Caution:There will be fuel pressure in line. To bleed it off, remove fuel pump relay in the fuse box located in engine compartment. Start motor first, then remove relay ...motor will shut off by itself when fuel pressure is gone

Also, these are known to leak fuel. Mine is an '04 and leaks intermittently. I can occasionally smell fuel and after checking under the hood, found a slight leak at this regulator. I've seen videos of these TB's and Envoys burning up so, new regulator inbound.

Did not have to makeup any vacuum fittings for that. On the intake plenum where vacuum line connects there is a 1/2in plastic nipple that the vacuum line connects to. Also a good indicator of needing replacement is gas will bypass the valve inside and get into the intake plenum mine was like that.

This is also what mine is doing, I removed the vacuum line and it smelled like gas

Would a bad fuel pressure regulator cause the engine not to run?

Most likely you have a bad fuel pump if it won't run at all

Hello, why did you have to replace this regulator? We’re you getting a Check Engine Light showing PO172 or PO175 for a rich running condition?

No CEL....I don't remember the reason.

I have an 2002 envoy that all of a sudden started acting as if it wasn't getting fuel when I was driving down the road at 55 after driving anywhere between 10 and 20 miles. It cranks up fine, no hesitation, runs great until 10-20 miles. It doesn't cut off, it coasts down the road about 2 or 3 miles the first time it happened and I pulled over and shut it off thinking I was out of gas but the gas needle said Ihad 1/4 tank. After about 10 minutes I turned the key and it cranked right up. Drove about 5 miles and it happened again. It did this 3 times until I made it home. The second time it happened it was after I had replaced the fuel filter and the same thing happened. The 3rd time I drove it it happened but this time the digital read out on the dash said shut engine off which never happened before. I hooked a diagnostic tool up to it and got no codes. The next time someone test drove it they went 25 miles before it happened but this time they let it coast for 1 Mike and when they pushed the gad pedal it picked back up and they drove it home for 1 mile. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't have much money and there are so many sensors involved and different problems that can cause this baccording to all the videos I've watched I don't know what to think

Could be that the fuel pump or pressure regulator are going bad. Look closely at the fuel pressure reg to see if there is any leakage anywhere. Fuel pumps are in the gas tanks and they keep cool by the fuel around them. A lot of people drive around with a 1/4 tank or less, and this is very bad for the fuel pump especially in hot weather causing them to fail prematurely or act up. You could try keeping your gas tank at 1/2 or more to see if this helps

When I removed the bolts, the braket nor the fuel regulator wanted to release or wiggle. It was so attached, it was like it still had bolts attached...any advice? I really wanted to do this myself. TY

sounds like there is another bolt somewhere that you can't see. I don't have mine anymore to check

Do you think this could fix a "running rough" issue? Mine sat for a month with 1/2 tank of gas. Started it and no issues then 30 min later started idling rough and stalled. Started it back up and it just runs louder and rough as if moisture or something is in the lines or bad gas. Any ideas? I'm a musician not a mechanic.

It is possible, but it could also be your fuel pump. Change your fuel filter first and see if that helps

Hey thanks for this instruction on how to remove. Got a question, maybe you know. I have an 04 LS 3.0 and recently replaced 2 o2 sensors, starter has a brand new battery. O2 sensors were picked up on obd scanner. Got a code for throttle body and throttle position sensor. I replaced them with OEM parts and still getting code and going into limp mode after clearing codes and do a reset. Any chance it could be a bad PCM? Thanks

The PCM's do have problems for the Lincoln LS's....I guess that's what you are referring to? Sometimes they need to be sent in to be fixed. It also might need to be reflashed.......hard to say for sure. Maybe try to clear all the codes again

I actually cleared 32 codes haha, I think it might be the PCM. Ok, I'll remove it and find somewhere to look at it or get it reflashed. Thanks for the info. For some reason my comment came up on this video and not the PCM removal one😁.
