I'll go for more details on stacking. Also more on setting up and arranging layers. I love these videos.

So what your saying ( I’m watching on my iPhone and it’s tough to tell) the Line layer or copy you made is transparent for the materials to show through from materials layer....Is that correct? I see this being used in a remodel, as built as just a simple line drawing, and new addition for instance can be full detail with materials showing. If I’m reading this correctly.

Thanks. Can you please leave a link to the model you are using so we try what you are teaching us?

Very informative. Please provide more Layout instructional vids. I'm particularly interested in using LO to develop architectural ConDocs for residential and small scale commercial projects.

I see this being very useful in remodeling, existing vs new stacked on separate layers. One thing that would be a nice addition to viewports, if we could treat them as an editable polyline. For instance, instead of just a rectangle we could break a side of the viewport and had the capability to say follow the side of a house on layer below so an addition added on would be on the upper layer. Hence existing on one layer and new on another layer. Similar to what we can do in Chief Architect Premier.

Thanks Aaron, please go further into what can be accomplished using stacked viewports, show more variations, and maybe stack 3 viewports?

Yes I agree that we need more stacking videos using different models and registering them so they line up in layout. Think house, then lot, landscape, utilities, property lines etc

Nice basic video on stacking Viewports, but can you go into some of the more complex examples of what can be done, like some of the stuff Nick Sonders is able to achieve?

I used to do something similar in Photoshop to make color renderings. I didn't know you could do that with Sketch-Up/Layout.

Hi Aaron, this was very useful, can you please add to this by including masking over the top to show only parts of the viewport below. Thanks again for all your very helpful tutorials

Very inspiring, easy to understand - and makes my final drawings quite something different and nice compared to what I can seve from SU - more like this please: the possibilities with-in all the nook and crannies of LO.
Whish for X-mas: rounded corners on fill, please?

how about making videos on remodeling. Setting up SketchUp to existing floorplan and then new remodeled floor plan and then sending them to Layout and using multiple viewports. :)
