  • Flappy horn push and floppy light stalk today. Also I found that JB weld can't fix everything! A bit of plastic packaging from a breaker bar has saved the day.

Wow that is such a good fix. I have also thought about 3d printing replacement plastic parts but so far have failed to do anything about it.

Maybe in the near future we will have to 3d print these bits as no longer available? Thanks for watching

The many faces of recycling, good to know it turned out great.
As @daveshongkongchinachannel suggested, 3D printing could be a great option as the problem with this type of plastic is that overtime it becomes brittle and dusty.

Thanks for the comment. I think I'll look into 3d printing. At the moment I don't think it's worth me investing yet but in the future I probably will need to create parts for all sorts of projects.

I would have taken one look at that and totally given up. Can’t believe you managed to salvage that. Longer term hope you can find a replacement but if not I wonder whether 3D printing might be an option.

Good idea! I didn't even think of 3d printing but could be a future option. Going to keep an eye out for a used item and hope it's not brittle like my one. Thanks for watching

A very creative fix. The JB Weld is good stuff but takes a few days to really cure solid, unless you’ve got the ratios wrong.
3D printed parts would be an option or could you “upgrade” the part from a 90s or early 2000 Daihatsu Cuore?

Both I think, I was being impatient and probably got the ratio's wrong...Still this did result in a better fix.
Using parts of a later model could be an option too but I'm not sure of compatibility
