
Yoshimitsu? Did I see that correctly?
I'm more of a casual player at fighting games. That's because I generally suck at fighting games but that doesn't stop me from playing one every once in the blue. I'm more of a Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and most recently, Injustice player.
On-disc DLC even.
Have you played Street Fighter X Tekken, Ryan?
Ah, I barely played that one since I've never owned it. I've actually played all of them except for Tag Tournament 2, but never actually owned any of them except for Revolution. Mainly got it because it was free lol but still pretty fun.
what is bloody roar?
Matt getting his revenge lol
I was really hoping they'd fight at Michelle's stage
I have finally beaten Tekken 1, 2, and 3 on the classic PlayStation! I wish for you three to pick out Tekken 1 or 3 so I'll be watching you who will win the Iron Fist Tournament! So...will it be Elliot, Johnny, or Matt? Find out...next time on the SGB Smackdown sundays!
matt...you gained respect
Well can't say I blame you.

maybe you should do a sly 3 multiplayer smackdown sunday once you get to lp sly 2.
should have played on team battle to show off all the stages.
Tekken 2: Rumbling in New York
i remember playing a tekken game on ps2 and always picking Jin because i thought he look cool
I remember loving Bloody Roar 2, but to be honest, the Bloody Roar games never were very good.
But I would still love to see them play it. ^^
I love Tekken soooooooooooooo much!
Quick Question:Has anyone ever owned the PlayStation Interactive CD Sampler Pack Volume Three?..........I remember playing the shit out the demos and watching the trailers on that very disk. Good times =)
