My grandmother lived with us at that time and she taught myself and my sister the jar shaking method of making the butter. Btw, it wasn't yellow, it was white. I just felt compelled to share that, it's a good memory💜
I live in a country where cows live on pasture all year round so our butter is yellow. It's the beta-carotene from grass that gives butter it's yellow colour. Cows kept in barns don't get to graze on grass so don't have beta-carotene in their diets and the butter from such animals is near white. In some places cows spend the warmer months outside and kept in barns when it's too cold for them to be outside... Their butter colour changes with the seasons.
With so many things being added to our food that we know nothing about, and as expensive as butter is I will gladly try this and will be passing it on to others it is to simple to not try.

Fantastic homemade butter tutorial. Sending love and warm greetings from the creeks and woodland of Missouri.
Thanks so much🙏🏾
Oh wow, first time seeing your channel I had no idea it was this easy to make butter silly me I thought that buttermilk was milk that went sour but somehow cultivated in the store to not go bad. Have learned a lot today. New subscriber thank you. most definitely will make this for sure.
Me too! I'm going to try this FOR REAL! PLUS add chives. Rosemary and other fresh grown herbs! WOW! Thanks!
You are so welcome!🤗
Thank you so much for this, Jojo! This butter looks incredible!! I have a cake that is a family recipe and calls for buttermilk so that definitely won't go to waste. Love knowing what is in our food!!🙏🏻
Recipes that call for buttermilk are for cultured (fermented) buttermilk. Fresh buttermilk is sweet.
I ate a wonderful meal at a lovely little bistro in Paris once, and the owner told us she made her own butter. It was delicious! Ever since, I've wanted to try this myself. This video was a pleasure to watch. Thank you. (At another restaurant, I had homemade butter with honey mixed into it. I guess we can make our own flavoured butter with honey or herbs or whatever.) Let's get creative!
Omg never knew it was so easy. Just susbribed I will be trying this

My grandmother told me how she and her mother would churn butter every week growing up in the Midwest prairie. I thought "how much work!!" I don't eat butter but this is very cool. butter molds would work well too. Thank you Jojo! I would not have known without this video

I have my grandmother's glass butter churn. I have made butter with it. There is no cost savings. Heavy cream is not cheap, even when I get it directly from the dairy.
It's amazing that you have your grandmother's glass butter churn! It's such a special piece of history, even if the cost savings aren't there. Sometimes, the experience is worth more than the money saved!
Heavy cream is expensive but if it works, my quart container @ 5 from Costco could make almost 2 lbs of butter + some buttermilk. Seems worth it...
Straight to the point and looks easy to do. Will be trying this out, thanks!
My pleasure 😘😘💕
Thank you for sharing
God Bless!
You are so welcome❤
Thank you! Finally a simple way to make butter! 😋🇨🇦
The only issue I have with this is how crazy expensive heavy Cream has gotten. A quart is easily $5-6 dollars here in NW South Carolina!! Yes, a SINGLE Quart!!!
With the price of butter now (at least in Canada) I will certainly give this a try!
Yes, I will try making this butter recipe. Thank you for the video.
