  • LayOut can help you create some amazing looking drawings, but is there a way to make the process of bringing model data from SketchUp into LayOut faster and more efficient? I am so glad we asked, because that is exactly what Tyson is showing in this video! Bask in the glory of SketchUp Scenes in LayOut!

I dont really follow these guidelines. In fact, for a plan view I will click into the viewport just to brake the connection to the camera position saved to the scene. But I never Reset the viewport, unless I want to change the scope of what's being shown. That way I can be sure the scene ALWAYS stays the same, even if updating the scene in sketchup have it saved with a different panel /zoom level or position on screen . If I reset the viewport by mistake I can just undo. But if the scene in sketchup is updated with a different camera setting, there's no going back. So break free from the camera position of the scene, is my motto.

As always thank you for a great presentation on working in SU and LO . This was strictly a what not to do video ? I can appreciate that. Is there any useful purpose at all of changing the view in the layout view ? This orbiting function seems to be a trap to lure you into a problem.🐒

It's useful for a "quick and dirty" solution (1:41). However, you could start to run into undesired outcomes once your documents get more complex.
