Well *THAT* was pretty intense! Honestly have not heard of these guys before, and when I saw 'boy bands' in the title, I almost didn't click on it. I didn't realize they were going to cover everything from Frankie Valle and the 4 Seasons, and The beach Boys, all the way up to Back Street Boys and Nsync. Definitely going to have to check out their channel! Great reaction DGS, you were having waaay too much fun watching this!🤣😍👍

The video you just watched took the guys 6 months. Yes, I said the guys, for most of the videos that are on their channel are things they do themselves. There are some that get really elaborate and they may have to bring in help (especially when it comes to making the video) but the arrangement and video idea are always theirs.
This video has a little history to it as this was originally a Patreon goal project (any song to get the VP treatment). Boy Bands won the vote and the guys (mostly bass man Geoff) got started on the arrangement. Some of us think they have been trying to get a little revenge as they keep giving us emotional whiplash on every song since. They weren’t the biggest fans of this idea.
You will LOVE their skit Road Trip it’s just so so funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love this video. VoicePlay is an amazing group. They were on the Sing Off competition the same year as Home Free in a slightly different configuration...they had a woman named Honey with them and one different guy (clearly I don’t know as much about them as Home Free). They didn’t do as well in the competition as I thought they should have...5th or 6th I think. Earl, the big guy with the red beard, is their high tenor and has a very distinctive voice. Their bass is Geoff Castellucci and he’s amazing...in the same league as Tim Foust of Home Free. Geoff did the arrangement of Elvira that Home Free sings with the Oak Ridge Boys (I don’t think you’ve reacted to that one yet...it’s a good one if you like bass). The bald guy is Elie. The group is from Orlando and I think some or all of them work at one of the theme parks (Sea World?). Another really good VP video is their Moana Medley feat. Rachel Potter. I also love their Cheerleader video. This is a group of fun guys who are great singers that aren’t afraid to make fun of themselves (like in this video where they do Beyoncé Single Ladies dance moves to Walk like a Man...cracks me up every time!) Great reaction!
Susan Horn The different guy is J (baritone). He joined back in 2018 (officially) when Tony retired. The other guy you didn’t name was the beatboxer Layne. (Putting this here more to complete the list of names).

It's so fun watching you react to this I had to do it again! On one of their videos I once made a comment (which got a heart from them) saying Voiceplay videos are like tattoos and potato chips...just one is never enough! Hmmm, now I want some chips...and I WILL be getting another tattoo, when things calm down...it's April 2020, so it may be a while...

Another a capella group group in Vocal Point, one of their best songd is "I can go the distance" I think is the title, anyhow it'sthe song from Hercules.
Another group from the Sing off is "the Filharmonics" they did a song with Home Free on the sing off. Try "Animal", "Cheerleader", "All of Me" they are more of a 90's boy band

In my opinion the ranking in A Capella goes like this: HomeFree; Pentatonix; VoicePlay; and Voctave. They are all good but I think HomeFree is by far superior with the many different varied harmonies that Pentatonix lost when Avi Kaplan left the group. I really like all these groups but, for my money, the many genres that HomeFree covers breaks the mold. VoicePlay are great in what they do. Voctave are masters at what they do. You have to give a lot of credit to Pentatonix (w/Avi) for breathing new life into a genre that was sadly turning into barbershop music and comedy. Pentatonix won "The Sing Off" and blew people away. Avi Kaplan and Kevin O brought bottom into A Capella music and woke people up. The first 3 years they were amazing and put out marvelous music. Sadly when Avi left part of the soul of the group left. NO matter how good a bass the new guy is he cannot fill Avi's shoes with the layers that Avi filled effortlessly. Then Home Free showed up on The Sing Off and there was no comparison. Tim's REAL bass, (like Avi's) gave the groove a bottom end that thumped. Now with Chance, they switch off seamlessly with the ability to Tim to go high and Chance to go low. There music is so varied but their blends are perfection.
I appreciate them but Home Free is still the best for so many reasons. One reason is that they have 5 voices whereas Home Free has 4 voices with 1 beat boxer. Home Free is also easier on the eyes because Home Free guys are all the same height. Also, for a silly reason Home Free has better hair aka no bald guys and Tim Foust is a better bass.
