Millions of devotees in the Philippine capital Manila flooded the streets to celebrate the annual Feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9, 2024. During the country’s biggest display of Catholic piety, worshippers walked in a procession behind a cart pulling a centuries-old statue of Jesus Christ, that some believe has healing powers. It was the first time the parade has been held since 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic forced officials to drastically downsize the event. It was cancelled altogether from 2021-2023.

For the my fellow Catholics who feel sad and angry for how others judge and say things to us. Please remember Jesus was crucified, many of his disciples and saints were executed all because of people who judged and say things against them. Let us all be humble and be like our Lord and his followers. Let them say what they want and persecute us but still we should forgive and pray for them for that is how we trully follow our Lord's footsteps.

The old testament was for the jews that worships the Father, but the jews broke this rule. This procession is called "Traslación."
In Christianity, the "translation of relics" refers to the removal of holy objects from one locality to another.
"Translation" is the English word while "traslación" is Spanish.
For example, "La traslación de las reliquias de San Vicente de Paúl" means the translation or transfer of the relics of St. Vincent de Paul.
There is no translacion in the Bible more so in Protestant churches. We don’t worship the saints. Only Catholic does.

An Interesting Fact: the Black Nazarene image that's used in every year's procession is actually an amalgam of the original image (specifically the torso part), and replica parts
I think the reason was because in 1998, a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo, a Christian sect in the Philippines, attempted to shoot the Nazarene. The cheek of the image was shot, hence the need to secure it by replacing the head with a replica.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Black Nazarene refers to a life-sized, dark-colored statue of Jesus Christ that was brought to Manila, Philippines, from Mexico on May 31, 1606, by the first group of Augustinian Recollect friars sent by Spain.
Pope Innocent X approved the statue for veneration in 1650 as a Sacramental and Pope Pius VII gave the statue his Apostolic Blessing in 1880, which granted plenary indulgence to those who piously pray before the statue.

Even if this practice of Catholics is truly Biblical, then these "devotees" only go there to touch the statue so they can harvest healing powers and luck from that carved image. Majority of these people don't even show up for Sunday to worship the Lord. They don't want to live like a true Christian according to the Bible's standard
