Preludes op 40: 00:09 1) Allegretto in F sharp major 01:34 2) Andante in B minor 04:13 3) Con moto in E major 05:27 4) Sostenuto in F sharp major 08:23 5) Allegro in D major 09:39 6) Andantino dolente in F sharp minor 14:15 7) Appassionato in E major
The impression of reading Alice in Wonderland / On the Other Side of the Mirror (Lewis Caroll) with my ears... Same perceptions, same understandings and encodings ... With great and rare intelligence, each listening is a constantly renewed state of fullness
Beautiful Preludes, reminescent of Chopin, Rachmaninov and with an evident slavic feeling at their core. Marvellous number 2 , in particular, with its dotted rhythm and elegiac character, while number three has something in common with same Author's Eros op 24 n 3. Thanks a lot, very good choice!
All composers got inspired by other composers. Chopin wrote many of his works depending on other composers’ models, like his etude op 25 no 5 in e minor is completely inspired by etude op 125 in e minor by Hummel. And many others..
I'm grateful that Mr. Somero has preformed so many of these Bortkiewicz pieces.
Thank You!!
@@JouniSomeroMusic You are an awesome pianist!!
@@none5020 Thank You!😊
If Scriabin ever listened to the last Prelude here, he would have definitely been wondering "When the fuck did I write this???"
In his F# major Sonata :D
Of couse, it is literally Scriabin's style and harmony!!
No he wouldn't, he would never write garbage.
@@Whatismusic123 Now the world knows you dislike Bortkiewicz
@@Whatismusic123 Just as good as Scriabin. Sometimes better...
Sounded like Bortkiewicz composed these pieces after playing a lot of Scriabin!
Absolutely amazing set of preludes - thank you so much for sharing! 🙏
No. 4 (5:27) is so heavenly beautiful. It's the closest thing to perfection I know.
5:46 very similar to scriabin fantasy sonata in piu vivo section . He copied so much from scriabin and Chopin
Thank you very much for sharing . 💙🌷🌷🌷🎹🎵 (Holland)
Un ottima e interessantissima presentazione.Mi piace Bortkiewicz e questo ,come altri, è un pregevole inserimento.Bravo.

Definitely more reminiscent of Scriabin than Rachmaninov!
@@marsaeolus9248 I agree! In no.4 and 7 especially.
01:33 that rhythm motif is same to Chopin and Scriabins prelude or etude.
Is inspiration came from Chopin too but he did nothing very unique like Scriabin
@@Nonononono213 The prelude number 7 is somehow reminiscent of what Scriabin could have done.
@@j.thomas1420 I agree
Jouni Somero www.jounisomero.com
No. 4 is a mix between Scriabin's etudes op. 8 no. 12, and op. 42 no. 4.
4:15 Loool, this prelude (3rd in a row) is very similar to his Mazurka op 64. No. 2 ! Almost the same harmony !)
Wow doesn't no.1 sound like it's straight out of Chopin's Op.25? Wow
Heck of a way to begin a piece.
9:10
0:09 if this is Allegretto, what's Presto then?
❤
I love the harmonic language but the octaves become too over-bearing
no.5 you mean?
💙🇺🇦💛💫
Can this guy write anything fucking easy lmao
Wow doesn't no.1 sound like it's straight out of Chopin's Op.25 or 28?

Thank I play many of these works. I’m sick of Chopin.

N 2 molto simile a molti preludi lenti di scriabin
