    Had a LWB Diesel 1Ton in the early 90's for tree work. It would go any where towing a chipper, you could fill it with logs and it would not drop an inch. Cold, Loud, Clamped seats and a bugger to start in the winter. Miss it and I have a 101 Forward Control for work. Cheers

      Hi, is yours the dark green one converted to diesel by Dunsfold in the 90s? Obviously from the factory they were all 2.6 petrols but not ideal for private use due to the thirst. Any idea what happened to it?

      @@onetonlandrover I bought it from a yard in Aston and it had been round the block so who knows what it started out as. Reg was PRB 248E. Blue Panels. White hard top with a blue door. Sold on for £1200 and bought a fully restored K reg Series 3 2.25 diesel station wagon for £2000 Hard to believe now. The 101 keeps me busy though. Cheers

      @@willtricks9432 E plate would be too early for a 1 Ton, blue and white - possibly ex-EMEB and I think they did run diesels.

      Or how do I see if I have a 1 ton?

    CN I ask where you got your Camac nato tyres? And are they 7.50 or 7.00?

    • @onetonlandrover
      @onetonlandrover  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bought online or via friends over the years. They are 9.00x16.

    I've been looking for an easier off road track to take my 10 year old as he so badly wants to go !! We have been to Salisbury Plain but not managed to find this particular track ? Which village do I head for please?? 🙏

    • @snidertom8971

      Been a while since this video but I think we were mainly down south on Salisbury plain not near any particular village.
      If your looking for an easy route with nice views you could try Market Lavington to Upavon on the Salisbury plain Northern Transit Route.

      Thankfully it wasn't *too* muddy, just enough to keep it interesting without causing damage. I don't think I'd want to try it in winter.

      @@onetonlandrover , is there any modification done to install a 900x16s tires? Tyvm.

    • @onetonlandrover
      @onetonlandrover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dennissalumbides-9064 They can fit a standard vehicle, but you will find the tyres will rub the bodywork. You need to make quite extensive modification to the chassis suspension mounts, as well as fit longer swing arms. The steering will also be *very* heavy without the special steering box. Gearing will also be quite tall, especially on a working vehicle. The 1 Ton of course had all this from the factory. Considering the scarcity and expense of 900x16 tyres I really wouldn't bother, as the disadvantages very much outweigh any advantages.

      Depends on your meaning of fast, l have been in a few Series Land Rovers that were quite quick, mostly V8 or V6 but one had a 2.8 litre version of the 2.25 petrol.
