Sadly we can't deny even in majority muslim population, honor killing in the name of Allah still exist in certain country even when the country is not following shari'a law the local community took that initiative to justified "honor killing" in the name of Allah. This is what I afraid the most that the downfall of Islam is from within when some muslim actually refer the shari'a law based only on their interest not humilty and justice as it was supposed to, because now people are getting further from muslim scholar for reference when they try to understand shari'a law.

It's a government and enforcing of laws issue, not a Muslim issue. Big difference.

You can never deny the fact that most of the honor killings happen in Islamic countries in the name of religion with no consequences

It's true but this video explains that honor killing doesn't have anything to do with the Islamic teaching, but the law that applied in the West in the past and traced back to the Roman empire.

@@aramarin8007 and yet the only governments that have continued with permitting honor killings are in Muslim majority countries. Gee, that’s an odd coincidence.

Femicide of all types is illegal in France and the rest of the West. By contrast, honor killings are permitted (or benefit from reduced sentencing) by law in Yemen, Iran, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, and, until recently, Jordan. That’s not Islamophobia; that’s just a simple fact. Gee, I wonder what those countries have in common?

      Exactly.
According to this video's flawed logic France must be the world capital of honor killings today.
If French legal system was the cause that "made" Muslim countries adopt lax laws regarding honour killings. How come that phenomenon isn't at all prevalent in France or the UK?
This video is just a stupid cop out.

Dude, I hope your ear still fuction otherwise, go check it. It is mentioned in the video that this law is an absorption of the law in the Ottoman era which if traced back to the law in France and the west IN THE PAST, not nowadays. As an Indonesian I understand very well because we still use some laws implemented by the Dutch during the colonial period until now.

Jzak Allah for stating the facts and the relevant data, It should serve as an eye opener for all the Muslims who are always suspicious and fiercely critical of Islam instead of their ignorance.

There is a mistake in the law related to the husband who saw his wife in an inappropriate situation. Allah said:
His witness constitutes a 4-witnesses with a swearing that he is honest. If he is a liar then there is 5th Shahadah from Allah that a curse is over him if he was a liar. And the punishment is forbidden from her if she swears that he’s from the liars. And the 5th Shahadah is from Allah that his anger is over her if he was honest.
والله تعالى أعلم، الله يهدينا وبارك الله فيكم ونفع بكم.

Identifying ''dowry-killing'' as the no. 1 proportion of femicide, does not justify honor killing to be given less importance.
The reasons for honor killing (adultery, talking to non-marham) overlap with Islam's restrictions.
So, to make people understand, shouldn't the Islamic muftis actively and strongly participate in anti-honor_killing campaign??
If public education can be given on handwashing, importance of education, so why not on and against honor killing?
Why the government of these countries (Pakistan, Iran, Turkey) and the worldwide famous scholars not doing anything and only punishing the murders for 5-10 years?
Government and Muftis really should come together and solve this problem actively.

Yet all muslim majority or Islamic countries either don't punish honor crimes or they carry a very low and lenient sentence. The category of crimes committed in the name of honor exist in the law. In Jordan it carries a 6 months prison sentence. The law in these countries needs to be changed and murder shpuld be treated as murder and enforced. Otherwise there will be no change in the way people culturally percieve it.

Because my girlfriend is from iran and i want to meet her family to ask for their permission for marriage, i always thought muslims disliked the whites you know.. ignorance. Wow you're good.. this is why I search the net for factual information.. my whole opinion of everyday humans is the same.. whatever religion ...
There are plenty of appalling traditions and misconceptions about religion .. this word means to bind.. God Jesus Allah Mohammed are all created By The Creator of our universe..whoever that is.We can All believe what we like but is that correct??. Always keep an open mind... Christianity and Science go together just like evolving and creation are the same thing....
