Strange roof damage getting sorted out on the other side of the little Daihatsu Mira turbo today.

  • More panel bending and hammer dinking today.With the damaged roof of the drivers side exterior almost sorted out I'm going to start on the passenger side.

    Looks like it was lifted with a strap round the roof that's bent it.

    I think this side turned out better than the other side. I think you're getting better with practice.

      Thank you for the comment. I have done vehicle restoration over the years. This is a slightly different approach as the workshop is far from fully equipped. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos.

    For the pieces of wood you use, do you actually shape the ends or is it just about holding the square ends at different angles to get the desired results? Also interested to know how long that actually took you in real time.

      The pieces of wood are totally normal with no shaped ends. I used a piece thin enough to fit the inside roof gap then hammered the damage roughly back into original position. Of course shaped wood (rounded end) could have worked better. Roof repair so far is probably about 1½ hours. Tweaking and body filler work will probably be same again?
