We have more American cemetery in Clark and Iloilo city. I hope some if not all can visit them too. Without them we are all talking Japanese in the Philippines. Looking out onto the vast field of crosses and Stars of David, it was as if the ghosts of the rows and rows of soldiers, sailors, and marines were standing at attention, ready to serve their country again. It is for us, the living, to remember Lincoln's words at another cemetery. "that the government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from this earth." This will only happen if righteousness prevails and despots and wannabes fail. My cousin lost at sea, is listed on the memorial wall.

"a marine who went down in 1945 in the SOUTHEAST PACIFIC"
Im sure that is an error because that would be closer to South America than East Asia.

    • @joshi6898

If your point of reference is in USA but if the one taking is in the Philippines, South East Pacific is somewhere in Polynesian Islands. In fact Philippines itself is in south east Asia which is in the Pacific. Obviously This guy is in the Philippines.

Southeast Asia is the right term today. South Pacific is the popular term 100 years ago if you want to use Pacific ocean as the base of reference. You are rigth about southeast pacific as closer to south america.
