You should add a pipe to deflect the exhaust "up a bit" so that it doesn't hit your counterweight box. Also, consider adding a drain cock to the bottom of your box so that you can use water as a counter balance weight and then drain the water easier when you move your excavator.
The fans serve to draw air over the engine versus static air (no circulation). You could mount a fan and connect it to a thermostatic switch that closes sending power to the fan when a specific temp is reached, and then “open” when the temp drops below a certain temp.

Amazing ideas! Thank you 🙏🏻
A ripper, trench bucket and other tools would make more useful weight in that box. Thanks for the ideas
Good call!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hi Aaron, thanks for making the video with your tips. My question is, does the added counter weight increase the stress on the turntable?
You need to connect the hours meter to the key switch. Not the main power switch. Only for key on run time.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Connect a cooling fan to the main breaker, that way you dont forget to turn it off + you get some additional cooling.
🤔 that sounds like a great idea!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nice box, now have anyone found a way to stop the boom from jumping
Thank you

Can't you put the hour meter on a swicthed power? So f.ex. when the key is in the on position, that way you don't risk leaving it on.
Good call 🙏🏻
So what if u have to replace the motor cut the hitches off ?
I guess if the motor needed replaced (and won’t fit) I would grind them off.

@@AaronBLandscaping at 4:29 did you try counter weights if you did not use elevator counter weights
I understand these like to burn your ass during use.... A heat shield under that seat pan might be a good idea.
I heard the same thing… good idea. I will be looking into that!
Thanks for watching :)
I installed a 10 in fan on mine l. Exact same model. It's already wired for a fan. Come on when you flip the disconnect@@AaronBLandscaping
