I'm glad there has been improvement in the photo quality of the 48 mp photos. Great information Vic, and thanks for sharing.

Excellent video Vic, thanks, confirms my own thoughts and tests, but from someone who knows what their talking about 👍
Thanks for all your technical evaluation of the drones 👌

Great technical videos, even for beginners. You give good info to us that are traditional photographers. I'm a wildlife photographer new to drones. It was intended as an aid to my wildlife photography, but after viewing videos like yours I now see that I can actually produce quite nice photos even with this drone, a really nice added value to my buy.

      THank you,
I agree. Drone have improved enormously in the last few years as photography tools

Thanks Vic for making these videos, I have a Mini 4 Pro and have been experimenting with 12mp vs 48 mp still images. For me I have made the best results if I take in 12 Mp then process via Lightroom followed by Topaz photo AI to sharpen. The 48 MP always had artefacts and looked "grainy". Maybe in sunny weather the 48MP will be better but at the moment I am sticking to 12 MP.

      Thank you,
      very interesting!
I have similar results to yours and only use 48MP for large prints

48 on the mini 4 pro may/maybe not improved ever so slightly, but the problem is Massive amounts of noise depending upon lighting. Early, Late, Night pics are to noisy.
Unless in the middle of the day in bright conditions I find it useless.
BTW utube is pushing this vid at 480. looks like crap on my 43inch 4k monitor.

Thanks for the great videos Vic. In terms of still photography of real estate / architecture, would I be upgrading, downgrading or barely noticing the difference if I moved from an Air 2 to a Mini 4 Pro? Thanks!

For low light photography the Mini 4 Pro is a big improvement.
For other light conditions the difference is not massive

I got a Mini 4 Pro as a back-up drone and the image quality just doesn't compare to my Autel Evo II, or my old Mavic Pro 2.

I love the pictures and videos that my mini 3 Pro copies. But, the files are so large I bought another external hard drive just to store my Dji files.

I like saving my files but not on my Mac hard drive. External will hold 2 TB just for videos. I have another 2 TB hard drive just to back the Mac. @@graphguy

Yes, video files take a lot of space.
I have dozens of hard drives. Luckily they are quite cheap these days

The images I export are 96 MB. Does anyone know why? Same problem with 48 megapixels. Very poor quality. I will try with 12 MB.

Does the 4 freeze up after taking a 48mp shot? Both my mini 3 pros freeze and sometimes permanently loose connection

The 48MP mode in the Mini 4 Pro is much better implemented than in the Mini 3 Pro, although not perfect.
I have not experienced any freezing with it.
Maybe the freeze is due to a slow memory card?

I’m used to the quality of the air 2s who is excellent.Last week i received my mini 4 pro fly more combo and i was not amused when i looked at my photo’s.12 mp looks much cleaner then the 48 mp files do,bit 48 mp has more detail then 12 mp.48 are full of noise and ugly artifacts,it was so bad that even lightroom could not fix the issues i had with the noise in the pictures.

if you upscale the 12mp to 48mp and look at 100%, there is the same amount of noise in both pictures. The same in the other way.
Learn how to deal with, it is so easy to get rid of these purple artifacts with the manual CA correction in Lightroom.
