I own an 1989 caprice I purchased 5 years ago. I’m 42 and my grandparents had two and I needed one. No regrets. Rides like a cloud. Grew up in better times.
Man, this old Town Car is so classy looking. Too bad cars these days don't have character like cars from this era. I wish I had the extra money to get this ride. Nice review ✌️👌
Anthony,my dad owned 3 of these vintage Town Cars for his Limousine service back in the 80s.Those hubcaps were locking,so they would never fall off. Those cars were great. I miss my Dad.Mike the Greek
I can bet that there are other old School Brothas besides myself who are enjoying how much you take us right back down memory lane . . . That aftermarket head unit just throws a wrench in the old classic originality of this car but I loved it 👌🏿
My Mother had an 1989 from new - great car never a problem with it at all (traded for a new 1994 at 93K miles). It was a barge to drive but road excellent and never a problem with car. The only thing I did not like was it was so big that it did not stop very quickly.
You didn't steer these things as much as navigate them. Point that glorious hood ornament at some point on the horizon, and steady as she goes. This is a gem.
My older brother had a 1989 Lincoln town car midnight blue dark blue interior i loved that car i wish i had the money to buy that one it looks just like my brothers car
The Lincolns were a little more popular. Learned how to drive in a ‘84 Sig Series with a similar spec (Twilight blue, velour interior, but it had the wire wheels, moonroof, digital dash) and took a triple black leather interior ‘89 Sig Series to prom. You’re a little weird for liking the hubcaps like that lol. Both of my dad’s had the aluminum wire wheels and I took great care to polish every single spoke by hand once a year. Loved seeing those things sparkle in the sun when she got pulled out of the garage.
Anthony job well done once again....love that shade of blue....one thing though....in 1990 they were still using the 5.0 V8...1991 the 4.6 V8 was standard equipment.
Omg Anthony....I had this exact same car back in the day! Same color and same interior! Seeing this video brought back a lot of memories!!! Would LOVE to purchase this one but just can't afford it right now!!! Thanks for the memory trip!
I had an 89 Mark VII LSC for 16 years. One of the BEST cars I have ever owned. Bought her with 92k miles, sold her with 219,000 and had never had to open the engine. I KICK myself daily… but life had other ideas. Goof find, Anthony.
@paulgozzo9178 Thanks for your reply. I'm sure you and Tony may figure something out. It's horrible what happened. Tony and Adam Wade are among my favorite TH-camrs. I'll be sure to subscribe to your channel as well. I'm from Saskatchewan 🇨🇦
Well, they are reliable, but I certainly wouldn't say any 80s Town Car is anywhere close to being the "most reliable car ever built". The 302 is solid but the AOD is known to have failures past 100k miles and sometimes under that. They also aren't particularly well rust-proofed and the suspensions and steering tend to eat up wear items more than most cars.
They are quite reliable. These cars are known to be upwards of 300K miles. The Crown Victorias of course are the same. That’s why they were preferred for cabs and police cruisers. In the 1980’s Dearborn Michigans police force, the city where Ford World Headquarters was, had all Lincoln Town Cars for their police cruisers. It was a little strange seeing a Town Car decked out in police livery with blue and red lights on top cruising through Fairlane Mall.
Yeah im still driving a 1988 Town car Cartier Daily, it been on the Road the Entire 35 years, original engine and transmission, All fluids changed on a regular basis, car is washed once a week or more, no rust, still looks like new, everything work's , has 256,000 miles an counting. its never broken down yet. or been towed.
My dad had an 88 like this. 510k miles on the engine when a ring landing burned away finally. One transmission change in all that time. Great cars. Wish Ford made prettier wire hubcaps though. Those are fugly! Love the dark blue too.
That dark blue looks good on that Lincoln Town Car. I honestly could have seen my paternal grandparents driving something like this, but they had a Cadillac (think it was a Fleetwood but I honestly can't remember the actual model of Cadillac they had).
My father had an 89 Town Car Signature Series. I took my driving test in that car it was a gorgeous car. Then my father bought the new body style the 1990 befor that my father had a El Dorado and he switched to lincoln.
Oh my! I had 2 of these. One 1986 Signature series baby blue with navy velour interior and the other a 1988 was a Cartier, two-tone champagne /brown with dove grey leather interior and sunroof, almost mint condition. People used to pull up next to me and just stare with their mouths hanging open lol back in 2002. Both fantastic cars. Best riding cars I ever owned. I wish I had a Town Car again 😢
Ow wow I wish I could get a hold of one of them,in 96' I had an 85' same color with a rag top I didn't enjoy it like I wanted,so now I'm just ecstatic about towncars especially the late 80s version's and your the one I'd buy one from, you show true enthusiasm and Respect for luxury cars and your verymeticulous
Hi Tony, Your feature car today is truly a sister car to my 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition which is painted in the same Twilight Blue Metallic. Mine has the full cloth carriage ( Dark Blue ) roof with all exterior trim in Gold anodized including trunk lid mounted luggage rack. Your Lincoln is absolutely stunning and an incredible find. As an aside perhaps you are aware of a fellow TH-camr Tony's Car Care whose parents were in a roll over accident yesterday in their 1989 Lincoln Town Car. Fortunately his parents were able to exit the vehicle on their own ( Mother 78, Father 80 Yrs. ) but the car is totaled. They were sideswiped by a small Mitsubishi at a high speed. Please reach out to them as they are looking for another 1989 Lincoln. Thanks Tony for another great video!
Ahh, an analog clock I love it. I’m to the point where I will never by another new car again and nothing newer than 2004 I’ll just buy 80’s and 90’s low mileage originals and drive them like I bought a new one.
My grandparents had an ‘89 for many years and my great-grandparents had one for a short time but they didn’t keep it long and went back to their Olds Cutlasses. I had those Matchbox Town Cars as well, I think I had a white one and maroon one! My Mercury Sable wagon was one of my favorites too. I also had a larger limousine of this vintage, can’t remember the brand. My grandma that had the ‘89 Town Car got them for me for Christmas one year in the early 90’s.
I was in the limo business in the 80s and these town cars were the best. The only problems we had were rear axles going bad due to the added weight of more passengers. That 5.0 was a bit clunky but still much better than the Cadis of the day.
I honestly don't know how anyone can complain about the wire wheel covers. I think they look great. Anthony, you have to stop referring to these as hubcaps. Hubcaps cover the center of the rim, whereas wheel covers cover the entire rim.
My Dad used to put his Chrysler Wire Wheel Covers in the Dish Washer once every six months to keep them sparkling. I would have to wax them after he took them out of the dishwasher.
Beautiful job Anthony and I agree on the wire hubcaps - my grandfather's 87 Grand Marquis I told you about had those caps and I always loved them. The wire wheels are cool too but seems like the caps hold up better on top of looking sharp. Loving the 94. Have a great weekend!
i want to use this video to vent a dellema i seem to be in about buying a car and i fear it will only get worse, currently i drive a 2016 honda civic , i bought it in 2021 as a solution to needing a way to drive 45 minutes each way to work, relax im a trucker so i only drove there once a week and home once a week, eventually i moved about half a mile from my truck, but my problem and i guess i solved it at least for now is i dont know what car i want to replace it with, everything that i like is 50k or more and the cheaper ones are almost like electric golf carts, so ive decided to drive this honda basicly until shit hits the fan, but i kinda got my eye out and specialty motor cars gets my juices flowin , these are the cars i really want
A royal dark blue like this color is definitely a chart topping favor for me. What a beautifully preserved car. Definitely somebody had a lot of pride and ownership to keep a car that nice for so long. One of my good friends has an 88 Town Car with that interior. I would almost argue. It’s a bit more quiet and a bit more comfortable than the leather interior. Even at distance you can tell that this car is a Lincoln. No confusion with another brand. The 88 and 89 town cars are some of the most robust reliable cars Lincoln ever made. Once they introduced multi fuel injection for 86 and subsequently putting in a double roller timing chain without nylon gears for 1988 those cars would easily do 300,000 or 400,000 miles without a worry. The mileage on this car it’s like buying a one year old 89 Town Car certified preowned. What a deal for 16 995. Right colors. Phenomenal condition. Nicely serviced. Turnkey ready to go.
I found a TH-cam channel where the older parents only drive 1st Gen Town Cars, and ended up finding two 1989 TCs both with very low mileage, and bought both of them! LOL Crazy to think that many are still out there
I have owned several 89 Towncars and regret selling them. I would love to own another but I don't have the ability to be a good stuard to one this nice. 🤤
My dad had one just like this, blue exterior and interior with the velour seats. It was a taxi with 800k kilometers, he went to take it to scrap and the car caught on fire at the yard. Insurance gave him a lot more than scrap offered haha.
I was six years old in 1989 and my goodness I saw these everywhere and I always wanted my parents to buy one, but they just weren’t a fan of big cars cause they sucked up so much gas but I’m just waiting for my day to come to find one of these no matter how old it is And park on my driveway and use it as a collectors item. It’s just too beautiful and I wouldn’t wanna put stress on it. I’m currently 41 right now but man, where did the time go? This is a time, capsule sir
Anthony, what a beauty! Except for plush interior (which I prefer to leather) this is a duplicate for my former 89 Signature Series. That bow on the glove box seems typical. My 89 gave me 24mpg highway. One of my all time favorites. Love my current 2OO7 Signature Limited, but this is a rare find. LINCOLN, what a Luxury car should be and once was! YOU are right about problematic sound system. Don't need a second car, BUT thinking 🤔
Hi Anthony! You are amazing. You and your garage are among the few reasons why i would visit USA . I wish one day to save enough to buy one of this collection cars from you. I almost have no impression for the brand new cars nowadays but cars you presented make me so much emotional.
What an era of fine American luxury cars. I have an aunt that had a 1989 Sedan DeVille her 1st cousin had a 89 Town Car, I can remember me and my cousins debating which one had the better looking car when we had family gatherings lol Sidenote- they both moved on to the German brands in the 2000s
I've had several of these cars, some w/cabriolet tops-beautiful cars indeed! The last one I had was red and fully loaded, but for some reason that engine was quite sluggish. But what a beauty! I hit a deer in Ga.and my mechanic told me parts are hard to find (this was in '18), and told me to sell it. I regrettably did, and haven't had one since.
She's stunning! I agree with you Anthony. I've always had a soft spot for these wire hubcaps on full sized FoMoCo full sized cars. Low-Riders discovered that the center caps on the aluminum wire wheels fit the center hub on Tru-Classic/Tru-Ray wheels perfectly. You'll see the center caps on a lot of low Mark V and VI lowriders.
Maybe this isn’t the place to admit this, but years ago I had a business attempting to sell office chairs built out of car seats. I found a car nearly identical to this in a pick-a-part in what seemed like drive in condition and decided I wanted to expand into sofas. I tore that poor car apart because of busted door locks, but pulled both front and rear seats: this was in 2010. Never built the sofas for my business (which died not long after- everyone thought they were cool but nobody wanted to pay for them). Yesterday, literally, I finally put the final touches on assembling the front pair into a sofa, a process that took about two years for reasons I won’t go into (it’s not actually difficult). The rear seat got damaged in storage, unfortunately.
Great vehicle! Had two of them, you could turn the steering wheel with your pinky finger❤ Good ol' R12 freon, ICE cold🥶 What a luxury car should be! I miss that slogan
This car is flawless & classic!! I've owned 5 town Cars in my time. I rode on Lincoln limos for 33 years. Kenny Nash DESIGNER COUNTRY song 🎵 out now 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great review Anthony Beautiful car. I got married in 1988 and part of our honeymoon package was an ‘88 town car rental. I took so many pictures with that car cause I could never afford to buy one.
The older I get, the more I miss the 80's and 90's from life itself to these beautiful machines. Still saving to adopt one of these cream puffs!
I own an 1989 caprice I purchased 5 years ago. I’m 42 and my grandparents had two and I needed one. No regrets. Rides like a cloud. Grew up in better times.
I agree with you about that. That was some of the most beautiful cars ever put out
Man, this old Town Car is so classy looking. Too bad cars these days don't have character like cars from this era. I wish I had the extra money to get this ride. Nice review ✌️👌
1989 is my favorite!!! Oh please mega millions please come to me tonight so I can give Anthony a call and a check Saturday morning!!!!
Love it Anthony, my Uncle had one, retired WW2 D-Day veteran his was dark metallic gray, I loved him and his Lincoln! 😊
Anthony,my dad owned 3 of these vintage Town Cars for his Limousine service back in the 80s.Those hubcaps were locking,so they would never fall off. Those cars were great. I miss my Dad.Mike the Greek
This was my dream car when I was in high school. This Town Car just screams class and money to me.
Thank God for men like you and your dad. Family is everything when it comes to Lincoln and Cadillac
Thank you Marcus that is so true “family is everything” Papa 🐻
These cars are like riding on a magic carpet I love this car I've had Cadillacs all my life but I've always loved this style Lincoln😊
In 88, I had a rental Town Car in San Francisco. Driving up a steep hill, I felt like the pilot of a 747 taking off! Love that block long hood!
Another winner! I love it. That navy blue is such a nice alternative to the typical black. Very sophisticated.👍
She's absolutely gorgeous!! Love the color scheme.
I can bet that there are other old School Brothas besides myself who are enjoying how much you take us right back down memory lane . . .
That aftermarket head unit just throws a wrench in the old classic originality of this car but I loved it 👌🏿

One of the nicest riding vehicles ever. Really a great car. Had an 1989 just like this for ten years.
I am insanely jealous right now. I want that car.
Anthony job well done once again....love that shade of blue....one thing though....in 1990 they were still using the 5.0 V8...1991 the 4.6 V8 was standard equipment.
Anthony all your vehicles are top-notch inside And outside check out rolling museums Cadillacs and Lincolns right up your alley
Omg Anthony....I had this exact same car back in the day! Same color and same interior! Seeing this video brought back a lot of memories!!! Would LOVE to purchase this one but just can't afford it right now!!! Thanks for the memory trip!
Anthony, it’s refreshing to see a nice car of this vintage after seeing the look alike cars of today.
I had an 89 Mark VII LSC for 16 years. One of the BEST cars I have ever owned. Bought her with 92k miles, sold her with 219,000 and had never had to open the engine. I KICK myself daily… but life had other ideas. Goof find, Anthony.
Wow! What a knockout. What a great car to take a long trip in.
Hey Anthony and Papa bear love the video and I love those years of those Lincoln town cars to 89s the 90s are the best cars built to me👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
Thank you Steven. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
I like the wheels. We had one in Gray and Silver with those wheels. That car was bullet proof.
Anthony, Tony at Tonys Car Care needs one of these. His parents just totaled theirs. They are ok.
Hello Mark yes I watched the video today. Glad to hear that they are ok. Papa 🐻

The roof of this car is the cabriolet style, which is a unique look.
i read somewhere that 1988 towncar was most reliable car ever built , im sure 1989 is pretty good too,

This car is freaking beautiful!!
Keep the wir hub caps perfect! And, true to he period, I remember they were all the rage in the mid to late '80s ❤
AWESOME!!!! another great looking Town Car...thanks Anthony!
Crazy inexpensive for a fully serviced 15,000 mile luxury cruiser! Did it again Anthony!
Oh my! I had 2 of these. One 1986 Signature series baby blue with navy velour interior and the other a 1988 was a Cartier, two-tone champagne /brown with dove grey leather interior and sunroof, almost mint condition. *Beautiful Blue Town Car* !! *LOVE this velour interior* !! *Great job Papa Bear and Anthony* !! #SpecialtyMotorCars 🇺🇸
Thank you Susan your right it is a BEAUTIFUL CAR built to last with under 15,000 miles. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
Oh wow she's beautiful!
I used to LOVE these in the 80s when I was little boy. The 80s design is my absolute favorite
It’s big. It’s bad. It’s unapologetic. It’s bold. It’s brash. INTRODUCING THE LINCOLN TOWN CAR!!!!
Will always be a classic. Beautiful!!
Extremely undervalued. Should easily sell for $346K
Aw man I just came from a video of a totaled white 1989 Town Car. This makes me feel better seeing this black one in good condition.
th-cam.com/video/WdgFi6cj2lw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gRxdlYwTFWuL_A-h
It's dark blue. 😮
Tony’s Car Care video about his parents car.

Yeah. TH-cam deleted my comment of the link. I tried referring him to here if he ever wanted a replacement but it is out of budget.
Its dark blue not black
I’m so jealous of whoever gets this car! 😫😫. I love cruising in these and looking down that massive hood. Love the sound of the turn signals too!
Hi Tony, Your feature car today is truly a sister car to my 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition which is painted in the same Twilight Blue Metallic. the cars came with optional real wire wheels, which do look light years better than these cheap base model hubcaps

She is a BEAUTY Anthony and Papa. So REGAL. Love it. :) Cant wait to see the Buick LeSabre you guys have. Thanks.....
Thank you John. Papa 🐻 & Anthony
My aunt had this exact car but in black on black. This is the trim I love to own! Great video as always!
Great Lincoln. It shouldn't be called a car, rather an automobile. I too dig the velore. The back end of the 89 is classy, esp in navy.
Beautiful car, Tony! I think I would have kept this one and sold the the white one.
Tony from Tony’s Car Care needs this one for his mom and dad!
gorgeous automobile--- and the hub caps look great! This level of elegance just can't be had in a new automobile today!
Such a beautiful Lincoln love the color absolutely gorgeous
This is a "Carriage Trade" kind of Lincoln. Beautiful, love it.

I love the Tilt steering but not tilt columns
Nice, that's 10 grand from when they were new. Beauty cars.
I found a TH-cam channel where the older parents only drive 1st Gen Town Cars, and ended up finding two 1989 TCs both with very low mileage, and bought both of them! LOL
Crazy to think that many are still out there
I have owned several 89 Towncars and regret selling them. I would love to own another but I don't have the ability to be a good stuard to one this nice. 🤤
Really love that 89 towncar classy car love the color and interior if i had the money i buy
Another sweet ride! I do usually prefer wheels over the hubcaps, but I have to say those hubcaps look nice....
Absolutely amazing. I would give my eye teeth! This was a copy of my grandmothers last car!!♥️
My dad had one just like this, blue exterior and interior with the velour seats. It was a taxi with 800k kilometers, he went to take it to scrap and the car caught on fire at the yard. Insurance gave him a lot more than scrap offered haha.
Absolutely beautiful...wish it had the digital dash I'd be on my way to buy it
I was six years old in 1989 and my goodness I saw these everywhere and I always wanted my parents to buy one, but they just weren’t a fan of big cars cause they sucked up so much gas but I’m just waiting for my day to come to find one of these no matter how old it is And park on my driveway and use it as a collectors item. There's nothing wrong with that beauty especially for the age of the car,I'd jump over 10 new cars to drive that 89' towncar
27:17 Yep, I am a fan of velour. I prefer it over leather. It is softer and feels more comfortable in extreme heat and cold.

I was never that crazy about this generation of Town Car, but I still have to respect it for what came later.
Anthony car looks great,I don't think you will find another like that again !
One of the best handling Lincolns was my 87...I drove 2- 79s, 87, 97 and 2005. They were so easy to maneuver and had great power.
Hello Anthony that is a beautiful car one of the bosses owned that not a grandmother thank you for the video I loved it ken

I was 5 in 89 and my grandfather had an 89 but in black he would travel with all the time from Long Island to Florida in the winters.
😮 better late then never
THose seats look so comfy.
I still have those matchbox cars! Same one as you and a white one!! Awesome awesome 89 here. Tempting
This backseat has probably never been sat in. This is one flawless 89 town car.
Last year for the Chiseled edition!
Had one of these...great one.
Jesus, where do you find these absolute treasures? Beautiful 😍❤️
Great vehicle! Had two of them, you could turn the steering wheel with your pinky finger❤
Good ol' R12 freon, ICE cold🥶
What a luxury car should be! I miss that slogan
This car is flawless & classic!! I've owned 5 town Cars in my time. I rode on Lincoln limos for 33 years. Kenny Nash DESIGNER COUNTRY song 🎵 out now 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful! I love the velour. It’s more comfortable in my opinion. Plus like you said, less maintenance/wear than leather.
Absolutely gorgeous Town Car!
I’m also a huge fan of the hubcaps.

Great review Anthony
Beautiful car.
I got married in 1988 and part of our honeymoon package was an ‘88 town car rental. I took so many pictures with that car cause I could never afford to buy one.
