    What's the best wireless rain sensor to use with a Rachio irrigation controller?

      Hey buddy! For some reason this comment was held for review and we missed it. The Hunter Wireless Rain Clik is great because it has a Quick Response shutdown which is faster than more other rain sensors. WR-CLIK. sprinklersupplystore.com/products/hunter-wrclik-wireless-rain-sensor

    I have an old school Toro XF-416 controller using Toro XP-300 stream rotors and 570Z spray heads. Thank goodness you guys carry old school Toro valves! Got my garden section up and running before it starts heating up here in Texas.

    My irrigation consist of an old school commercial Toro XF-416 controller using a variety of Toro XP-300 stream rotors, Voyager II and 570Z spray heads. What spray heads would you suggest using to save water and at the same time get good coverage on the large general areas? I have 6 zones with a total of 72 spray heads.

      Wow, that system has put in its time, great to know it’s still working! Keep the 570 spray heads, and switch the nozzles to Hunter MP Rotators (Toro version). The XP-300 are probably fine, unless you don’t like them, or they are leaking, etc. If so, switch those to MP Rotators as well, which means you’ll need to replace the whole sprinkler.

      @@Andy_Humphrey Thanks i will definitely try the Hunter MP rotators. I will check them out on your website.

    About to have an irrigation system installed from scratch at our home where there hasn’t been any previously. In your opinion what’s the best wifi smartphone/app enabled controller on the market ?

      Excellent question. The B-hyve controller by Orbit/Hydro-Rain is excellent. We like it because there is a user interface on the control box which is helpful for Irrigation Contractors that may be working on your system (a lot of the pros are not up on smart controllers). The app is extremely user friendly and the response/reaction speed is essentially instant.
      Rachio is also very user friendly and popular with homeowners, and Hydrawise is probably the most popular with contractors because it is sold through the trade channel, but not as user friendly for homeowners.

    what sensor do you recommend for the rain-bird esp-me w/wifi adapter?

    • @Andy_Humphrey
      @Andy_Humphrey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you like Rain Bird, stick to a Rain Bird sensor. Otherwise, any wireless rain sensor is compatible with that controller.

    Do the rain sensors measure amount of water per week?
    Also where did you get that’s epic sports coat?

    • @Andy_Humphrey
      @Andy_Humphrey  ปีที่แล้ว

      @BrandonStarnes1 thanks! I got it years ago at www.opposuits.com/
      Rain sensors are just simple on/off switch devices. They can be set to switch off at different volume amounts, but can’t actually measure anything.
      The Tempest WeatherFlow is a slick station that can be connected to some controllers. weatherflow.com/tempest-home-weather-system/

    Do the rain sensors have an option where if they do sense that it had rained there will be automatically implemented a rain delay for the next 24 hours?

    • @Andy_Humphrey
      @Andy_Humphrey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome question. I believe that Rain Bird is the only company that has a sensor with this capability. The Rain Bird WR2FC-48 allows for up to 48hr delay after the sensor drys out. sprinklersupplystore.com/products/rain-bird-wr2fc-48-rain-sensor-wireless-with-48-hour-delay

    Why my sprinklers after shutting off still leaking

    • @Andy_Humphrey
      @Andy_Humphrey  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, happy to help. Is it one sprinkler, a few sprinklers, or is every sprinkler leaking after the system turns off?

    • @Dualdo69
      @Dualdo69 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Andy_Humphrey yes is every sprinkler leaking after the system turn off

      This is likely caused by the valve not closing all of the way. I would recommend that you remove the top of the valve, and clean everything out; there is probably dirt of debris build up and the diaphragm is not closing all of the way.
