Thank You Sir for your service 1st of all...and you videos 1 & 1.5 have been great...I purchased my unit just like this on Friday of last week...did a ton of research....your video was very informative...learned a lot...question...what oils..engine & hydrolic did you use....keep it up..great tutorial
Mr. Knight, thank you for a very thorough, humble and honest presentation. Your review has really helped me as I am in the market for a machine like this. Please keep making videos on whatever topic you desire :and don't take any naysayers comments to heart ( there should not be any). Many folks have very little experience with snow removal, basic equipment operation and servicing. What you and I might take for granted others desire to learn. In so many cases the very basic repair, maintenance and operator skills aren't being passed down. I will be waiting to see your part 2 video on your new excavator. Respectfully, Brad
I just got the Flex 18 from Typhon. It has the smaller diesel, but comes with implements and tracks that extend out. I haven’t had time to run it much. It’s pretty jerky if you jam the controls, but I think with a little practice it can be pretty smooth. My complaint is it has a cab and getting to the fuel tank to fill, and hydraulic tank to fill is difficult at best. I bought pumps to transfer the fluids.
Excellwnt video, was going to order one of these last night , then realized the left control doesn't lift up to disengage hydrolics leading me to think maybe it doesn't have true pilot controls and may only have a single stage pump. I cannot find that info anywhere online.
😂 I did a lot of research and also bought this XIX directly from Typhon. It has the same D902 Kubota that my BX 23s had. Now have 20hrs on it and Very Impressed with it 👍
I purchased the Terror XVIII model as it seemed to be the heaviest in the 2 ton range. Haven't used it yet as it is winter now, but I wanted to buy one before the huge Chinese tariffs happen in 2025. I am pleased with the fit and finish of my Terror XVIII.
Good Deal, finally someone posted something on the Typhon XIX. Was beginning to wonder whether it really existed. Thanks. Wish you woulda went over the pedals and the 3 sticks, Wondering which controls the swing boom.
It’s the same as the others. Middle is the blade, far left peddle is thumb, far right swing boom. Other two are the tracks. Since it was the same I didn’t think of it.
Hi James. Thanks for the info on these terror machines. It's hard to come by. But I'm inverted in your ebay transaction. I received an offer on an XIX but I am a little leary on extra fees, etc. Could you please Elaborate on that. Lastly, it's this a two speed machine? Or a single very slow drive speed. Thanksa million.
I would like to see more usage because I am in the market and I am annoyed that there is no typhon terror info that is useful. The Typhons seem to be the cheapest diesels out there. I really want to know if the controls are jerky. Operators can help but half most of the problem is hardware. Only thing indont like is the boom cylinder if still in front. At least it has a guard. I think 2 ton and below are 25mm pins so please get back to us on that quickly.
Congrats on the excavator. Are you aware of any other meaningful differences between the XVIII and the XIX than what you mentioned here (engine model, track width, and the overall weight)? The other question I'd have is how you'd go about chaining this thing down to a trailer? Most of the "name brands" seem to have dedicated hooks where it's easy to get a chain on them; but none of the Chinese excavators I've looked at seem to have anything like that.
This model and the others don’t have great tie downs. I improvise and use the frame. As for differences is the chassis but I think that’s obvious. I will say battery access on the VXIII has a door where the XIX doesn’t.

Great video imo. Little chatty but well spoken and informative. Thanks. I'm not in the market, but any info on these helps others.
Great Video of your EBAY purchasing experience. Obviously its winter time so will have to wait for the actual demo :-)

I willbe very interested in seeing what this can pick up. I am looking at these exact machines. I am wanting to move logs around.
Thank you and yes I want part 2

How was it unloaded at your house? Did they do it or you?
I drive it off the trailer. Wasn’t excited about that because I’m not ready for that kind of operation 😅 yet.
@@jamesknight7105 Exactly why I ask. Never driven one, driving one off a trailer is not exactly how I want to die.
Just a suggestion: less face time and a lot more shots of what you are talking about.
Wait on mine
for next time, more video of the excavator, less of you, thanks
Watched it back and agree :-)
