I only recently stumbled across Ruthie singing Send In The Clowns and was totally blow away. So as soon as I was able to learn her name I started looking to see what else she sang and caught her All That Jazz but when I heard her sing Liike We Never Said Goodby and that was it, I was hooked. Wow, Between Elaine Paige, Lea Salonga and Ruthie - three totally different performances, each bring something diverse to it. For raw emotion, Ruthie is probably the best! Love it.
Interesting alternative lyrics huh? Wonder if they are Lloyd-Webber approved! Ruth has a tendency to squeeze out notes from her throat, but I have you give it to her she really opens up here and chest-belts in all the right places for full effect.
I've listened to Babs' ad nauseum over time and... i dunno. love this just as much if not more. more subtle... more nuanced... just different. personally i prefer it. :) obviously they're both fierce. and i may be forever biased in Ruthie's favor... can't help it!

There is a reason it's called musical theatre--one needs to be able to sing to play the part and Glenn could not sing! Sorry to those who love her as Norma!
