Lawn is looking great! I love Clematis too! I have a Gen1 Rachio and I have no idea how I could live without it. But that's because I use my irrigation system like it's the water fountain show at the Bellagio. At sunset, I smoke a cigar and turn them on and off during - all from the comfort of my smart phone.

Great video. Word to the wise- if you’re installing this system with a iPhone 11 it won’t work. Rather, you’ll have to set it up with an older device or a laptop on the same WiFi network. Spent an hour troubleshooting mine tonight and once I switched to an older device it worked just as easily as in this video.

Thank you Andy, question, if i set up on iPhone 10 and log in later on an iPhone 11 do you know if it will work?

I’ll tell you I got the 2nd gen. It’s worth it. The fact that it can delay your sprinkler when it’s too windy and weather intelligence is great. And the install is super easy. Just match the wires.

Great video! I learned about your channel through The Lawn Care Nut. The two of you make these tasks simplified which, in turn, makes newbies like myself dominate the neighborhood. My neighbors always stop me in the yard while working and ask me my secret. I send them straight to your channels each time. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for the informative help. This would be a great addition to my program I have implemented on my property. I wanted to take a shot at the big prize! Thank you for the opportunity in doing so!

My husband is in the process of installing a system but he purchased a simple/regular programmer ( not smart) and of course we would not qualify to be on your list of possible winners since we moved to the Azores but love your well explained review of this system.

That is a good looking lawn. The smart irrigation control that takes into account actual rain is so smart. In Florida this would be great to take account for our heavy rain in the summer and dry winter

First thing first your inputs and comparison of two awesome Rachio generation are really helpful. Also, it helped me because I am from New Jersey near Freehold so pretty much same weather we share. Please keep doing this kind of knowledgeable video which helps people out there. Really appreciate your views about the product and how it is helping everyone. Simply perfect.

So...just started my research on the Rachio and other smart sprinkler controllers. I have yet to pull the trigger on one, but watching your videos and reviews on the Racho, I think i'm SOLD!! We are currently transitioning from a rental home to a house we just purchased. At first look, the sprinkler controller I have now, is too complicated for me! I'm a simple man and I love my technology. Having a Rachio would save me so much headache and time, you wouldn't believe. Hope this comment finds you and I am the lucky one to be able to receive such an awesome device. Keep on making these awesome videos....subscribed AND clicked the bell icon.

I was an early remote control adopter and bought an Irrigation Caddy a couple years ago and the Rachio is by far a major improvement. I would love to swap mine out for a Rachio and promote it with all of my friends! I'm in IT and love Smart Home tech but I'm on the fence about it but will definitely buy one for my mother.

Wow, I'm really happy I viewed your video. I had an underground break in my sprinkler system in my back yard and had to have that fixed. During that repair I discovered I could also relieve myself of having 2 different controllers and systems (1 in the front yard the other in the back - I'm the NOT the original house owner!). So, now that that is behind me I want to move on to a SMART watering system and the RACHIO seems to have everything I could dream of. I'm also seriously considering getting the waterflow meter as well. Thanks for the video and insight!

Moved from Michigan to NC and the previous owners didn't use the irrigation system in over 15 years. I was able to get it up and running but with a combination of clay, south facing lawn, and steep slope, I have been very challenged with the appropriate amount of water. Not to mention, we get punished for using too much water. Our water bill easily hits $200/month when watering. I would love to see how much this type of system can actually reduce my bill.

I use the Rachio 2 and live in the AZ desert. Water is a precious commodity and a smart watering system is a must. This summer we have already had more than 100 days of over 100 degrees. I would love to try the Rachio 3 with enhanced weather and flow meter. Our local utility provides a rebate for using a smart watering system.

My old “dumb” irrigation controller’s LCD panel died this spring, so I hopped on TH-cam for a some extensive research on smart controller options. Your review was the most fun to watch. I loved the random clips spliced in. The clips were funny and seldom used so as not to detract from the purpose of the review. I also liked that you left the moments with the bird (beginning) and yellowjacket (mid); again fun and real.

Great video. Couldn't decide between the Gen 2 or Gen 3. You explained it well and the deciding feature is the weather feature in the Gen3 narrowing the monitoring to within 36' of the unit. We're in Myrtle Beach, SC and weather reports constantly forecast rain. It will rain over the shore & all around us but not where we are. Water bills are the only cost we've found expensive since moving here 2 years ago. They charge for usage and more for waste water. Since they can't determine irrigation doesn't return to the sewers we get charged for the full usage both ways. Water bills have exceeded $300/month. The Rachio 3 will pay for itself in less than a year! Thanks.

Nyce review. Still trying to figure out if I should go with the 2 or the 3. This video was helpful.

Good and very informative video. I am researching smart controllers for my sprinklers and found your review. I am now decided to get the Rachio 3.
I do want to say that you have good on-camera skills, but want to laud your outstanding video production skills.

An awesome product. Love the wireless flow meter that works with the product. Great competitive price point in relation to other flow meters too. Love it!

I had almost pulled the trigger on Gen 2 a month and a half ago before I learnt Gen 3 was coming. Going to buy it anyway but would be nice to win it :D

Holy cow this is the coolest sprinkler controller that I have seen. It would be super awesome to win this and replace my old mechanical timer that I have currently.

HandyDadTV is great! Very relaxed way of telling what to do and not complicated. I have a smart controller now with similar features, however, the customer support is strictly email and the turnaround time is significant because it is in a foreign country where it's already tomorrow. I'm seriously considering the Rachio Gen 3 for my 12 zone system which covers a half acre with many beds and a vegetable garden. Thanks for all the good info.
